  • excellent job mate!!!

  • these guys have a better case than satriani, but who cares really

  • Link to download is in the description :)

  • @fixed48 There's been a link to download the song in the description the whole time :)

  • Freaking awesome, but I didn't see THAT ending coming. Were'd Zelda come from? LOLOL, but I love how you took this whole controversy and made such awesomeness from it. Well, it's an old controversy by now, but still. Nicely done.

  • Viva la Vida is my favourite Coldplay song

  • But I love this remix. This is definately a Favourite.

  • Lol the zelda bit at the end is because the lead singer of creaky boards retracted his law suit against Coldplay and said he thinks both him and the lead singer of Coldplay ripped off Zelda

  • haha i love it. especially the zelda bit at the end. well i'm a massive coldplay band. but i will admit that these two songs put together, as shown here, do fit pretty seamlessly, but i honestly don't think coldplay stole anything. who's to say they'd even heard the song. or maybe it was even subconcious. i don't know but i like both songs but i think its obvious viva takes the cake.

  • LOL ZElda

  • i was definitely just about to say that!

saved me the time, though, fave part of the song.

  • this is great

never heard creaky boards, but they sound good

    Coldplay rox

  • Lol this is awesome, did you have to change anything? Or did you put them right on top of each other

  • I genuinely love this.

  • some badass track here :)

  • Coldplay ROCKS!!!!

  • great mash

  • I don't see why a lot of people hate coldplay. They only know 1-2 songs by them, they have countless awesome songs, like Fix You, The scientist, and an infinite wealth of others.

  • i know

fix you pretty much is auditory pwnage

    its life in a bottle

  • @DanM25456 Clocks. Nothing need more be said.

  • A+

    love it

  • love the zelda music at the end

  • haha rock on Saritatje. Make love, not war.

and this is mos def a great remix, good job!

  • i think this mix beat coldplay and creaky board thats pretty smart combined the the song

  • hahaha, wat a great solvation. Why don't we just bring this dancehit out? No more fighting and madness. Make love, no war.

Great remix by the way (:

  • Coldplay is soo much better than creaky boards and viva la vida is much better than the creaky boards song. but, yankee3313 is right that if creaky boards had the money and equipment that coldplay does they cud probably be just as good. for the record, coldplay did not plagarise the other song. viva la vida is in the key of f minor while the other is in e major. further more, coldplay demoed viva la vida 7 months be4 creaky boards ever came out with theirs. but w/e. This is one great mix!!!

  • I don't know, the Creaky Boards lead singer bites if you ask me..

  • Comment removed

  • How ever you feel about either band this is still i pretty sick mix

  • coldplay ftw

  • coldplay is way better than crappy boards

  • +1,coldplay is really better than any other band!!

  • coldplay really is!

  • why? because they are popular and you already knew about them? if creaky boards had all the opportunity that coldplay has had and all the equipment/ expensive produciing atmosphere i bet they are just as good or better

  • Did you change the key of "The Songs I Didn't Write"to match "Viva La Vida"? It sounds down a half-step. Very nice mix btw.

  • Hello Andrew!

    Im Chris!

  • Now what is ironic is that the creaky bourd song is that it is called "the songs i didn't wright". LOL!

  • Well truthfully we have no proff of them steaing the songs and there is only a little bit of notes played in each song so they may have just gotten mixed up in somthing but like a said there is no proff they did that eaither so therefore anything could be said and found out

  • Ha. Zelda in the ending.

  • Ahahahahahaaaaaaaa

  • I'm sorry, but the Save File Select screen from Zelda: Link to the Past absolutely killed the ending.

Other than that, I fucking loved it.

  • Awesome remix. This will get Creaky Boards a lot of new fans.

  • this is nice as shit

  • lmao zelda : D

  • Awesome.

  • coool song i love coldplay i gonna buy an cd from voldplay i love it the music

    i m a boy XD

  • Creaky Boars is obviously jealous...

I mean Bords, i mean brods, i mean sdraob, I mean Boards...

  • Next time, don't get drunk, do something more interesting. Like weed.

  • Um, Just my opinion here, but if you stole something, wouldn't you do it where no one would notice? =P

  • cool name

  • lol, thanks.

  • PugOfDoom: This is just untrue. Take, for example, Vanilla Ice's blatant and unattributed sampling of David Bowie's riff from "Under Pressure." Musicians borrow a lot but sometimes they steal. The difference is whether they are giving proper due where it is deserved rather than claiming it as their original work.

