I'm no Architect and I've not seen the buiding, but this is the best TED talk I've seen and heard ,so far. This guy's a great presenter because he doesn't waffle on and not actually say very much. He's concise, articulate and very informative. This is the first TED that has captivated me the whole way through.
When I first saw it ,I thought it was hideous..but once you go inside, it's actually pretty damn impressive...you can spend an entire day in there exploring..I'm now a huge fan..it just works!
Interesting projects and approach . The language used is architectural as terms and general way of looking at thinks . So is this the next architectural current ? after modernism ?
@gegarner86 Excuse my ignorance, but what does that mean? I'm still trying to figure it out and I'm curious as hell. I'm not an architect so I'm completely unfamiliar to many concepts of architecture.
awesome video. I'm doing a project on thissame library, basically asking what's so important about the building and how it impacts its community. Any feedback?

True, it is an interesting approach, but the result is hideous, it would ruin any skyline...

@crossingthechannel
Joshua built as the project architect when he was in OMA.
And split in 2006 and created REX.

I saw Joshua Prince-Ramus speak this summer in DC. He was amazing.
My favorite thing he said: "Form doesn't follow function. Form f*cks function." The more you think about it, the more sense it makes.
