@C4pitalise You actually don't need one. You can use the built in Ableton Equalizer (8), and set it to M/S mode, switch to stereo mode, and then lower the bass region. Works like a charm!
-Your kick is just a straight sample with no compression or eq on it (I always thought this was a must!)
-All your compressors have the same settings, which happen to be the default settings (I have spent ages tweaking the att/rel/knee settings etc to not much avail)
-You only use insert reverbs, once again with the default settings (I always thought we were meant to use sends for reverbs)
You made me realise that no matter how simple, if it sounds good it works!
im a 15 year old looking to get mentored in being a dj and trance producer. here are some of my mixes done with software on my computer and no equipment
i have a problem with live, i can only use one chord or eles it doesnt work. i hope im explaining this righ. for example, your strings you used in this video use like 5 chords but if i do that it startes playing all the sounds randomly and not together, can anyone help?

@mullinizle13, I think that's the Z3TA plugin but u could probably make that sound with most synths, it sounds like the one prodigy used in the beginning of 'poison'
I think what your doing here is fantastic. You have made it in the industry and here you are trying to help others.
This is most generous and I for one thank you as music production to me is very important. You are helping me to improve. I hope for your sake Karma exists as I have sent you a ton :]

Hey! First of all... great tutorial and awesome track there!! I have 1 question... When I arrange things I never seem to have enough room for the main melody since the other sounds are to loud and the melody doesent even come up..
He's using windows not mac, if it were mac there would be an apple symbol in the menu bar because thats how OSX works, plus when he opens the VST plugin you can see the windows title bar not Mac.
Jesper, I salute you. Everytime i watch one of your videos, it gives me the inspiration to go make a track INSTANTLY, and everytime i make a track after watching ione of your videos I make a belter!! I guess thats why you make these videos, to keep producers evolving and getting better, well man, your definately helping me, i use your ideas and techniques, and make my own music with them, never copying your work, but the Airbase sound is definatly in there!
Just a question, I see that you use z3ta+. What I am wondering about is how you got it to work on a mac. The versions that I see for sale only work on windows.
@AirbaseOfficial haha phew. The z3ta track in this video caught my attention as well, but then i relized the whole thing is in fact, running Windows. This will be a most missed synth when i switch from Sonar 8 to Ableton [mac]. Sylenth, here i come.
why do you put each drum on a different track instead of using drum racks? Nothing bad, just wonderin if there was maybe some pros to doing it your way
excellent, insight into your track, I must try harder to use Lives own plugins, What settings and plugins do you have on the master channel generally? could you do a short vid
