What?!?! The original Bubble Bobble was with dinosaurs did they evolve from BB to BB3?

No. They were always human boys, but they got turned into dragons. I think...

if you play BB with 2 players on level 99 (i think) one player has to go after a crystal ball the other a door way (must be timed perfectly) then you get 20 extra levels- when you beat the boss guy you get the "good ending" and you get turned back into humans thus leading to rainbow islands (the mutant sequel) if you get the "bad ending" you go to bubble bobble 2 (ultra rare).

looks like one hell of a short game. I only noticed 8 planets.

One of which is not playable because you started there and move off of it.

there's 10 levels in each planet (he edited them out - timing constraints i guess)

I edited nothing out of this one... the NES version is a rather cruddy one all told.

yeah, i screwed up and thought the piano was the boss and wondered where the kick drum was- didn't have the comments left to say "oops"

oh yeah, i've played a 16 bit version and you start out on the music planet -as in playing (unless it was unchanged)

I had this game for my Amiga, it gets so crazy later on. I don't think I ever completed it actually.
