  • To sing is to pray twice. What a wonderful gift to us all.

  • These guys are rock stars.

  • does anyone know what kind of music this is, i mean know its priest singing but i know theres an exact type of music they are doing???

  • This is "Panis Angelicus" but not the César Franck -version, I'd really like to know who is the composer... wonderful a capella singing anyway.

There are several types of Christian chant, and this really annoys me as I KNOW I SHOULD KNOW what type this is but the word simply disappeared! D'oh!

  • Their singing is a beautiful higher form of prayer, and a charitable act. Thank you

  • they are from antrim . two are brothers.great voices

  • Wow, they are amazing! The harmony is beautiful...I guess you just have to really appreciate this kind of music to like it...

  • Are they from Craggy Island?

  • No god to save you

  • NYEENT WRONG!!! I'm living proof God exist bro :) He loves you too!!! But if you don't beleive you lose. are you a looser?

  • I'm a winner.

  • wow they're amazing. it's a very father ted thing to do haha

  • Fr. Ted from Indiana?

  • I like country blue grass gosple music with a twang. Now that is real music from the heart. The stronger the twang the better.

  • beautiful I dig it, though churches scare me

  • lol why do churches scare you?

  • i diddnt seem to like it very much, it seemed a litle depressing, though, it still did, wether i liked it or not have this harmony to it.

  • Just goes to show you don't have to be religous to recognize fantastic vocal work. This is one of the finest examples of vocal harmonizing I've ever heard. I am Catholic, but it wouldn't matter if I wasn't because this is an absolute joy to hear.

  • Same here.

  • pretty

  • If only the last chord coulda been held out...

  • Very beautiful. I would definately buy a recording when and if it comes out. It would be nice by Christmas.

  • The record is being released in something like 36 countries, in fact I think it was released last week. The younger of the two brother priests is the priest in my parish of 600 people, so it's causing quite a stir here, to see our priest on tv

  • I'm not religious in anyway but they are really good

  • I miss this type of music it is so uplifting, not necessarily the words but the music that soothes and balances the human spirit.

  • Wow. o_o

  • Aren't they wonderful? Can't wait for the CD.

  • Beautiful music

seems youtube chose a good feature video :)

  • Is that Father Nelson?

  • BTW, this version of Panis Angelicus is by Casciolini. Don't know if links are allowed in comments, but a search will turn up the free downloadable score on an Italian site. Looks pretty easy for an average choir.

  • pretty cool!

  • I am of no religion....Heck I struggle day in and day out with the idea that there is even any God out there. Yet, I clicked on this video and found myself hearing the voices of these men of the cloth. I think not only do they sound absolutely beautiful but there is something about them and their singing. They have a magical sound to them...a sound so powerful that I listened to the video 5 times and now and looking for more of their music. Thank you for posting...

  • I feel the same way. Well said.

  • Nice Voices ;p

  • They're singing Panis Angelicus and its in Latin, and was originally written in latin. The name roughly translates into bread of the angels.

  • yeah, their voices blend well and i'm sure they're great anyway but the reason why they blend so "effortlessly" here is because they're in a place with incredible acoustics. pretty much anyone could sing there and sound good.

  • I would love to play my violin in that hall. This is a small part of the monophonic, polyphonic era. Catholic hymnals are beautiful. They're even more inspiring when you understand the structure and even the translation. My music flesh side says "Encore!" My Spiritual and religious side says "Amen!"

  • beautiful sounds, but: what's the point of singing something that no one understands?? And people should never assume what another person likes, esp. God. & what if God didn't exist? What if people wasted their life believing in stuff that didn't exist?? I think scientist should researcher more about God instead going to church. i know that might offend some people, but, it can be the truth.

And i still don't get why its uplifting? I like classical music better and it isn't boring.

  • Oh, so then it is your appointed duty & purpose in life to go around criticizing people over their music or what appeals to them and to straighten them all out? People enjoying this sort of music hurts nobody and probably makes the world a lot better with the positive uplifting vibes they get from it. If you don't like something why don't you go elsewhere. in short, grow up & get a life.

  • they sing well, to bad i do not understand that language theyare singing.

  • the language is latin. it is the mother language of french, italian and spanish.

  • and Portuguese, Romanian, and all the languages and dialects that come from the 5 main romance languages listed.

  • And Portuguese and Romanian.

  • I agree with the comment below by Skeazix. In a world that's tearing itself to pieces can't we just take time to listen to something simple and uplifting ? Whatever faith (or non faith)this is an opportunity to savour something refreshing for your soul.

