  • "By their deeds ye shall know them." - The Bible

And to think they do it for nothing more than a few extra feet on their super-yachts... Sad, stupid and sick in their souls (those that still have one).

  • ‎"To err is human but to really F*** things up requires the venal, self serving, soulless corruption of a corporate executive out to make a quick, easy buck in the here and NOW from the destruction of all our children's futures - even his/hers. Hell is too good for them but will do... (I can hear the gates of the Abyss opening wider and the delighted screams of demons and devils enraptured by the burgeoning corporate candidates blindly sprinting their way... )

  • Evidence please... not sloganeering.

  • that what a free market does cause better quality food

excuse me...a free market created mad cow disease amongst other things, where mass farming methods, end up feeding dead sheep to cows,, mmmm tasty!!, and uncontrolled use of pesticides has created dead zones in the oceans, including a huge one in the gulf of Mexico...you can bury your head as much as you want and believe the propaganda of the corporations...just wait until you discover the effects on future generations

  • Yeah, who needs 80-year life spans anyway. We should all go back to eating pre-GM food, no vaccines, no antibiotics, no sewage systems, and just treating people with trepanning. This way we bring that average life expectancy back down to 35 as the good lord intended. Yay anit-scientific ignorance!!

  • @mjr256 i love ur comment!!! ppl do need to do their research before they talk about what they dont know!!

  • EU has already banned GMOs-Watch "The World According To Monsanto" free through GoogleVideo then, King Corn & Food Inc. at Netflix-The USDA & FDA never felt it necessary to inform us that were buying and eating experimental food & cloned meat-We have been biotech's Guinea Pigs. Research RoundUp Ready herbicide-Glyphosate-and Pharming-Learn more, Follow GMWatch on Twitter or hashtag #GMO. Monsanto, makers of Agent Orange & rBGH. You may be surprised by the truth?

  • Anyone who believes this crap is stupid and probably believes that guns kill people.

  • It's not the secrecy of corporations that make people suspicious but fear-mongering conspiracists like yourself.

I concur with arcannar below. This video is anti-scientific, superstitious nonsense and it never ceases to amaze me how people can fail to notice that modern medicine and health measures have increased the average life expectancy by 30 years in the 20th century alone. Our lifestyles are healthier, much of our food & water is healthier & our medicine is superior to that of the past.

  • Comment removed

  • @mjr256 I guess they dont know that they need to thank biotechnology for their medicines. I hope they refuse the medicines too!!!!

  • This is a propaganda video against GM foods plant genes are NOT being fused with animal genes, plus there are no peered reviewed articles of SCience that prove any cons and they are also highly regulated. and to sell more roundup that stupid it create better food that what a free market does cause better quality food + selective breeding which has been done for hundreds of years changes genes like GM but slower and less controlled

are countries are having famine you idiots

  • @arcannar Have you heard about the studies done showing that mice who were fed GM corn and soybeans had babies that became infertile and developed reproductive and other health problems after three or four generations of mice had been born?

  • YHWH gave us seeds, plenteous& abundant so that we made nourish our bodies & families.

    GM is corrupt & antichrist.

Not to mention, the NUTRIENTS that YHWH designed to NOURISH are being depleted.

  • @GOTTshua What nutrients are depleted? You clearly do not know about GMOs. They add more nutrients to them as a matter of fact. And since we were given seeds, we were also given viruses that kill our plants. We should be thankful for those too, right?Praise YHWH!!!!!! Without genetic engineering we would not being to make plants that are resistant to the viruses. Plz go and do some research.

  • GM is 666.

  • for those who still need more proof, watch" the world according to monsanto' its free on google video and youtube.

  • hehe. Whatever the problems of human selfishness or stupidity are, the problem in this world is that our way of living has led to too much people!! Until a lot of us die, helping things fall into an equilibrium, not much is going to change. And the best part if it is that the world is going to take care by itself. We don't need to do much. We want it or not it is going to happen. Maybe in a 100 years, maybe tomorrow. I do think is coming quite close tho. It is exponential.

