Let me summon up how this theme in 2011 sounds like

Your remamber the good times back in the day then u first played this. time then 3d and ragdolls wure not yet invented . then counter strike has this old animation. where computer games wure not high rquierd for ur pc. where the genaration of earth was in pretty mutch classical age. Age of empires come thru the time line, to this day to this year aswell a Flashback is that it is and clasical game such as This one a Flashback! =)

@ZombieFighter95 i find it quite worthy of being part of the age of empires series, it plays like age 2, reminds me a lot of mythology, which is always a plus in my book and they kept the only new thing from age 3 that was actually good in a way, the treasures, and made it fit well with the new equipment system

@CristianApostol , plus, the way you unlock units and technologies is a nice way of limiting players during scenarios without actually enforcing specific limits for each scenario, for example in one map you have to destroy 15 fishing boats and two docks of the enemies so to play the scenario you must unlock triremes

@CristianApostol but if you don't have transports unlocked, which are not required to win the scenario, you can't get troops across the river to destroy the enemy's base for extra experience for your empire and collect extra items from treasure, i found this fitting punishment for not considering unlocking transports and instead focusing on unlocking military techs and new units

@CristianApostol and there are certain repeatable scenarios, on my first try of one of these i had yet to unlock cavalry and so had to use only infantry and archers but by the time i played it the second i was able to amass a large regiment of horsemen and just steam rolled the enemy's base, all in all it's a good game, on par with age 2, if not even better

PS:This is only my opinion and not God given fact, every person is entitled to their own views on this game.

@Ruttie2 yeah i agree with "it will never be the same" because when AOE3, EE3, and more came out they lost their touch on what used to make these games so satisfying, especially the gameplay and soundtracks. shooters are the new games this generation. the RTS age may have ended, but our love for the games havent. as long as they dont ruin the remake, i would say its not a bad idea. Microsoft created these games, but now they went too far in shoot games. no new RTS is the result
