Dedication? It's a game dude, I'm trying to work out wether I should play Aion or not, And quit WoW but honestly mate WoW does take a lot of dedicaiton sure somethings don't take long to achieve but try getting the "over 9000" achievement and tell me how long you have to grind rep and shit to get it, also try for "Insane in the membrane" Then come back and tell me It does not take dedication
cause if u finished all the quest in your level and need the next level to get more quests u cant do nothing only grindig,and maybe for the drop, stigma stones, etc. Mainly for the stigma stones I think.
But yeah the game is sweet its challenging at some points of the game which is the main reason i left wow in the first place the game became way too easy mode, boring dont take what im saying out of context i went all the way to end game content all the way to icc 10 and 25 only the first gate though after my guild cleared it i left the game due to its easymode release i found toc to be even harder its bs lol give this game a go its heavy on its pvp which i like
@TankForum If you like harder games, go give Anarchy Online a try. It's old, yes, because it was released in 2001. But don't let that get to you, AO has a amazing story line and Funcom will be upgrading the graphics sometime this year (hopefully) and will be balancing the professions.
This game is pretty good and it aint really a grind fest its similar to wow the only thing that bothers me is when you engage yourself with a mob it aint like wow where its quick, you gottah cycle through so many moves (chains) before the mob is dead so its combat aint really balanced thats my only problem with the game other then that its a good game and the pvp is really fun oh one more thing i hate is the private store shops people put up why so many? fukin put that shit up on ah scrubs lol
The main reason why aion is great that all the DECENT people that played wow left it and went to play aion.All the rest stayed on WoW becouse it's "omg best g4m3 evur!11" Wow copy?...No it's just an mmorpg.All mmorpg's have some same features.Wow wasn't the first mmorpg to begin with anyways.The game was cool,but now it's past his prime and the only people that still stay there are mentally challanged or people that don't want to waste their subscription so they'll continue playing till it ends.

Its not boring when just the physical look of the game is realistic, but the good effects from attacks and skills remain. In fact I find games which are like that alot more interesting than those which only have one or the other.
I think that's why I REALLY don't like World of Warcraft and Age of Conan. WoW got the cool effects, but look like crap! AoC got the looks, but don't have alot of visual effects. That aside I prefer AoC to WoW just because it's so much more violent! :D

After having played silkroad, i wouldnt trust a korean company again. And after having read some forum posts about botting, NCsoft seems to be as incompetent as joymax.

well that is not much of the game. it could be a wow killer, but its almost in its starting moment. give the game some time and some updates, maybe the first bonuspack. than we will se.
at moment you must not grind much, but to much for a non grinder game. They wanna fix that in the future. But its played of many ex wow players and they think that it could take the place of wow in the future too.
I have a lvl 30 templar done a few instance..... so far the only thing i dont like about the class is the taunts it way to slow.... done tanking 3 to 4 adds at the same time a bit messy at time but still manage to control it.... got a skill that can taunt all but the cooldown is way to long lol..... just getting a hang of it i suppose :))) but luv the game :)
Yea it is $15 per month, but the way you pay is nice. For example, you pay for 1 month, and you say you don't play for a while, the amount of time you didn't play still remains.
I'm not there yet, but from everything I have read when you get into levels 30+ you start having to grind your way to 50. Supposedly if you like questing all the way to level cap, Aion is not for you. From what I can gather it is based on grinding from 30+ up really in the Abyss with PvP mixed in, with end game being mostly PvP based with some PvE raids. That is how I understand it. My highest level is a 17, so I have along, long ways to go.
Yeah, above level 30 it's a mix of grinding and questing, but from what I hear, exp from quest is getting a buff in the next patch. Not sure though.
In either way, you're still going to spend the same amount of time playing the game, regardless of whether you grind or not, just grinding takes out travel time.

