  • This happend to my imac g4 with tiger but at the apple. i think its the HDD, is it

  • Make sure there's no USB in your imac while booting.

    This was my problem.

  • @HappyHardstyle2 ur the dude dude

  • For me it turned out that the problem was with the HD. Despite being able to view the drive when being booted up with another drive the end result was still to wipe the drive clean and start fresh.

  • Hay I have the same problem with my iMac did the repair take long

  • @magyk292 No, the iMac repair didn't take long at all. If your problem is the HD, it should take maybe 3 - 5 days.

  • the only solution take it up to mac store if your warranty still has not over due, theyll replace it, or ask them what is the problem and get them to fix it and est of cost im guessing about $50

  • @Sengk7 I will take it to the Apple Store soon. My 1 year warranty is expired though. . .Do I still take it to them and ask what's wrong? When you say $50 is that the cost for fixing it, or the cost of the diagnostic? Thanks.

  • and hold it for a minute

  • press alt + command + r + p

  • @Sengk7 That zaps the PRAM, which I've done.

  • hey man have you still got this problem? have you tried usng a different keyboard? we had exactly the same problem last night and we tried everythng... we rang apple up and the guy told us that this could be due to a faulty keyboard... our mac got stuck at the blue screen.... we pluged n a dif keyboard (wndows one will do) and slipped n the cd and presses ALT stragight after we pressed the power button.. and believe it or not t WORKED

  • @stefisking Hmmm, I have tried an older apple keyboard, but that didn't work. . .I will try a windows USB keyboard. Thanks for the input!

  • @stefisking Seriously, thanks a million. I was preparing to head over to the apple store tomorrow to get this fixed. And at first I did not believe you since the alt+comm+r+p worked. But hey I went ahead and tried it, and it worked.

Thanks to you, you saved me a few bucks. And me being a student, its bucks I dont have. So yeah, thanks!!!!

    - I freaking Love YOU.

  • @Datking00 Almost forgot. For those with this issue, before buying a new HD try what Stefishking said. Plug in any USB keyboard and on startup press alt then proceed in selecting the drive to boot. Worked for me.

  • @Datking00

glad it worked for you my friend.

    peace

  • Had the same problem. Turned out to be a hard drive. Replaced it, and now it works fine.

  • @keegano1 I appreciate your input! I will look into it. Do you think I could just hook up an external firewire hard drive? Or would I have to actually buy a Hard Drive and manually open the machine? Thanks again! - Alex D.

  • @HeyyLookItsAlex Hey, sorry for the late reply. It turns out the problem was the Hard Drive (surprisingly) and it cost me about 300 dollars to repair. Although, when I got it back, the bluetooth wasn't working and it got very hot, very fast, which it didn't do before.

  • Hey, I'm Alex too. And I have the same problem as you. However, I was able to use both the SL and my original Leopard restore disk to boot up. But, the next day, always a white screen. I'm really frustrated as I have tried everything as well. My AppleCare is expired, but I think I might have to bring it in to apple so the can tell me I need a logic board and $1000 for it installed. Let me know if your able to fix it. Good luck!!

  • mmm, that seems more like a blue screen!!! =D

  • @forseti99 That's my camera, It is actually white.

  • Take it to the apple store

  • @MrAkibHD a mental child could tell him that
