  • What a beautiful little boy he is!! He is obviously well loved, and loves well. Here's wishing him a full life filled with love and laughter

  • My son kayden above is now 10 years old now by the way..he is amazing and healthy you have no clue lady robertlee...did you not watch thus video and see just hiw happy he is? We love him nd he has made our life better.we do nit think he is a burden at all.

  • What is normal? What is the age that one becomes valuable? And who is to decide this? I can tell you that these babies bodies may be differently abled but their spirit is not broken. Their spirit is bigger than ours. They got it right, we got it wrong. Listen to your comments. With a spirit like yours, your bodies mean nothing. Nobody cares what your body can do, but your heart and spirit and love is what carries on.

  • I am sure at times it has been hard, but seeing his smile and the family together, both Kayden and you have been blessed. Wishing you many more loving memories!

  • Bless his heart!

  • I just would like to know if you knew during the pregnancy that this child would be born this way ? and if you did, why would you not have chosen to abort ? There are some things in this life that are worse than losing a child before it's born.

  • @MsRobertelee Why on earth would you say something like that? Look at the pictures! This boy is happy and his family is getting to enjoy him while he is with them. You cannot judge till you have walked in their shoes. They made the decision that was best for them based on their beliefs and capability to deal with their son's disabilty. Shame on you for suggesting they should have aborted!

  • @ThePhotomama Shame on ME ?? Shame on them for deliberatly bringing a child like that into this world. Life is hard enough withwout causing so much pain to the other members of the family, and also to the child. You people are such a bunch of religious hypocrit pigs. I say abort any thing that's not normal. If you don't and you CHOOSE to deliberatly HAVE it, like Sara Palin and the rest of the dumb bastards that have these babies; then don't expect sympathy from others.

  • @MsRobertelee

What a cold, hard, ugly person you are. Very selfish.

  • @MsRobertelee

Listen here you coldhearted bitch! Why dont you fly around the whole world and tell everyone of us trisomy moms what you are saying. I doubt you will, because you are a smallminded peice of SH*T! Unless you have went through what we have/are/will, then dont you dare run your mouth. and if you want too, have the balls to not hide behind a social network/media site! Im in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, if you want to say something..would you like my address and phone number?

  • @MsRobertelee

Hell I will even buy you a first class ticket!! Then I will even give you a FREE trip to hell! God doesnt like your kind..I will pray for you..because you will one day feel his wrath!!

  • @MsRobertelee If thats what u believe thn ur mother should have aborted ur ass because u r the only not normal one I see on this page! I didnt knw about my childs condition n if I did I would still kept her. I am not very religious but I do beleive my child is here 4 a reason n has made mine n so many others life better. There is more to a person thn wht there body can do. Its wht they do with there hearts n soul. My childs not n pain shes happy n

  • @trisomymom U have NO idea wht u r talking bout. If u had a child expected 2 be "normal" thn it turn out 2 have a condition but was still surviving u would just kill it u would starve it or smother it or do nothing at all but watch it die just because u think its not normal.

  • @trisomymom Heres a thought... From a wise girl (Normal is defined by what you are used to. This means that everyone's perception and definition of what "normal" is is different, or so I assume, since I've yet to meet a single person who's had the exact same experiences as another and had the same impressions, perceptions, thoughts, etc. Anyway, my conclusion to all of this was that it was perfectly "normal" to be different, and rather different to be "normal".

  • @trisomymom BTW UR A BITCH....... and have a very cold heart and im so very glad you were not graced with the gift of a child like mine because you do not desirve it!!

  • Such a cute little boy!!! My sister just had a son (Emerson) this summer that has Trisomy 18. He's 4 months this week.