  • Thank you. It's very well explained. I have worked in India and seen the disaster of cotton GMO.

  • ENjoy youre transgen gmos ! and youre cancer

  • Feudalism worked in the past before some lazy people tricked people and spun the truth. Today, corporate ownership of seeds and patenting all seeds, even non-GMO seeds can work too. Corporate farming creates jobs. Family farms do not. Vote NO to laws that hurt jobs. Vote YES to allowing Monsanto to liberate us from high priced organic foods and greedy family farms.

  • Is this a joke? Go watch Soylent Green.

  • That was to LatteLiberal

  • yes, corporate farming creates jobs... right!... you mean jobs that pay 14 to 20 cents an hour, all over the third world, right?. Very close to 3 billion people "survive" with $2.5 or less a day, thanks to these corporations (not only in the farming industry, of course, but in general).

  • Around 650,000 Haitians work in sugar plantations (owned by american and european corps.), they have to cut 1,000 kilos of sugar cane daily to receive a 2 dollar a day pay!, sometimes they work under extremely high temperatures (100+ degrees), they go without food all day and only eat some rice and green beans at night (if they are lucky), sometimes all they can give their kids to eat is some sugar cane! This is NEO-SLAVERY, NEO-COLONIALISM or as the big-shot economists call it: NEO-LIBERALISM!

  • One might ask; who do you trust? The Creator Or the Chemist? I would go with the former, {he/she} seems to have done a great job till the chemists and engineers got a hold of the Helix. Let alone what we have collectively have done with our choices and its effect on the atmosphere. BTW if we are creating this "inconvenient lie" then why are the ambient temperatures increasing on the planets as well.

  • oh and all the flavr savr tomato is is they knocked out a gene in the tomato. that's all. they didn't splice anything. all they did was knock out the gene that codes for a protein which breaks down the tomato, making it rot.

  • Ignorance is simply not knowing the facts. Stupidity is seeing the facts, the scientific proof, but refusing to accept this information because it goes against my beliefs. A mind is like a parachute, it works better when it is open!

  • No that's actually called denial. Stupidity is replying to posts that are over a year old.

    Looks like your parachute jammed!

  • Sorry I was not aware that there was a time limit to leave comments on youtube. Now I am less ignorant :) Sometimes the truth is impossible to embrace because of our deeply ingrained belief systems that are based in fear, so it is easier to deny it.

  • Yea I completely agree, though I would add that the socalled "truth" is not often black and white. People don't stray from "truth" on purpose, they just have their own truth, and it's different than yours.

  • Visit fooddemocracy dot wordpress dot com. Because what you eat matters!

  • you can eat your poop and i will eat food !!!

  • this is a great example of academics and activists that have a little information but really don't have a clue about how food is produced. THey have never stood in a corn field or pulled a weed or seen yields reduced by insects. Farmers only spend their money on technology that works. THese yahoos don't get it. GO back to your ivory towers and study global warming with Algore...

  • 52 doug, don't be so naive - especially if you have friends and children you care about.

I have both an academic and an agricultural background.

Most farmers can not afford to think further than 3-5yrs ahead because they are so deep into debt that re-thinking the agribusiness and going against the main stream grain will likely loose them too much money to continue farming.

  • That is exactly what agribusiness companies are banking on and each year it works takes the farmers that much farther away from self sufficiency.

Once self sufficiency is gone so is freedom. So Doug, Before you make rude comments, especially to people looking out for you, take the time to delve into an issue before you go about insulting people.

  • the very fact that use the term "ivory towers" points out what kind of indocrinated yes man you are. next its moon bats and tin foil heads huh you wonderfuly unique inbred middle american brainless farmer. you've been forced to overproduce by your economic system. that is why you resort to massive spraying of chemicles and genetic alterations. fuck your agro business. food should be grown for localised use whenever possible.