you dont need any skill to play WoW. that game is where non skilled players can accomplish the same things a skilled player can. WoW is destroying itself with Cataclysm.
In WoW, you can be level 80 and STILL be a noob. In more sophisticated mmorpgs such as Aion, you gotta know what you're doing to progress.
For grinding/leveling/pvp solo, he wants to be able to crit more and do more dps, if he played groups alot you're right he would stack shield def/parry
why did u do full crit on the manastones? why not shield block and use the passive parry skill to heighten ur defense seeing as u play with sword and baord?
I don't play Aion but since I used to play WoW, I think I can take a stab at your question. It could be because the player is still leveling and would prefer to do more damage to level faster. I'm sure the person will switch to defense stones for endgame.
im not saying this is the wow killer..but when i logged on to my toon 2day...my friend guild disbanded and 1/2 the people went to this game..and my server use to be a heavly populated one..and now for the past weak ,in the middle of the day its only been on medium..so idk haha
it is NO grind. at least in europe. u have got massive quests. well not THAT huge-woah-what-a-story-quests, but okay quests. the atmo is very, very good in combination with the soundtrack (which is brilliant). i didnt like asian-style MMOs (L2 and all the clones which look the same) until aion now. ok, i dont like the combos and shouts aswell - but like i said to the atmosphere kicks ass
How far in are you because the quest barely give good exp, mainly they are used as a tool to make brake up the grind but after lvl 18 I was hard-pressed to care about most quest unless i was after a title.
You have an option. you can either select 4 different In-Game voice or your Character or None.
but i mean why dont u want that? you do know that its not gonna be a korean voice in-game . in selected creation character you have like alot of different voice you can give to your char :p
I know it won't be Korean voice, I don't mind if it's Korean or American voice. The fact that the character shout whenever he casts a spell is just damn annoying.
you can turn off voices but make sure you choose a voice you like or can tolerate because in some cut scences your character makes noises anyway, my mage had the basic voice i and /suicide when i heard him squeak in acension so i rolled anothermage
I played WoW for 3 months after playing Guild Wars for 3 years...I maxed geared in 2 weeks after hitting 80 with some hardcore shit guild, I loled and deleted my acount. It was so easy, so brainless and so boring. It felt like I acomplished NOTHING.
Today, I still play GW and Aion. Skill based deck PvP in GW and Massive RvR in Aion.
Have fun playing boring cartoony worgens and infinitely raid for better gear as endgame and insta kill pvp.
And about people saying that this game has to much grinding and its really boring, well this is the Korean Version of the game. apparently they had a survey and found that most Americans HATE grinding so they lowered the grinding to a minimum... Not like FFXI, Jesus that game got boring FAST!

this game has the same enchanting system as lineage which means it will fail cause donators will own it. grindable lvls are BOOORING. even with the cool graphics in battles its lame having to do it 30-40 times for a single lvl. i was rly impressed by it at first cause of the great graphics and battles, but i see now that its nothing special, great graphics yeah but not much to do, it has many stuff from wow yes, but so what, i will just wait for aion private servers, just like in l2 pplation 2k+
I completely understand where you are coming from, thats what i expected from this game.but i've played this game to level 30 and beleive me this guy just wants to grind there are plenty of quests and the aion team made sure of that because they took into account that western people hate to grind. once you get to 25+ it's really easy to level, tons of quests and lots of air battles. this guy is probably grinding to show people what aion is like. i think it's great but that's just my opinion :)
everyone keeps comparing this to wow! and these are the people who have not even played it. Or exited the starting area. Its similar........but it is an mmo but in an honest oppinion way more action packed and keeps you on your toes..in my personal opinion. Get it!

Yes, since a couple of years ago WoW is a joke made to please casuals and 12 years old that can't press buttons. If it hurts you to hear, it's probably because you're one of them.

I'm a good mmo player, and I like games where player's skill takes it over gear, and aion is all about gear for some classes, like assassin... and the game is pretty much imbalanced, some classes are easy to kite..

After having played silkroad, i wouldnt trust a korean company again. And after having read some forum posts about botting, NCsoft seems to be as incompetent as joymax.
I could be wrong of course, but i dont think botting in aion will be a nuisance, it will completely take over.

