trunks was from a different time line. he didnt go to the right past. this was explained in the show.

u kno wutz wierd in the manga there was a chapter basiccaly going over the history of trunks and it was in color in shonen jump and gohan and trunks were training but the wierd thing is trunks was already a super saiyan before gohan died

trunks kills the androids after he comes back from the past to warn the z fighters about the androids arriving in their time and he also gives goku the heart medicine so he doesn't die