  • Youtube is a nest of what im guessing are A) paid people to counteract activism done on youtube B) Self-motivated right-wing people who try to disguise themselves as "realist liberals" like Kazza2ud 3 comments up

  • b) The majority of people are two busy/intent not going bankrupt that they have little time to talk to there kids, let alone research genetics on an interent slowly being sold out to the big companies, poluted with disinformation and corpro-propagandists. Therefore in my opinion the main problem is economic.

  • The point is we should have a choice to avoid these foods (like all the brainwashed adam smith jokers love to talk up) if the consumer does not want it, the market should take care of these fucks...but it doesn't...because A) that smith shit is for morons who know nothing about modern economics and...

  • its more of an economic issue with the main problem being the almost monopolistic control certain large corporations have over the entire production chain. Since there are very few stores left in the whole f-ing country to buy food that are not part of this chain, it becomes increasingly dificult to readily obtain non tampered food. We for one do believe the food is unhealthy, HOWEVER THAT IS FAR FROM THE POINT in my opinion.

  • Best thing - grow your own!! They ARE poisoning us in many ways, floride in tap water, cows milk, beef, pork, processed foods, toothpaste, chem trails, weather modification, msg, aspartame, diet drinks, bread, fructose corn syrup, flour, medicines, fast foods, trans fats, sports drinks esp gatorade... manufactured diseases,BSE in US since 96..

  • This shit is very real! if you eat CHECKERS, notice the FISH is called "DEEP SEA DOUBLE! the BURGER is called "BIG BUFORD", mc donalds has the "BIG MAC" & q"QUARTER POUNDER"!Boston CHICKEN is now boston market??? HMMMMM! Why u ask, that is a know brainer, the FDA made them change the name because of the use of "CLONED CHICKENS"! AKA GENETICLY ENGINEERED FOODS!

  • READ THIS ARTICLE FROM SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN:

    "December 30, 2002

    Fixing Food

Allergen-free comestibles might be on the way"

and please reply how an intention as the one describe in the article is something evil and should be destroyed.

  • the intention is fantastic...the problems that will arise or may arise could be catastrophic however. Especialy when you relate this whole isue to the almost monopolies of the food market and the actualy tiny number of options for the consumer to readily obtain non tampered with food.

  • That is their PR - the GMO Foods offer such and such a benefit.

But examine the risks - including this: if a fish gene is put into tomatoes - and you are allergic to that fish - now you can't eat tomatoes. When would it end??

  • how about this...you believe in your side and we believe in ours...but I don't believe you want to kill everyone who is a proponent of stopping genetic interference in crops...the planet is teeming with people, on the other hand, who would willingly murder you all for your attempts...Not that I ever would, I'm a man of peace...but you really should look at the bigger picture you contempory smug faggots! oh no he did slander! LOL.

  • try referencing the scientific america article titled "cross roads for planet earth"

  • "There is a wisdom in the organisation of natural living systems..." Yes there is. But it is a wisdom that we have choosen to interfere with by plant breeding over last 10 thousand years and I don't see any reason to stop now - especially since we can now do it more safely and more precisely with GM techniques.

  • when we interfered, it didn't not always work out for the best...somethings worked, some did not...only time will tell...and time has not progressed long enough to tell with the GM techniques to tell the truth, BUT SO FAR THINGS LOOK BAD, which is as much as a head start as we will get in these fast moving days...

  • There are no moth genes or fish genes in any crops in farmers fields. This such an old urban myth it funny to see it regurgitated here.

  • thats a pretty broad and bold statement. no fish genes in farmers field is pretty all inclusive...to bad your all inclusiveness costs you the argument this time.

  • What commercial crop contains a fish gene?

  • No commercial crop contains a fish gene. But so what if one did?

You might learn a lot by reading the essay at

a URL which google can find for you if you give it the search terms: Genetic Engineering in Agriculture Rader

  • This video claims that they do. This video lies.

  • Five agrochemical companies is quite a large number of companies I happen to think. They are going to keep each other in check. There is no monopoly here. And then there is the thousands of seed companies that make up the other 15%. One of these will step into the breach if the big 5 get too outrageous.

