haha, great game, I played this one just because I was playing alphabetical (and I had all the roms). Who knew it would be such a great game?
The only problem is that it's pretty hardcore compared to other games. Get up to at least 5 levels more than you think you need, and you will be good.
as i was listening to you say all these great things about this game, i couldn't help but think "are we looking at the same game?" this game looks awful even for snes graphics.
Enjoyed watching your review. I agree with you for the most part. I think what made this so great was that it reminded me of the old NES days of RPG's (Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy). I loved the old school grinding of leveling up. It took me many years to finally kick this games ass and I find myself still playing it from time to time.
haha I generally agree with the review just that I thought the sound and music was awesome and well the defend and attack scheme while I can see how it could get irritating (especially when I defend and then miss my attack) but I guess I liked how it was a different way to build up your power.
dude. I have always remembered the crystal ball encounter system as a kid, but could never remember what the game was called. Although, I remember the game revolving around 1 main character of whom gets his ass handed to at the start. but maybe I was a kid and was getting my stories crossed. I'll have to check and see if this company made any other RPG's.
Played it, to be honest I didn't really enjoy it back in the day.
It was a bit too unconventional at the time and I lost interest. But I could see getting into it now that I've played many other(probably inferior) games and realized that the classics are the best.
I remember this game, and I'm glad you decided to talk about it. It was pretty fun when I played it. I especially agree about the battle graphics, quite awesome.
Huh, I beat threw this game a few years back and never knew that defending before attacking did anything

Ah, The 7th Saga. I owned this game and never finish it, it was too damn hard. Every damn encounter, the enemy can kill you.

Ack, if you find it annoying that this guy has slowed his audio by 25%, download 'Wavepad'. It's free and spam-free, and you can easily fix it.

I thought 7th Saga was amazing. Of course, it's the first RPG I had ever played (alongside FFVI), so that could have a huge factor in it.
Boss music is epic. :x

i remember playing this game as a kid and the grinding is the most tedious in this game. But i still plan on picking it up again.

Haha, so true. But can't you play it on an emulator and use the fast forward option?

Dammit, I meant the 7th Saga. Forgive me, I had worked pretty hard today, and I'm a bit tired.

It must have been Soul Blazer. also, this company made E.V.O which kicked ass.

Correction! it was without a doubt paladin's quest. Soul Blazer sucked.

There is a ton of grinding, and I felt like the whole Mode 7 thing was a bit overplayed. It has a bit of a Phantasy Star feel to it.
You said just 2 Enix games though. Not sure how you're going to pick from Actraiser, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma for the other one!
