2. If it is equal or better it is justified. But if it is worse then one must show that the benefit humans get out of this exploitation cancels out their suffering.

3. If there are more ethical ways for humans to gain benefit they ought to turn to them rather than exploiting animals.

Yes, they do. Battery animals from farms are adopted by santuaries where they can live out the rest of their lives free from abuse. Animals from fur farms, that are destined to be anally electricuted and then skinned so people can wear their fur, are released into the wild so they have a chance to taste freedom before they die. Laboratory animals are released to homes and sanctuaries that are confidential. The ALF really does make a difference.

Are you serious? Animal research doesn't save anyone. Nothing that is tested on an animal is reliable until it is tested on a human, simple as that. When I get out of highschool, out of the army, and move to a place that needs to be liberated I intend to start my own Cell (Thats what an individual ALF group is called) and liberate the animals in need. @LegendxWind I'll be honest, I'm not entirely convinced by the arguments against animal testing. Don't get me wrong. It is completely evil to test on poor little animals. But I can't help thinking if it wasn't animals, it would be humans they'd be keeping in cages. Of course, I'm only talking about it with regards to medicine testing. Anything else is ENTIRELY wrong and should be stopped IMMEDIATELY.

I believe that people who have been convicted child molestors and serial killers should be tested on. They proved they can no longer function in a human society and have taken away the rights of other human beings, therefore they should have their rights abolished and help science further itself. The results from tests would be more accurate as the products for humans are actually being tested on humans. It may sound sick, but I would agree 100 percent with it.

Same here, but heres the thing. When a human is hurt, I can relate because I know I feel pain the same way they do. But when an animal is hurt, how do I not know that their pain is 100% worse than a humans? Its unsettling. And plus, I would rather a human who killed other humans and is guilty of murder be tested on than an animal whos only crime was looking different than us.

@LegendxWind There are arguments from both sides. If you test on humans you're taking away their rights and that's against every constitution that not like.... dictatorship or whatever. A lot would have to happen for people to agree to it. And even if it did start working, there'd be no number of protests.... I don't know. There's a right answer somewhere, I just don't know where it is :S

I agree for the most part, except for the luxuries given to people in prison. Killers are given the right to walk out and have fresh air and recreational time while their victims rot in the ground and leave families in shambles. I was talking to a friend who's studying that sort of biological testing stuff, but she says she's involved in a thing where they're trying to duplicate human cells to test the medicines on them. Then no one's getting hurt and the tests are more accurate. I don't know too much about it, but it sounds good :)

Thats great! I'm very very happy that she has chosen an alternative testing method, there are hundreds available such as using organ donations to test medicines and computer software and cell duplication. The results are way more accurate too, as when an animal is tested a human disease is injected into them which leads to many problems as they themselves are not human and complications arise as well as inconclusive data. Good for her for using alternatives!