  • you really think five companies all in it for the exact same thing are looking to bust eachother out? Likely they are all working together to fend off outside interference...that ol adam smith bull shit is only surface propaganda that I guarantee you not even the most confused and infantile economists will claim to be a black and white truth...inteligence levels have increased, quite a bit, in the last 300 years!

  • Roundup ready crops enable no-till agriculture and no-till agriculture has huge benefits to the soil. So this claim that GM is bad for soils is totally bogus.

  • your statement is an example of faulty reason and falacious argumentation. On many levels. Get a simple college 101 book on logic or rhetoric to find out which ones!

  • Devistating counter argument from lautsu !

  • you can do it too! study harder, practice harder...seriously I can tell you are guite smart...so stop sucking your idols off and pull your head out of your ass...I know it sound vulgar and slanderous but Its reserved for those special

"educated folks" who have no excuse...you should know better.

  • How can it be that 1. we are told that GM crops do not improve yield and

    2. we are told that if the traits in GM crops fail then we will have a world wide famine?

    These two points are contraditory.

If GM traits do not improve yield then it should not matter to the worlds food supply if the traits fail.

  • its called putting too many eggs in one basket...they are only contradictory points to a simplistic, pre determined mind. Study harder. Practice harder.

  • I'm all for free enterprise, but this is just messed up!

I suppose that anything, when taken too far, can be harmful.

  • I would say that aspects of health, food, and education systems should be independent or somewhat independent from the market.

  • I agree. I think we've created a monster of sorts. If free enterprise and competition lead to cheaper food prices, that's good. But this genetic modification will make our food toxic!

  • Did you happen to realize that to genetically modify something they take the original item and place a bacteria into it to make the new cells take over. Did you happen do know that the AIDS virus was placed in GM corn and made it out into the public in the USA? Oh suprise, suprise see what GM foods can do for you. When you tamper with DNA you are playing GOD.

  • Gee, I thought they did it by inserting bits of tin foil. That way you can grow your own hats.

Regarding playing God, fortunately most anti-GM people are atheists anyway.

If you are willing to stick a blade in the skull of an unborn human baby, why would messing with an embryonic tomato bother you?

  • I'm not worried about messing with an embyronic tomato, but I am worried about the consequences of those actions. The FDA has approved GM foods however the FDA also approved the drug which caused thousands of serious birth defects back in the 60's. As for killing unborn babies, I am against it. I am not an atheist either. But I am against GM foods.

  • the tin foil hat reference...what is this 1984...your starting to show your age and lack of creativity roger...by the way thanks for all the good times NOT engaging with your narrow little rhetoric seeped outlook on life with me all these months while I sipped my drank...too bad I have realized the ultimate futility in "f-ing with the sheep" So I am giving it up. As you live in a world of lies, yes men, and what not, we have nothing worthwhile chatting up anymore...

  • and who said semantics was not important, if anything I was pointing out the oposite just to clarify that one for you...

  • "if anything"? And what if not?

Clarity is not exactly a hallmark of your writing.

In order to make what you imagine is a logical point, you blow off a foot. Then, to clarify, you blow off the other foot.

  • I like decapitating things, what can I say. Jesus wrote in esoteric parables.

  • Indeed, in your case, blowing off a lower appendage would be decapitation.

  • well legs and wrists are good practice for necks...4/1 ratio ya know!

  • i am expressing a fact, not my opinion...this is really simple semantics. You can't, like, change the definition dude!

  • in the end you are simply doing what you have been doing for years: arguing left vs right, lib vs conservative, your side vs the other side...problem is us younger generations as well as lot of smart folks from your fail to see it generation are now moving on and debating THE THIRD SIDE...survival. It has nothing to do with right, morals, gods, markets, and science...it is these things...can you understand that one .... not likely ... roger and out fag boy.

  • You do have this peculiar obsession with sexuality, don't you?

  • yeah I want to fuck you in the ass because i do not like your views and positions...hard to reprogram muscle alignments and possibly reach your brain.

