Being an officer is being a leader and when you start off as an enlisted man you will not only know what the enlisted man is feeling but you will have his respect. My dad could have been a Marine, be he got denied and had to join the Army, But I already took my practice ASVAB, probably take my real one next year or so. I'm going enlisted.

as a Security Forces Marine i've trained with Marines who trained and went to boot and school of infantry in both west and east coast. They are the same, as far as Marines go. Physically and mentally. I've seen shitbags from both; and Marines who are on top of shit from both sides. A Marine is a marine. You will only argue east/west coast bullshit if your a boot.

@MarineARFF We are all Marines no matter what side you come from...train the same, taught the same. Some of your drill instructors on the East Coast were probably West Coast Marines and vice versa. In the Marine Corps, the nautical expression "Aye, Aye, Sir" is used when acknowledging a verbal order. "Yes, Sir" and "No, Sir" are used in answer to direct questions. "Aye, Aye, Sir" is not used in answer to questions as this expression is reserved solely for acknowledgement of orders.