  • I think it is very interesting that anytime anybody posts anything with a spiritual/faith/religious connotation, people are immediately up at arms arguing trivialites. Can't we just ejoy the music? It is highly unlikely that you will convince anyone of anything over an internet discussion. Save the debate for real life. Relax. Let the peace of the music permeate your life and your attitude, and let's be a little more patient and accepting of one another and our different perspectives.

  • I am muslim, and I think this is beautiful. Anything uplifting which has a pure intention is good. regardless of religion. Religion is a means to an end. the end being God. or Goodness.

  • well, you're pretty much wrong you know. All Religions end in different ways, not necessarily an end to existence. Also, all God's are different, for every religion. Your "God" doesn't incorporate Christ, the savior of humanity and king of kings. Judaism doesn't incorporate him as well and disregards many of the divine teachings. Buddhism doesn't have a "god" only enlightenment. Hinduism has many different "god's" and I could go on and on. Your religion is false as well, I'm sorry to say.

  • wow not only are you extrodianrily close minded and narrow but dissresective as a whole. I think I can even understand Summerz. I question everything and so I don't fit in a religon but what he/she said was right. Enlightenment is a goodness which is why summerz said God or Goodness. Plus you have an extrodinarily closed minded perspected because you see others views and say NO your wrong. Well I wont say that your religon is wrong, I wont know till I die, but you yourself are wrong as a person.

  • Madman living up to his name there. What an idiot. Your blind faith and judgemental attitude is pathetic.

  • Okay, we all have our own faiths. And the truth is, we'll never know the truth until we die. Personally, I am a Christian and believe that is the truth. In the end I may be wrong. But there is still one absolute truth. In a Jewish Synagogue, a woman speaking to my class made the analogy of different witnesses to the same car accident. She said they have different perspectives, but they're all right in their own eyes. But in reality the crash only went down one way. And that's truth.

  • I love your way of thinking! :)

  • what religion are you anyway?? an assuming a hole

  • Definitely buying this album. Amazing voices.

  • I'm not religious but great voices always gives me goosebumps.

  • Great voices! Oh btw, alindastar, God does indeed love music...mentioning the harp and everything...it is rather unfortunate that Lucifer was the Angel of Music, isn't it? That such a beautiful art can be trashed by him...it says in the bible about satan's very movements flowing with music...of course this was while he was still an archangel, and before his rebellion...

  • capnchrist, though i'm not a religious person, and i like their voices,i'm still gonna say that, satan in all forms, still is the angel of music, and you gotta agree for all the fans around the world, like metal/heavy metal musics which often has 'Satan' in it.I'm not a metal fan,but yea,and yes,i have nothing to do with satan and all his alies.

  • that's nice and pretentious to assume you know what god likes...

  • I might not know to much about religion... but i do enjoy music and these singers are by far beyond a lot of people out there today. I WISH NOTHING BUT PEACE AND LOVE FOR THESE GUYS~!!!

  • I'm not christian, but I faved this video...those priests sound awesome!

  • The Holy Chipmunks

  • Waiting on their cover of AC/DC's "Hell's Bells"

  • Waiting on their cover of AC/DC's "Hells Bells"

  • Most excellent. I love it!

  • wow. beautiful.

  • Their voices blend so beautifully. What a blessing to listen to them.

  • I love these hyms. I'm definetly buying thier album. God bless.

  • Gorgeous! They've totally been blessed :)

  • Truly beautiful and we know that God loves music because we are told in the bible that David played a beautiful harp and was a man after God's own heart.

  • wow they are good.

you know people, this isnt a site to discuss and fight about your religious beliefs, its to watch videos.!

  • your awesome guys

  • Great voice

  • not a big fan of the religious scene, but they do have some of the most powerful songs

  • Pretty good video. Also go over to the show Brians Basement. It's a community show based on the viewers issues. We get together and discuss different topics that go on in our daily lives. If you like it please subscribe and join the newest in You Tube communities.

  • pinoyekis something can be admired without sharing the same view as the person who created it. asfor what sablenko was doing was giving respect to the art nothing more. Also what you displayed is why people dislike religion. Everything is immediately taken personal and you attack, argue, etc rather than calmly debate. If your religion is about "saving" people you will never accomplish that till you can learn to respect the person your talking with. even if you don't agree with them

  • wow!! it's simply beautiful! :)

  • Sounds good, but I prefer a little Ozzy to get me going in the morning...

  • God,satan,allah,buda... They are part of our imagination,so dont waste your time. Live normal life. :P

  • I don't believe in God but I still sing in church all the time!