  • You have a beutiful son. My partner & I are expecting our son late april 2011. He has been dignosed Trisomy 9 Mosanic. Doctors said to abort a mth ago??? I can not do that, though I have 2 other children & 3 step children I am upset to hear the words 'quality of life',,,for whom?? I as a father have already accepted my role as a parent, why should I put my sons life aside when I already love him no matter what happens I will be their for him...God Bless you all

  • You have a beutiful son...My partner & I are expecting our son late april 2011. The doctors said to abort a mth ago??? Being a parent I can't believe they would say due to the childs quality of life. My partner who's a nurse is on the same wave length of the doctor but I've persisted, I am a proud father already & is willing to give up my work life if need be to have my son part of a family life. God Bless u all.

  • I just had a daughter 1/4/2011 with trisomy 18 i also thank god daily for givin me the chance to get to know her. My doctors did not believe she would make it this far she also has to be on oxygen, feeding tube and ostomy bag. I pray for u and ur family

  • @horseloverws i was born with it lucky to say i survived born 1987 22 now =)

  • @horseloverws i mean 8 not 18 lol stupid me

  • i love this! god does amazing things for his children!~

  • @samspumpkin lol wat? like killing 99% of them before age 10?

  • @maskoftwilight

nooo...how God makes miracles. Some of these babies don't make it in this world for longer then a couple or few hours. And for these families to have the pleasure of having their kids this long, is a gift.

-I dont like your comment too much. If you want to think thats what I meant, go right ahead. I guess you're in the need to make yourself chuckle. "Good one".

  • @samspumpkin My brother died at 26 wks gestation - just feeling him move and stretch was my mum's reward. He liked music - he squirmed and kicked when my mum sang lullabies for my sister. She wouldn't have it any other way - he was sent here by god and fulfilled his purpose sooner than anyone imagined he would. He saved my mum's life - she had kidney issues not discovered till all the tests to see if he had a chance, she would have died if not for him. He was a miracle.

  • @rileyrossi

im sorry for both of ya'lls loses. i think it can be so hard dealing with all the emotions bc its not easy knowing the baby can leave ya'll soon. im glad you see him as a miracle. for him to help her realized that before it was too late for her. i hope you have peace in your heart and know that hes in a better place. a place where he is perfect. <3

  • @samspumpkin it is hard to deal, i know he is somewhere better than here where he is healthy - I couldn't imagine him anywhere but in a place of peace

  • u are very lucky . I had a lil girl 3 years ago and she had trisomy 18 . I was 6months pregnant when i had to have her . Her heart beat for 2 hours . And then she passed away. U are very lucky

  • Kayden is a happy boy.

God bless him and his family.

  • Thanks. God bless you. Please pray for us.

  • He is such a beautiful boy...one of God's miracles. His pictures truly touched my heart. Peace and blessings to you and your family.

  • @memyma your story is amazing. Kayden is so inspirational! Our daughter, Lydia, has trisomy 18 as well and she's only 9 weeks old. We are trying not to let ourselves be overwhelmed by the tragic prognosis but it's hard. We are plagued by her chances of survival and are wondering what is your secret. Does he have a VSD? Did you have heart surgery? ? What can we do as parents to ensure the same outcome for our little Lydia?

  • We lost our first daughter to Trisomy 18 two years ago, she was gone shortly after labor started, but I'm glad that I got see her. I wish that I had known then what Trisomy 18 was, we would never have terminated her, but we would have been forewarned about what we were up against. We were warned that our second child might have it as well, but Dr.s aren't always right, our second daughter is a beautiful, healthy 1 year old as of June.

  • God bless u and ur family... and kayden.. ur such a great mom.. lovely home... lovely family... great love!! thank u for sharing...

  • What an amazing story!Thank you for sharing!

  • What an inspiration. My son had Trisomy 18 and did not make it to birth. You are so lucky to have him. . . . and functional. I think it is wonderful!

  • he is beautiful. and you can tell he loves that dog. :)

  • what a precious little boy! you are so blessed!

  • i'm learning about trisomy 18 in Biology and it's so heart breaking to read about all the different stories. I'm so glad your son was able to live this long. he's beautiful and seems so happy. i hope one day we can fully cure this devistating disorder

  • He's a very happy little boy

  • You guys are just GREAT!!! God bless You all!!

  • My cousin just died from Trisomy 18. She was twenty four days old. We will miss you my sweet Isabella :(

  • what exactly is trisomy 18?

