haha, NOT the 7.3L IDI diesel, or the 6.9! they are considered the most reliable diesel motors ever put into a pickup. mechanics say they avereage 450,000 miles, and have been seen still going at around twice that. duramax is an embarassment to the world of trucks, they have tons of problems with thier shitty aluminum heads cracking and warping constantly,
and lets not forget that its all JAP SHIT, as it is made overseas by isuzu since gm doesnt have the balls or intelligence to make or even use an american motor.
you just remember that the U.S. military uses the Duramax engine in their tanks. they don't wanna use a Ford engine cuz they don't wanna get stranded out in the desert.
well i have a few friends that are military mechanics that have told me the dmaxes are complete pieces of shit and that the detroit 6.5s were much more reliable
i take back my own comment i new it wasn't a duramax but its not even diesel anymore they use a AGT 1500 gas turbine which is about as far away from a duramax as you can get
my dad has a ford 7.3L IDI and at 230000kms it droped a valve because the retainer for it broke and that caused the piston to jam the valve back up into the head and the cylinder wall was cracked top to bottom
