Is the hd telly that sky and virgin advertise worth the money?.I have got a full hd tv,and so far ive watched blu ray dvds which i'll admit were impressive,but to get the top packages for sky and virgin were abt 75 and 62 quid a month.

ah but upscaling has a lot of downsides, it's never going to be true HD, in fact the effect of upscaling can never be guaranteed, i mean, the picture looks smoother, but is not HD.

well the thing is most movies are shot in High Definition, people just dont understand what it is. all High definition is the resolution. Hd starts at 1440x720 hence 720p

Hd starts at 1280x720 mate. Although thats the lowest HD, full HD on television is 1920x1080.

Although many pc users have resolutions way way higher than that :)

@mercedesbenz4- They are not likely to broadcast an advert for SKY HD on their HD channels are they? The people watching these channels already own HD and so the advert would be pointless. They advertise it through the channels that are non-HD.

iv gt sky hd. i couldnt really see the difference. bt im a real football nut and i watched the under 20s tournament last year on eurosport hd and the detail is so fine u could literally see each plane of grass it was that great. i also saw the detail on american chopper. i rckon it is worth it but dont record usin the sky+ feature u can only record a few things. also it depends on tv and hdmi cable

The music for the advert is great. The song is very slow, as are the slow moving shots. And the lyrics say 'show your true colours' which could be saying the HD will have soooo many different types of colour and all that.