Here we have a situation where Coldplay's song and music video "Viva La Vida," which post dates Creaky Board's, is just a little too similar to miss.

  • I don't really get what you're trying to tell me. XD

I'm just saying that if I were to steal music, I would most likely steal from someone that almost no one has heard of, because it's less likely anyone will notice. I'm not saying musicians don't steal from large artists, just that it is a less smart move. I wasn't saying anything about the difference between "sampling" and "theft." I personally believe that there is a strong chance Coldplay stole the song, but I don't know. lol

  • yeah. people see a beautiful expensive video, the first reaction is the cheaper one is an imitation. but theyre both musicians, just one has more money, and he can very well be a music theif. its probably very stressful expecting to make another hit. why not steal music from someones noone even heard of? and is that freaking ZELDA music atthe end of the video?

  • What was the tune at the end by the piano?

  • Zelda's Lullaby?

  • The fairy fountain theme from the Legend of Zelda.

    Great mix by the way.

  • Coldplay's song is obviously better.

  • Why are you still talking about this? That's old news.

  • omg. amazing.

  • this is SOOOO good!! good job!!!

  • okay so this lil mash up is cool!! :D

  • I think Coldplay's song is 150% better and although there may be some similarities they are completely different!!!

  • mhm... but a music test programm in german TV said other things... over 30% of the song is similar with the other... and thats alot... think about the beat, the notes and how long the notes are hold... i think coldplay has known of this song and maybe has stolen it... MAYBE... no offence against coldplay... i like them too ;-)

  • that and satrianis...

  • well, i like coldplay but they should make their own songs... maybe its their own song! a very big concurrence but nobody could say exactly...

  • yes, i agree...

  • the band creaky boards came up with the songs way before Coldplay did. Coldplay copied the melody, and there is no amount of arguing that will convince me otherwise. I have mixed these songs together myself, and there is not trickery, Coldplay didn't pay a royalty fee, and the infringed on the copyright that creaky boards had on their song.

  • Actually they recorded a demo before creaky boards. Some weird info is it was inspried by Legend of Zelda

  • hey you Heyholetsgo564,ass hole dont talk about something you dont know, you are nobody and you will die alone, go to do that kind of comentaries to your mom fuck you coldplay rocks

  • @pacodi7

he has the right to state his own opinion so don't go fucking talking about his mom and his future faggit

  • haha I am a huge coldplay fan and I think that these sound a lot a like! Its funny how biases cause people to throw logic out the window

  • lol wt a fag

    (coldplay)

  • what the fuck?! these songs sound NOTHING alike!!!!

    this is retarded.

  • the whole melody of the vocals is pretty much the same

  • fuck Creaky Boards

  • fuck Djaffonso

  • fuck you

  • That's funny, both bands are fighting for which first robbed Satriani....

    Good luck, fucking thieves!!!!!

  • something tells me both bands would be annoyed at hearing this version

  • This is awesome. I agree with you, they are both amazing bands. People should just get over the fact that they sound alike, they're both really good songs.

  • joe can suck our coldplay lovin dicks

  • word.

  • Comment removed

  • damn right

  • Well, coldplay seems to like it enough to steal it so why not?

  • What ever you say about the Creaky Boards is your opinion, but it is still a copy. You have been conned.

  • This is awesome!

  • This is wonderful. :)

  • Zelda rox at the end. lol

  • tremendous stuff sir! I downloaded and now I give "props".

    Props. cheers. thanks.

  • Well i must say thanks to this issue alot of people got to know this band called creaky boards.

    Really good way to commericalise

  • Seriously, I listened to that song and I think I'm deaf ore something, cuz I can't discover any similaritys. By the way, this is so funny xD

  • it's not enough that they have to relentlessly churn out fetid bland garbage disguised as music for the already faeces engorged masses to consume......they have to steal other peoples music to do it,what a con!

  • hehe coldplay are douches

  • yo momma needs a douchebag cuz a horse fucked her last night

  • Interesting.

  • I think Cold Play is innocent. But the producers that told Cold Play to play the songs are the guilty ones. Stupid bitches just wanna make some cheap money. Throw in a couple of chords and solos they think they can cover up a song they ripped.

  • He is a thief!!! And without originality!!

He is a thief!!! And without originality!!

He is a thief!!! And without originality!!

He is a thief!!! And without originality!!

  • Can I get an MP3 of this emailed to me???? I want to jam in my car to this.