  • trisomy 18 means you have three #18 chromosomes. most children with trisomy 18 only live for a few months so this is truly amazing

  • My sister has Trisomy 18. She is a miracle and is 23 years old and healthy. She is pretty much like any other person, though she does have the mental and growth delay. To strangers she probably seems like a regular 10 year old. She can speak normally and has a vibrant and social personality.

  • my sister had trisomy 18. She only lived for 3 days. Loved ones lost are loved just as much as loved ones here. I love my sister, even though i never met her. your son is wonderful.

  • My nephew had Trisomy 18. I remember the day my sister told me about the diagnosis. My heart broke. I did research, trying to find some hope. He was born into heaven. We miss him so much, we love him, and will never forget him. Thank you for sharing your story. Your son is beautiful.

  • ive seen a few videos of babies with this disorder,im curious to know what trisomy 18 is? kayden is a lovely little boy,he looks very happy x

  • trisomy 18 is a rare genetic disorder where there are 3 copies of chromosome 18 instead of 2. Most don't make it to birth and if they do only 5-10% make it past the first year

  • I had a daughter on Jan.7 2009. She was born with trisomy 18. She is now 7 months old and doing great. When she was born the doctors told me she wouldn't even make it home from the hospital. She eats on her own and has no difficulty breathing. We probably wouldn't have known anything was wrong with her if it wasn't for her little thumb on one side that is not attached to anything.

  • Wow... Kayden is a great little guy! I have a mosaic Trisomy 18 girl. She also does pretty well. She is 5 years old and has delays with gross and fine motor skills as well as speech. Thanks for sharing your story. All positive information helps!

  • I had no idea kids with this disorder could live for years. Is he mosaic Trisomy 18? I have a son with an extra Y chromosome, and it's often the case when parents learn this diagnosis prenatally they will terminate. My son is doing fairly well, although he has learning disabilities. But he participates in normal activities just like any other boy. Kudos to you all for sticking it out with your boy.

  • What a beautiful family! Thank you for sharing this.

  • we have just learned our unborn child has trisomy 18,thank you for the inspiration to not listen to the dr and terminate the child ,god bless you/!!!!

  • @philanmarina same here,, just an hour ago

  • You are very blessed to have your little boy. God bless Kayden.

  • Kayden is a very special little man. Grandpa and I will be there with you for your surgery.

    We Love You

    Grandma Bonnie

  • Trisomy 18 is quite lethal recombination to have, it is remarkable from a genetics point of view to see the surviving of a few of the individuals. it is strange though that they tend to live this long, stranger in the case of this boy that he is mobile, since almost all trisomy 18's have dislocated hips not to mention spinal problems. I would suspect this boy to be a mosaic for the trisomy, strange aswell is that he is a boy 80% of tris 18's are girls. wonderful example of how wrong one could be

  • Now, i may not be very old, but i may be very wise for my age, i'

  • hi i'm loading kayden's video as i'm typing. im 32 weeks along and my son has been diagnosed with t18, he has no physical characteristica on ultrasound but has a vsd and mega cisterna magna. my only hope is he does as well as is possible. bless you and kayden both.

  • Hello Kayden's Mom . . . My grandson "Lance" is a full trisomy 18. He is 2.5 years and the delight of my life. I did not get 'sound' with the video so I'm not sure what Kayden's story is. How old is he? Is he able to stand? Talk? What a beautiful child. In some of the pictures - I see Lance. I would love to hear your story.

  • congratdulations on having such a wonderful child. i'm glad that he has been able to survive this long and he is truely blessed. just seeing this video has already touched me.

  • @memyma your kayden is so beautiful. I have friend whose child was just diagnosed to have trisomy 18. they were advised by doctors to give up and just let go of the baby. But I told him let God do what his boy deserves and they are up to now helping their baby cope up. his boy is now 1 month old and I am praying for a miracle and that God will let him live longer with his parents. Your post is very inspiring and I am almost in tears. God bless you and your family.
