  • you're right this isn't really a strength exercise, it's good for stretching, though that's probably bad technique or something to let my knees get so close to my chest... I did 1020 when I was 15 but I never could've gotten it that low... I stopped at 4 or 5 inches ha then got kicked out of the gym for using too much weight or something?? ha

  • The vertical work being done is the sin of 45 degrees x the mass of the bar and plates. Thus 1000 x sin 45= .707.11.

    The lifter is vertically leg pressing the equivalent of 707 lbs. This would translate to a free squat of less than 500 lbs., factoring in the lifters body mass.

    Anybody can do 1000 lb. leg presses, it's quite easy.

    Why you dont see people doing it is that it is more important to go for a certain amount of time, rather than weight (with leg presses) (FLEX September issue)