  • IT'S JUST CHORD PROGRESSION. These two songs are very very different if you have a musically trained ear. I personally don't hear anything similar except that they are in the same key and are both in 4/4 time (the Creaky Boards song is actually slower than this). And the refrains are NOTHING alike. Satriani and Creaky Boards are just picking on Coldplay because of a few minor similarities because they haven't heard the millions of other songs that have the exact same similarities.

  • The issue with satriani however is that, the tempo is the same and the harmonic and melodic analysis of the verse of Viva La Vida and the chorus of If I Could Fly are essentially the same. So, rhythmically, melodically and harmonically speaking they are the same. Whether or not Coldplay actually ripped it off or not, doesn't actually matter, all Joe has to do is prove that they could have had access to his music (easy) and that the theoretical analysis proves to be all too similar, which it is.

  • Oh I think he will win, or at the very least get some kind of out of court settlement. I just think that musical coincidences are more common than most ppl think. Plagiarism is a harsh claim. After all I would say that Coldplay's other stuff was original, it sucked IMO, but it was original.

  • Yeah, i agree.

There are tons of songs with the same chord progression. I respect the creaky boards and Satriani. I'm sure every song written has a song that sounds quite similar.

    Cheers

  • IT FITS PERFECTLY.

  • I see all these big comments...I'll keep it simply....Beatufull, thank you

  • Let's think of it this way, the only way someone can judge if they're similar is by the virgin ear.

So I made 3 people who have barely heard the Coldplay song, and never the Creaky Boards. Played it once, then played it a second time pointing out the two songs.

They didn't hear a difference 'till minutes into the song the first time around.

And the second time, they did, but after I pointed it out.

Love this mash-up, but I get tired of looking at Chris Martins face! Give us an MP3!

  • wasnt that tune at the end in zelda? lol, at least the super nintendo version?

  • Haha, one more thing.

The only thing I'm sure of is NO ONE stole SHIT from Joe Satriani.

    Wanna know why?

WHO THE FUCK LISTENS TO JOE SATRIANI?

  • go get shot.

  • Everyone's gotta get over it, like, courts will settle it, so leave your personal preference out of it.

They're all pretty good songs. And they all suck in there own way.

Chris Martin thinks he's God, hence the lyrics.

Creaky Boards are a little TOO stuck in the 70s.

And Joe Satriani doesn't even write real songs. It's more like an organized jam session. I'm sure he has other guitar riffs and progressions that sound like elements of REAL songs.

    Haha.

  • So does it mean that i just take Joe Satriani's songs and just put in my lyrics then i call it my song?

  • yes

  • sure! why not? there are songs on the top ten charts right now that use the same chord progressions. That's like if one drummer plays a beat, that doesn't mean someone else can't use it. It may just be the part that make sense for the song. In this case, we're talking about the melody. Unfortunately for Creaky Boards, he ends his phrases going up, not down like Chris Martin. Unless something's EXACTLY the same, there's no argument. I

  • And if Coldplay did actually "steal" the idea of the Creaky Boards' melody, he knew the variation makes them "different". You can't say someone stole your idea. With any market, an invention, a song, anything, if your idea isn't at least executed to a point where it's on paper, you don't own it. If i wanna open a coffee shop, and you do it before me, I can't sue you. As much as I feel like Creaky Boards deserves something for similarities, legally speaking, it won't happen. Nor Joe Satriani.

  • I hate how everyone acts like they know more. Ya know, it IS possible that no one copied anyone. If you use that progression (which is super easy) and start humming a melody you may just get this. They each just came up with similar things. The odds that 3 people picked SIMILAR (not exact) melodies for THIS chord progression, are actually quite high, given 1000's of years of music. I'm sure there are 40 other living people who could found similarities with something they wrote.

  • The ending blew my mind.

  • Nice ^^

  • Haha, fuck Joe Satriani.

  • it doesnt show anything except the songs arent similiar... and we and the part of creaky boarders is remixed...

  • Coldplay tops CreakyBoards.

  • nicely done!

  • haha

  • merge the joe satriani chorus and you'll be blown away. the tempo, melody, chord progression, and time signature are all the same. The coldplay producers stole this and thought throwing strings and vocals over it would cover them enough.

  • just dick off, okay? did coldplay copy every song that sounds remotely like theirs that ever came before theirs?? You satriani guys are such whiners. i say that coldplay's song can't be copyright infringement because their song is good and satriani's is lame, let alone the fact that theyre completely different genres and only one has words and only parts of thee songs sound similar.