This game is far different from wow, and WoW ripped alot of its materials off of previous MMO's, This is game doesnt rely and 3 button rotataions and is actually alot more difficult to level in, if you want an easy game go play wow its where all toddlers have to start out

at moment you must not grind much, but to much for a non grinder game. They wanna fix that in the future. But its played of many ex wow players and they think that it could take the place of wow in the future too.

I have a lvl 30 templar done a few instance..... so far the only thing i dont like about the class is the taunts it way to slow.... done tanking 3 to 4 adds at the same time a bit messy at time but still manage to control it.... got a skill that can taunt all but the cooldown is way to long lol..... just getting a hang of it i suppose :))) but luv the game :)

Yea it is $15 per month, but the way you pay is nice. For example, you pay for 1 month, and you say you don't play for a while, the amount of time you didn't play still remains.

I'm not there yet, but from everything I have read when you get into levels 30+ you start having to grind your way to 50. Supposedly if you like questing all the way to level cap, Aion is not for you. From what I can gather it is based on grinding from 30+ up really in the Abyss with PvP mixed in, with end game being mostly PvP based with some PvE raids. That is how I understand it. My highest level is a 17, so I have along, long ways to go.

Yeah, above level 30 it's a mix of grinding and questing, but from what I hear, exp from quest is getting a buff in the next patch. Not sure though.
In either way, you're still going to spend the same amount of time playing the game, regardless of whether you grind or not, just grinding takes out travel time.

you dont need any skill to play WoW. that game is where non skilled players can accomplish the same things a skilled player can. WoW is destroying itself with Cataclysm.
In WoW, you can be level 80 and STILL be a noob. In more sophisticated mmorpgs such as Aion, you gotta know what you're doing to progress.

It's one of the most useless stigmas a templar can have, does about 300 dmg on a fasthitting mob/char when you have around 2k hp.

I don't play Aion but since I used to play WoW, I think I can take a stab at your question. It could be because the player is still leveling and would prefer to do more damage to level faster. I'm sure the person will switch to defense stones for endgame.

it is NO grind. at least in europe. u have got massive quests. well not THAT huge-woah-what-a-story-quests, but okay quests. the atmo is very, very good in combination with the soundtrack (which is brilliant). i didnt like asian-style MMOs (L2 and all the clones which look the same) until aion now. ok, i dont like the combos and shouts aswell - but like i said to the atmosphere kicks ass

How far in are you because the quest barely give good exp, mainly they are used as a tool to make brake up the grind but after lvl 18 I was hard-pressed to care about most quest unless i was after a title.

You have an option. you can either select 4 different In-Game voice or your Character or None.
but i mean why dont u want that? you do know that its not gonna be a korean voice in-game . in selected creation character you have like alot of different voice you can give to your char :p

you can turn off voices but make sure you choose a voice you like or can tolerate because in some cut scences your character makes noises anyway, my mage had the basic voice i and /suicide when i heard him squeak in acension so i rolled anothermage

from 19-20 to 25 its just grinding the quests give around 15-30k exp which is 3-6 easy monsters

I played WoW for 3 months after playing Guild Wars for 3 years...I maxed geared in 2 weeks after hitting 80 with some hardcore shit guild, I loled and deleted my acount. It was so easy, so brainless and so boring. It felt like I acomplished NOTHING.
Today, I still play GW and Aion. Skill based deck PvP in GW and Massive RvR in Aion.
Have fun playing boring cartoony worgens and infinitely raid for better gear as endgame and insta kill pvp.

this game has the same enchanting system as lineage which means it will fail cause donators will own it. grindable lvls are BOOORING. even with the cool graphics in battles its lame having to do it 30-40 times for a single lvl. i was rly impressed by it at first cause of the great graphics and battles, but i see now that its nothing special, great graphics yeah but not much to do, it has many stuff from wow yes, but so what, i will just wait for aion private servers, just like in l2 pplation 2k+

I completely understand where you are coming from, thats what i expected from this game.but i've played this game to level 30 and beleive me this guy just wants to grind there are plenty of quests and the aion team made sure of that because they took into account that western people hate to grind. once you get to 25+ it's really easy to level, tons of quests and lots of air battles. this guy is probably grinding to show people what aion is like. i think it's great but that's just my opinion :)