  • you do have this particular obsession with semantics, don't you? (fag!)

  • Well, given that semantics refers to the meaning of language, I guess it would be important. At least if you want to be taken seriously.

    Apparently, you do not.

  • meaning I seriously think you are a fag...I don't understand how simple colorfull adjectives and nouns can cause you to lose track of the point of the conversation. I don't want to be taken seriously by people I do not take serious...

  • No fear. I can't imagine anyone taking you seriously, ever.

Denigrating semantics in the name of logic-- only possible in the twisted, contradictory world of the Left.

  • the left...you almost went somewhere with that statement until that cop out about the left. NIGA i have nothing to do with the left. The left barely exists anything more, at least outside of the minds of the right, who do exist.

  • If you think every thing is going to be saved by science and sorted out by the market, then you have not properly analyzed the situation.

  • do you really think that the gains in "standard of living" that technology has brought us in last fifty years is the ultimate counterpoint for every argument. how bout this one dumb fag. you have to be ignorant and in denial and a liar as well to not understand that in fifty short years advanced technology combined with the primitive phychology has pushed the human race to the literal edge of catastrophe...this is not my opinion.

  • but my spelling mistake...

  • If it is not your opinion, then why are you expressing it?

The brink? We live better and longer than ever. Where is this brink? What is its nature? What evidence suggests its presence?

  • hang on for thirty ish more years and you will see...if you make it eating all your poison. We live the same average life span of the ancient greeks by the way. life expectancy peacked 30 years ago also.

  • what evidence suggests its presence sounds like you are acutally ready to go to bat and deny something that you first need to ask me about...research it if your interested. THERE IS AMPLE evidence found in almost all branches of science. Also the standard of life will plummet when the "bottom" finaly gives out. As dp said "you can't sell dope foreaver" but we sure tried...and when we realized the folly, we covered it up and accelerated the crimes. well checks in the mail.

  • ppps...if you honestly would rather look at the world through your twisted lense then please eat up eat up and don't bother researching for your health...its your fat ass not me...

  • if you are*!

anyway, I know that if you are a large company trying to compete you need these programs. its not just seeds by the way its a whole package of pesticides, fertilizers and seeds and what not.

  • to tie it all together, if I think you are completely on the moon with a belief or what not, I will feel free to call you names as I feel apropriate to point out my anger twoards someone for holding such a stupid and confused opinion, WHICH DUE TO THE FACT THAT I LIVE IN A DEMOCRACY, affects me.

  • As far as "fag" thats just my younger generations new word for "stupid" or something...its more reactive. Perhaps my interst lies more in "f-ing" with people I don't respect than trying to gain their respect. I may be young but I'm getting old...I make my jedgements and if I'm wrong I will admit it WHEN I DISCOVER THE FACT...

  • in considering weather i am full of shit for telling people that they have their heads up their ass's, consider this: we all have met many people who's understanding of reality can best be classified as having ones head up ones ass. Thats all I mean. you know, just pre-empting the infantile defensive/reactive man boys who populate these dark times....

  • artists, philosphers, economists, scientists, and many of "ists" would agree that both science and capitalism are double edged swords. I feel its about 40 percent good to sixty percent bad with both, but that is only because they corrupt eachother. Science is corrupted by cappitalism, capitalism misuses science to make a quick buck at the expense of spreading poisons, depleted and damaging both man, beast and enviroment. as tupac said: thats just the way it is....

  • It's fucking sick how they are convincing the governments of poorer countries that genetically altered corn or wheat is poisonous. Greenpeace is causing poor people to starve to death, and they have the nerve to say that they are helping everybody. Billions of people are fed by genetically enhanced vegetables, and Greenpeace has a problem with that.

    Greenpeace is a fucking tragedy.

  • Fruit and Vegetable companies find ways to increase food production, and feed hungry people in third world countries, and of course, somebody has a problem with that. Altering a vegetable's genetic structure to make is more resistant to cold, or insects, will have absolutely no effect on the consumer's health. But, Greenpeace will just lie, or make something up, and people will believe them.

