I greatly miss this horse. =/ I used to ride under Max's breeder/ trainer, and often worked cooling out, and caring for Max. Also, I wanted to say this was a very beautiful freestyle. =]
I have a Percheron Thoroughbred cross mare - showing 4th level - No one thought she could go that far - training Pre St. George - Congratulations to you
We got a 65% for a final score and second in the class. However the class was a combination of First-Fourth level freestyles and the girl who won did a First Level freestyle. We had some minor errors in our ride but overall I had such a fun time-the music was so loud and really filled up the ring so I really felt like it empowered the horse. Our artistic marks were very good.
I love this! I also have a percheron mix and have been told by trainers that he will NEVER be a dressage horse but after only a few months they are eating their words. Great Job.
Thank you so much! I am hoping to show my young Friesian in a First level freestyle this year, I love performing to music, especially dramatic soundtracks like the one in this freestyle. The music is from the modern movie King Arthur.
Max was very interesting because he was so big, wide and clunky feeling but once he started moving he had such an easy time with the collected movements, piaffe and pirouettes. This ride had many mistakes but it was the only time we competed that freestyle so i wanted people to enjoy it. i think he definitely had some great thoroughbred influence but the size of the percheron.
What a beautiful horse! I love the way he moves - so light and fluid. He looks like a very workman-like fellow. I love the communication going on between horse and rider - practically invisible, as it should be. Truly a joy to watch.
Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if you think the thoroughbred, or the percheron in him has more influence over his movement?
This was a pleasure to watch! So many dressage videos are so hard to sit through. So ones horse is light in front, they skid terrible from behind and just dwon right don't enjoy it. Max and you look awsome! I hope you scored very well. I am now breeding my Trak/TB mare to a Percheron Stallion and hope I get something thing like Max....Jaime Ocala, Florida
Max was 1/2 Percheron, 1/2 Thoroughbred. He was an amazing soul and for such a large, wide horse he did piaffe/passage and canter pirouettes like a pro.

Percherons rule! Wish I had some hope of a trot like that out of my perchx some day! Is he 1/2 or 1/4?
