  • Flip Flop&Fly

    I Don't Care

    If I Die.

    Don't Ever Leave Me

    Don't Ever Say Goodbye.

I Sang That To My Little Grandnephew First Time I Saw Him and Held Him.

  • This reminds me when my grandma we cook us breakfast she would play her music and dance I love this music reminds me of when I was young

  • This is simply one of the greatest records ever recorded plain and simple. Big Joe is a one of a kind. Often imitated but never duplicated. Good to see you find this pressing. To my knowledge it is extremely rare, especially in this pristine condition. Kudos to you for finding it!

  • Awesome Roots......Gotta' Luv it! ♥

  • Anyone got the live version of this??? Plse post or link!

  • Alwayz reminds me of my dad! RIP Adolf Garcia!

  • This is great stuff. Woulda been cool to have lived back then, except for WWII and the depression

  • @bassbob42

    LOL!

  • Thank you

  • What a treasure! Thanks for sharing this rarity!

  • I graduated from H.S. in 1957!.....my kinda music!

  • Downchild Blues Band had a big hit with it here in Toronto. They were also a big influence on the Blues Bros, who covered a few of there songs.

  • OMG NOOOOOOO! That is the perfect way to ruin that record. Unless you are running bamboo needles and changing them like every other play that thing will dig the groove out of that so fast.

  • Flip flop and fly i dont care if i die!!!

  • "The original pressing of the Blues Brothers classic"?

Surely you mean the classic original 1955 million seller, performed by Big Joe Turner, who co-wrote the song with Charles Calhoun.

This vibrant Rhythm & Blues song has been covered by various performers including the Blues Brothers.

I must also point out that playing a Atlantic 78 on a 1929 gramophone with what, for it's day can only now be described as a knitting needle stylus on a heavy arm, will wear your grooves out very quickly.

  • now that is THE sound...great stuff...

  • my recordings were both 45's. i'd think the same sides would hold for your 78's but i couldn't be absolutely sure. hope you find 'em. thanks for taking the time to respond.

  • there were two great flip sides to "shake rattle & roll", and "flip flop & flY". one was "tee ra lee" and i forget the other title. puh-leeze post them if at all possible.

  • @patthecatman ...I'll have a look for you, I still have both 78's and my gramophone still works...so you never know your luck :-)

  • all time jukebox classic...superb sound..super posting..
