These people are willing to die trying to come to america than to stay in Mexico, its sad you know. These people just wanna eat man. No one realizes how hard it is to get to this country. Theres a lot of stuff we take for granted.
I am from Honduras like the main child in the Documentary, I just saw it today, this kid spirit is incredible, he was so positive. It is a sad reality that thousand of people emigrate ilegally to the USA, I am against any Ilegal emigration to any country. Two things came to my mind watching this documentary,. First how Corruption is the main cause for all this poverty, and second it is how some people can be so inhumane to this people once they are in the USA.
Because of my grandpa coming to america in 1940, I am today a 20 year old mexican american who makes 10,000 a month from google/ebay/ and many other companies as a free lancer, I believe its not the immigrants we need to worry about coming into our nation, its the Lazy people we need to focus on getting OUT OF THE USA....Okay that sounds radical, but seriously its the hardworker who deserves to be rewarded, and I can assure you in america there is too many lazy people of all ethics
How square is your life, how narrow your point of view. but your ignorance is so big you do not even recognize it, and even brag about it Mexico is North America, and the point of these video was not teaching you geography.

I was stunned to see the numbers of children riding on top of freight trains who were on their own for the journey North. I was also surprised to see the infrastructure that exists in Mexico to support the youths and others on their dangerous and frequently deadly migration to the US. Incredible courage on the part of the children as they seek their dreams.
this has got to be the most saddest, gut-wrenching documentary i have ever seen...it really brings to the very fore-front how priviledge and ungrateful are those of us who have the priviledge to live in america, to see so many young children with nothing but their dreams for a better future and the clothes on their back and their unbreakable spirit to push forward through such a difficul daunting almost inhuman journey, to risk everything for a glimmer of hope..its really heartbreaking
america? i hate it when ppl confuse united states with america. Ppl need to understand that america is made up by countries, not just usa itself. thats why usa is called north america and mexico and all the hispanic countries is south america. damn it! it pisses the shit out of me, ppl learn your history, your geography!
kINGNOSFERATU1,,, obviously you are too p@#$% that you end up missing the POINT!!!! get your head out of your A@#$ so you can see the reality of life not just geography!!!
south america starts with colombia, right below panama, which is part of central america with the rest of the central american countries up to belize and guatemala, that limits with mexico, you dumb morron, getting mad and still giving some wrong info..
This documentary was very sad but also very informative as to what migrant children go through growing up in poverty in third world countries. I totally agree with proveho they want just a very small share of what we all take for granted living in this nation. They come into this country doing jobs most average Americans would never do. May God bless those children and may they safely reach and fufill all they dream of. May God also bless those who help those children along the way.
This is a phenomenal documentary. It steers clear of opinion on immigration, and simply chronicles the journey of the children making their way north. The part near the beginning with the 10 year little boy in tears looking for his mother broke my heart, as did the part about the two teens who were found dead in the Arizona desert. This is real journalism, just outstanding. My biggest kudos go out to the director and all involved, including HBO.
I was 16 years old when I took that trip. It took me almost 6 months because I had to pass 9 countries. The worst part was when I had to walk from Colombia to Panama. There are no fricking roads...well, it's mostly swamp no wonder. All I had with me was a pocket Bible, a small English book, and my dog Niko. I had no one waiting for me in the USA...but that did not bother me. Eventually I became a US citizen, graduated from Nursing School and now I work in a hospital's ED.
@jethro006 I was woundering if you could tell me anything about the trip? Something that if someone was going to here your story you would want them to know and remember. I already using the Pocket Bible and Niko but whatelse? Did Niko make it all the way? What kind of dog was he? Was it hard to keep him with u? and just anything else. Thank you. (:
I commend the journalist who followed the boys on their attempt to make it across the border. These kids put their lives at risk just for a small taste of what most of us here in the US have and take for granted. Shame on all who joke about the children in this report. Several of the boys and girls who take these grave risk are children anywhere form the ages of 9 and 17. About 20% of them die before they reach their destination. Many of the mothers and daughters are raped.

This documentary on CBC's website under "The Passionate Eye" if you want to see it.
For those who don't know what the CBC is, it's just the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Google it.
