Well the army doesn't just patrol, but yeah the marines are definitely the most hardcore. If anyone says different then they are just jealous, a lot of army guys will even tell you that the marines do most of the dirty work. Plus their boot camp is longer, so that proves that they need more training to do harder things.

Actually sir, you are extremely wrong. Read up on the war before you get all semper fi on my ass. The marines were primarily used in the Navy's Island hoping strategy in the Pacific, due to the fact that the marines are apart of the Navy's Attack forces. The US Army had a huge impact in world war II. they helped defeat Rommel's Africa corps, Liberated Italy and made up 3/4 of the Attack forces at the normandy Landing in 1944. Check you facts before you make Dumbass comments.

Nowdays the Marines definately handle most of the assaults and firefights, but in WWII the Army probably saw more combat action as a whole than the marines. You are forgetting D-day and all the battles in france, Battle of the Bulge, the Ardennes, Africa, Italy, and the army even went ashore in the pacific too in guadalcanal. The marines had the hardest job IMO tho with the island hops.
