It's kinda weird how one episode ends and the other starts. The end of the 5th episode Sophie walked out of marks flat pissed off and now the start of the 6th and they are fine again.

Each series covers a year. If you watch all the eps there are hints to this.

If you then break that down that means each episode covers an average of 2 months, meaning 3 eps is 6 months or over, easily enough for two people to get together.
