@reggae1188 Well, FFIX and im sure FFXIV will be the same, but FFIX was well catered to the platform in how you play, there isnt a bar on the bottom with a list of moves to use, its much more of a strategy type RPG than an Action ior hack and slash RPG, giving you time to make choices while your fighting and what not, so It's actually very well done and suited for consoles.

To be honest, Guild Wars had a lot of appeal because it had solid gameplay considering no monthly fees, but online games that require monthly fees tend to do better because they release better expansions, allow for more updates and are just funded more effectively. Guild Wars 2 will do great, but FFXIV will no doubt do better.

People commenting on it's "slow" combat system are 9 times out of 10 WoW or EQ players lol. Yes the fighting system is slower in comparison to those games because FF games have a unique and trademarked fighting system through out all there titles.

There not looking to adapt around already set and been around MMO game standards. It's more of a thinking based game then a button smasher like most mmo's out now adays. I highly doubt it flops either seeing as the fan base in FFXI wasn't too bad at all, I think it ranged in the 4-6 millions ? Seeing as most of those players and more will flock over to this, it'll survive without a problem
