  • Is Mom playing bass?

  • awesome, I love it... great job covering great music from fusion's heyday!!

  • great drumming now try to get the headbanging in but sounds intense

  • It's called CONCENTRATION! Very good guys!

  • Boy, you guys look like you're having TONS of fun.

  • I'm pretty sure this tune is supposed to be in 9/8, not 4/4

  • theyre playing in 9/8 arent they??

  • nice job, its pretty hard to get the drums tight with the backing track

  • nice!

  • you guys rock, should do head for backstage pass or led boots !! you guys could pull it off for sures

  • Those are two of my favorite Jeff Beck songs!

  • Thanks for showing what the drum part for "Scatterbrain" looks like! Excellent work! What a great father & son jam!

  • God you guy's know this music better than most folks I know. I'm impressed. I could join the chorus and say - a little tighter please, but it's unfair. Extremely good job.

Right now I'm in search of wacky phrasing for the hh and snare on the 9/8 part of Scatterbrain. Very tricky. Yours was a good try.

  • Does anyone know where I can find MIDI examples of this album? I am looking for clavinet parts. Thank You

  • My only real criticism is that the son does not seem to into a real groove during his performance. I believe he has studied the albums & has the mechanics down, but this song has a lot of funk inside, and he doesn't seem to capture that. Otherwise, I think it's great that you guys are jamming together. My dad doesn't even play guitar, nor did I grow up living with him, so that's two bits in your favor.

  • 素晴らしい演奏です。それも親子でなんて素敵でしょう。

    (o^∇^o)ノ

  • First of all; you guys need to calm down. Second i want to see mom on bass and sis on keyboards. Kidding, great job very professional sounding!

  • A lovely version of a great song. Now how about something off of Stratus,(Cobham).

    G. England.

  • Just wondering, do you pick every note in scatterbrain or is it more legato?? I'm just learning it at the min and am not sure which way to do it. Thanks

  • Every note is picked except the 4th phrase - the last five notes are a string bend up and down to a pull-off and the last two notes are a picked to a pull-off.

  • thanks v.much! Hopefully I'll have my version up here soon. ;)

  • awesome!!

  • the lack of visible enthusiasm is flat out HILARIOUS

  • When the video is converted to FLV the more movement the noisier the picture will end up after compression... so we purposely kept things kind of stale that way. We just wanted to show how we could play it. We're not trying to "put on a show". Nuff said.

  • rofl freaaaaaaaking nice

  • I wish my Dad could play like that!! Great Job guy's.

  • this is completely awesome

  • Excellent!

  • Thats some good drumming son.

  • wow you very good drummer sin your other vids aswell keep it going well done the only little neg thing i would say in all respect is move about a bit nod your head that sort of thing look like you loving what you doing

  • Point taken. Yeah, I look like a robot on those drums. I'm workin' on it...

  • Great job...it's must be really fun playing with your dad like that! Keep it up, it's sounding nice!

  • well done, i wish i could jump in and play the bass lines with you guys.. I will be posting a video of myself playing over Scatterbrain shortly.

  • that is so beautiful

    thank you guys for sharing

  • Thanks, more music to be shared later.

  • good..sometimes simpler is better

  • well payed. Are a band too? i´d like to hear some imporvisation of you two. bye

  • Very cool

  • did you guys record the audio and video in seperate takes? cause thats some pretty good camcorder sound right there

  • No, we recorded everything at once, and just threw away the audio from the camcorder. It was easy to sync the recorded audio of the drums and guitar(from the hard drive) to the video footage. I touched up a couple of spots on the guitar track... but we can play it just like this live, anytime, anywhere. We'll be posting a couple more Beck tunes when I have time, using the same technique. It's my sons drumming ability that I want to be noticed.

  • nice dudes you guys are amazing...three things...what kinda mics are ya using and how much were they...also what guitar r ya playin?...altogether you guys are freekin sweet

  • Thanks dude, you are awesome...three things... I'm using Shure and Audio Technica vocal mics on the kit, odd but clearly it does work (contradictory to my username) I don't know how much they're worth, and my dad is using a Kramer Pacer Series guitar. Thanks again. Altogether, your comment was freakin encouraging.

  • You guys are great. I would love to jam with you. Keep it up.

  • After 30 years, you've brought 'Scatterbrain' back in the mix...and sounding as fresh as 1975...you two have the talent in the bloodline too. How about some more Jeff Beck? Keep up the great work!

  • After 30 years, you've brought 'Scatterbrain' back in the mix...and sounding as fresh as can be...you two have the talent in the bloodline too. How about some more Jeff Beck? Keep up the great work!

  • Very very nice, but for the drum part on scatter brain it's a little slow. It's a hard song so it's understandable so just practice up and you'll nail it.

  • You're right about the speed. That was only at first. For the rest of Scatterbrain, I was actually playing with the song.

  • I didnt know they made robots that look like humans...and can play instruments!

  • This is a video for our fellow musicians, to see us play it out (almost) note for note. It is not supposed to be "entertaining" in any other way. I suggest you look at some of the other 50 million posts on YouTube for that kind of thing. You seem to be a little "critical". What can YOU do?

Thanks to all others for your encouraging words.

  • amazing, nice drum kit....mine sounds like shit...

  • With mics are on the drums please tell me The drums sound is so smooth... Nice play by the way

  • Hey man cool song. I'm a 15 year old drummer also. I play a lot of funk and neworleans (stanton moore) Style. Cool playin.

  • Great job!

  • fantastic collaboration, well done! Dad & Son both rock!

  • You guys rock

  • Blow by Blow was way ahead of it's time in 1975, and still is today!

  • I love that part at the endof thelonius Blowbyblow one of my all time favorite albums
