I totally agree. I think this is what the Pukhtuns want. They want to be liberatet from Punjabis. The US should invest on helping Pukhtuns than trying to give Punjabis power to control them. This never worked and will never work. The US is wasting their $7.5billion on Pakistan. Pakistan will never be able to control Pukhtuns. So this cycle is going to be repeated if the policy doesn't change.

Any religious zealot of any religious background is a danger when they look down their nose at "non believers" they see as inferior. No one is saying everyone in the tribal areas are animals, but our friend in Lahore is in denial if he thinks hardcore Taliban elements are going to negotiate. If the Taliban was reasonable, they would have handed over bin Laden when we ASKED. Instead they see him as a hero.