  • Haha I won't dick off, just because you are a coldplay fanboy you think you can tell me/others who actually study music theory that we are wrong? lol. You can't even provide logic behind your opinion, "theirs is good and his is lame". Trust me, they wish they were as talented as Joe Satriani is, he doesn't need a bunch of pop producers to guide his career.

  • i gotta go with jamesperson on this one. coldplay's song is much better and i do have basis for that. just check itunes top 100 songs; do you see satriani up there? nope. do you see coldplay? hell yes. im not gonna try and persuade you that coldplay is better because you obviously wouldnt believe me, but the rest of the world blatantly feels that coldplay is better

  • So your basis is a top 100? My argument was not about sales or popularity, it was about who has more original talent and skills. Your response demonstrates the typical new attitude towards music: sales numbers. If music is taking that route for good, well then we're all screwed from a true variety, since the top 100 is probably your favorite way to determine who is good or not.

  • honestly, if someone heard the satriani song and the viva la vida on the radio, not knowing who satriani or coldplay were, do you really think the average person would like satriani's better?? he doesnt intend for his songs to be liked by the average person, he caters to rock guitar fans. the fact that means that it appeals to more people, not that everyone pretends to like them because theyre just jumping on the bandwagon.

  • Actually Coldplay recorded a demo waay before Creaky Boards performed it for the first time.

  • Actually, Joe Satriani recored his song years before that cute demo, there is some food for thought.

  • Sadly,

    Andrew Has Aids.

  • Sadly Andrew can't sing

  • not only is this awesome, and really well done, but it also shows how similar the songs are... silly coldplay.

  • oh yeah and u shoulda somehow added "That Oprah" by Swizz beatz too lol dat woulda been hot!

  • o damn that sounds really cool. good job with it! i wish u had a mp3 we could download lol

  • hey is there anyway you can throw the Joe satriani solo in here too? then it would be perfect

  • no shit

  • actually, according to Murray Chalmers, Coldplay stole the riff from Joe Satriani almost four years ago...so there's no way they stole it from Creaky Boards....

  • I don't think thats right. I think your thinking of when "If i could fly", the song that is claimed to be stolen by coldplay, that was released in 2004, and viva la vida was released only over the passed summer.

  • Yeah, I was just playing around, making a joke. : )

  • mauahuahuahuauha great!!!

  • "We totally refute their claims, and there are two facts that make it easy to disprove them," said the band's spokesman Murray Chalmers.

"First, on the night in October when the band say Chris Martin was watching them, he was actually working at the Air Studio in London, and we can prove that. Second, even if he had been at the gig, Viva la Vida was written and demoed seven months before the night in question, so it couldn't possibly have been copied."

  • that is so cool

  • Sweetness.

  • HAHAHA holy shit what video game is that ending part from?

  • isn't it from one of the Zelda games.... maybe the Oacharina(sp?) of time lol

  • rusefur, this is fucking awesome.

  • nice.

  • coldplay blows ass anyway lol yeah they suck

  • gtfo satch sux and it will remain so , but we know Coldplay rule him and abviusly he doesnt like them because they are way better than him.

  • LMFAO LMFAO coldplay better then satch!?!! hahaha satriani's music takes a little thing called skill to play. coldplay songs a fucking 5 year old could play. satch is a LEGEND who will never be forgotton, coldplay however will hardly be remembered

  • I do strongly doubt that. Satch is a pretty good guitarist, but he's certainly not as mainstream as Coldplay are. Meh, this whole fiasco is such a load of shit.

  • Moman893,Do you really think in this world today that what you said means shit? In the end nobody really gives a shit.Everybody listens to what they want anyway, for their own reasons.Personally,I listen to everything except lame ass country,(country blows),from Coldplay to NIN to TOOL to classical.Anyway Coldplay does have some good stuff.Besides this whole thing is basically over 4 chords that sound similar.People have plagerized shit from one degree to another forever so friggin' chill bro

  • wow i tottaly agree

  • Enanitos Verdes - Frances Limon is the original.

    Oh and great mix btw.

  • In fact, they both copied no-one.

  • Hello Andrew.

  • lol

  • creaky boards wrote the songs that i didnt write AFTER coldplay wrote viva la vida!

  • coldplay needs to try to write there own stuff one time! In stead of stealing someone else's music!!! SOMETIME YOU'LL FIND ITS FUN TO WRITE YOUR OWN STUFF INSTEAD OF STEALING OTHER PEOPLE STUFF!

  • They didn't u dipshit, The demo version of long live life was made months before this song was public. So shut the fuck up and research b4 u embarass urself on the internet

  • you're kidding right?

  • lol this is nice
