The fact he can play both modern fusion like this and still be a classical master shows his versatility. Just because you may not like this, doesnt make it shit. Just try to appreciate his skill rather than making judgements - i am sure you are not as good as him.
niladri was never a respected sitar player...he was always famous for his monkey gimmicks...being famous n being respected r two different things...shahid pervez,vilayat khan,ravi shankar,arvind parikh,etc were always respected sitar players as well as respected musicians...n they DESERVE...

im not sure you have any right to criticise niladri. Zakir would never chose someone who he didnt feel who had genuine talent. I have seen nildari twice, and both times he blew away the audience not only with his speed but his amazing classical performance aswell. Just out of intrest do you play music at all?
@jeevs94 zakir is a smart guy...he wont choose niladri for just any shows...he knows wht he is doing...he knows actually wht he wants to project...n he does it beautifully...n niladri is the only guy who has an audience who doesnt understand music...an audience who scream n whistle...such audience is never seen in any of the indian classical concerts...even for zakir...people clap for zakirs speed...i really hope one day people will actually clap for his mathematics!!!!

However the musicality of what they both play only comes with true talent, which is the beauty of indian music. Something you will understand if you have been playing music for a while. @jeevs94 zakir will regard niladri...zakir even have the highest regard for the watchman of shanmukhananda hall...thts not a big deal...niladri always have audience who whistle n scream in his concert...i mean tht cheap audience...coz he is a cheap gimmickry...it can be clearly seen tht he REGRETS being a sitar player...coz otherwise he would have never come up with something as stupid as a zitar which completely resembles the sound of an electric guitar...
@jeevs94 n niladri tries his worst to copy the great guitarist yngwie malmsteens lines as well as style of playing...he is clearly copying all the accents of an electric guitar...above all he sounds so cheap and disgusting when he is playing something like the top gun theme on his zitar...if u still appreciate this thing then i really have to admit there are many people who are not learned in the musical field...
