what also makes no sence in the fact that sta 7 is RIT for say 80% of the southern end of lehigh (except 31) and were there for an engine only when they have there rit truck at station with a full crew on standby, and a responce time of about 7 min Dont make much sence to me. But thats the way western does it. Backasswards
Do you really have nothing better to do than sit back and moan that things weren't done your way? The way Western does it works, and there's still a house there thanks to them.
Where do you get your info from? First of all most everyone uses Station 1 for RIT. PLUS Sta. 7 was on the second alarm, so why would you call them for the fire and the RIT? Maybe you should think before you post next time since you dont make sense. Oh and if i remember correctly the house is still standing, which is probably more than I can say for the houses in your district.
I have to agree with Metta, it sure seems like a LONG way for Alburtis. Isnt station 27, or a Northampton (SE-WY-CO maybe) County station closer? Surely Alburtis isnt the closest RIT to Salisbury Twsp.
Well I am not sure about SE-WY-CO but station 27 does not run RIT either. I do know station 11 has a RIT but they are both probally the same length away. When 3101 went responding he called for station1 so maybe they have something set UP?
I just Google Mapped this: from Alburtis Fire Company to 3058 Sussex Rd. is 22 minutes - and that doesnt include disptach and time to get the RIT apparatus to leave the station. This is REDICLULOUS! 30 minutes - ATLEAST - from RIT request to On-scene?! Rethinking RIT seems like a GREAT and NECCESSARY idea IMHO.
Any station should be able to do RIT, especially one with a truck company. It's not the most enjoyable job standing around watching but it's a very important job for firefighter safety. BTW, City of Allentown probably would have been the closest of departments not already called and on scene, not to mention they likely would have had a quicker in response.
i was the first one there, i arrived as the first police car did, i live a block away, the entire rear of the building was in flames and 31-12 arrived and used its monitor to knock it down
Fountain Hill was put on standby (station 34) at Eastern Salisbury Fire House. I heard over the intercom it was 3rd alarm, Eastern Salisbury 20-12 departed at 10:30 and 2nd when 20-11 at 10:32. Then 10:36 20-41.

I like the white helmet wearing a vest under the air pack looking in the window!! what are you looking for or are you trying to get your face burned.

no not any company can do RIT. you need to be properly trained first!!

27 would only get one person for 20 pieces.

fountain hill needs to learn how to put fires out first. Do more than save foundations.

Why was Alburtis assigned and dispatched the RIT and Fountain Hill placed as a Stand-by? Isnt Fountain a hell of a lot closer than Alburtis?

Because station 1 has a RIT and 34 does not

Understood. It justs eems like a LONG way to travel. Maybe Lhigh County should re-evaluate its RIT system.

I agree with you 100%

All of 31's trucks carry RIT equipment, and Alburtis is usually on scene within 15 minutes of dispatch. Cry about it.

In Lehigh county there are only certain companys that run RIT. It may be diffrent in other countys, but that is how it is in Lehigh county
Cetronia3 3 years ago 3
@ehirner engine 11 from allentown would have been the closest physcially, 711 was onscense for suppresion, not for RIT, 1 and 31 have a system set up

Station 31 awesome save. The main part of the house is still standing. Keep up the good work.