  • Why don't you just tell your parents you don't believe in God and ask if you can stay home?

  • Are you an idiot? Buddist don't think that he's some sort of deity, they simply try to imulate the way he lived his life.

  • uhh, depends on which strain of Buddhism you believe in, there are various groups who believe various things and some actually do hold that Buddha was/is (some form) of a deity

  • "Are you a God?" they asked the Buddha.

    "No," he replied.

    "Are you an angel, then?"

    "No."

    "A saint?"

    "No."

    "Then what are you?"

Replied the Buddha: "I am awake."

  • Lol is this suppose to be a funny joke or sumthing?

  • your an idiot..

  • what in the world does Buddhism have to do with me singing in a christian church as an atheist?

  • did you you know that this whole sudden repopulisation of gregorian-ish chants was started by the x box game halo, which features gregorian chant. i was in school 1 morning when my friends came in singing chants, saying that the song off halo was really cool, jst goes to show that maybe video games good bring back culture.

  • If you'd watched one of their other videos, you'd know that these guys have been doing this since they were small children.

  • actually, crazywales, this type of music experienced a resurgence in popularity in the mid 1990's. i dont recall if "Enigma" or (the benedictine)"Chant" came first, but both were selling millions of albums featuring chant music. but yes, Halo has it in the intro music, also some in-game music. so you dont think my correction missed your point, if very young people are now being exposed to good music and culture through a video game that's definitely a plus.

  • yawn.

  • i don't believe in religion

but i can sure admit when something sounds outstanding

  • But who gave you your ears? ;)

  • My mom gave me mine, but I'm thinking of buying some others to have 2 pairs (or maybe 3).

  • It is greatfull and I think it hears more grteatfull if you stand in front of them while singing! Thanks/

  • right you are! This music is BEAUTIFUL! I wish that I was there to hear these priests in person.

  • They sing like humans!

  • Of course, they are humans, not angels. It would be better if they were playing overdriven guitars, bass and drum set.

  • what are they saying thats not english?

  • No shit shirlock

  • if you're going to insult someone at least get your spelling right....jeeze, so bad, terribad.

  • the hymn is called, "Panis Angelicus", and the text comes from St. Thomas Aquinas. If you look up the title on Wikipedia, there's a translation of the hymn if you scroll down a bit.

  • No matter how ridiculous I find organized religion, I have to love so much of the art and culture it has made historically.

  • wow you hate ORGANIZED RELIGION? please tell me, are you ex-JW? (no offence intended pls)

  • Are you dense? inthefade didn't say he/she hated it at all.... how can you paraphrase so badly? And what kind of remark is "are you ex-JW?" Are you suggesting their beliefs are inferior to all others and therefore, more likely to dislike religion as whole - or something along those lines? .....

  • All hail the ignorance of human kind!

  • Agreed. The general mindset of organized religion (Believe what I say or I'll kill you) makes me want to drive nails through my face.

But the music and art, the culture that various religions have generated over the centuries? Beautiful.

  • Well said my friend! 100% agreed. Ty

  • so, you pick what you soothes your senses and discard what hurts your sinful lifestyle. nice.

  • Why not? Religion's not perfect.

  • Exactly! Some people say they hate organized religion, but generally speaking, what they're really saying is, "I don't want to be a part of anything that will infringe upon my shady lifestyle."

  • this helps to keep devil's away

  • i'm a little disappointed with the sound quality on this vid, since that's sorta the point of the whole thing...

  • it is so good it sounds fake?! I want to hear them speak before singing?!!!

  • Excuse me, they weren't finished... :/

  • dude some remixin' does need to happen.

  • amazing performance, wonderful !

  • im a muslim and we belive in jesous and i must say its a wonderfull and powerfull singing God bless them

  • lol dont muslims just think of him as a prophet and denounce christians?

  • doesn't mean they don't believe in him though

  • why didn't I see THEM when I went to the Vatican?!

  • simply divine.

  • And I say unto thee... Word.

  • Wow, they were good.

  • extraordinary voices, blending and techniques =) bless you all, Fathers =)

  • Lovely

  • There are rarely any music out there that really lifts your emotions and touches you emotionally. I've noticed with classical music (check out Mozart- requiem)as an example, it really really gets you feeling emotional. I don't know what it is in the music, but it's just beautiful.

  • real men can sing 'Panis Angelicus'. :)

  • wow they are amazing!

  • Gorgeous! Reminds me of Mass when I was little...

  • Great!

  • niiiiiiiiiiiiiceeee
