as for stopping, i've seen the vids where he stops. the wheels are not on rotating axis, so all he has to do is turn sideways (notice he doesn't here unless he's cornering, and that's only slightly). when he's completely sideways he wheels drag him to a halt. he goes through a lot of wheels...