  • Any comment on the project that created corn that produced AIDS?

Google it! They brag about it on their website.

The problem of course is that this search for a "cure" could create a foodborne version of the disease...

  • Some how you can't distinguish between AIDS and an product meant to cure AIDS.

  • neither could the people making the corn.

They eventually had hazmat teams come in and torch their entire first batch. If they were willing to go that far, they had done something 'turrbile wrong' don't ya think?

I love it when they take the bait so easily.

  • antiklaus, you have an ethical problem. Prodigene's license to grow a GM crop required that they take precautions to prevent the escape of the crop. They did that. You are presenting it as some sort of irresponsibility, when it is just the opposite. The Prodigene plant does not contain the RNA of the AIDS retro-virus so it can't cause AIDS.

Do you ever worry that your campaign against GM technology, besides being based on ignorance, may actually be doing serious harm?

  • You presuppose knowledge about AIDS that even our top scientist have been unable to confirm or deny. Are you aware that some genetic diseases only require a snippet of raw DNA code to be transmitted? Not transcription DNA, just the right segment.

Prions... mad cow disease. look it up.

I actually think that a PROPERLY CONTROLLED and ETHICAL GM program is a FANTASTIC IDEA.

But... how many ethical profiteers have YOU met?

  • 1) prions are proteins, not DNA. You obviously hve no idea what scientists have learned about AIDS.

    2) ``profiteer'' sounds like a dirty word, but not everyone making a profit is unethical. You may not like capitalism very much, but much profit is actually earned by eople who've brought us benefits.

  • true but then those benefits are sold out, dummed down, co opted, monopolized and sucked of there original valuable essence by an impersonal machine that will easily leech all the nutrients out of the soil to squeeze in an extra harvest per year.

  • Do your research into the history of the Monsanto Company and into the processes they use to create GMO seeds, and then decide whether or not you trust them to genetically engineer your food.

Increased crop production is one thing; the health safety of those crops is quite another.

I avoid GMO foods. Could be you will decide otherwise. But at the very least, these foods should be labeled, just as they are in the EU -- we have a right to know what we are eating.

  • In my country, corporations would be free to produce GM foods and people would be free not to buy them.

Personally, I kneel and thank today's corporations for nealry everything we have.

And we should re-legalize DDT for domestic American use.

  • this guy has is head up his ass. Does one need to respond with words to any of these three statements. If he actualy believes this he should be removed from the country for the better of us all...ps niga, it aint your country anymore, your views are the patheticly tiny minority. we will finish your kind off in the comming generations. unless you molest them your kids will turn against you. ta ta faggot.

  • Farmers never save seeds for next year anyway. Crops you grow hybridize with whatever else is growing nearby, and the resulting seeds are unpredictable strains.

For better yields, they always buy fresh, bred seeds from dealers. And they only buy the GM seeds if it gives them an advantage-- nobody is forced to use Roundup Ready seeds.

So, the idea of loss of genetic rights is a bit of a canard. Farmers farm for profit, not "social justice", and they use technology accordingly.

  • oh always, like for three thousand years? when these seed corporations have only been around 100 years tops? pull your head out your ass fag.

  • laotsu, after all this time, I feel like we have a relationship. Go ahead, be angry, whatever. But can't you at least keept the dialogue civil? "out your ass fag"?? Please.

Reliance in vitriol over dialogue only denegrates your own credibility.

Sure, seed companies are a relatively new innovation. And since their inception farmers have overwhelmingly chosen to use them. Not because they have to, but because the seeds are better and cheaper.

  • no it is because they have little to no option. (if we want to talk actual facts here.)

If its emotions, semantics and the vitriol nature of semantics or my degeneration of credibility (this is youtube) then I can only point to the comment I left right before yours...some people really do have their heads up there ass's. they just don't know it. (because they are used to pressure and darkness.)

  • Actual fact: farmers are not required to buy gm seeds. They do by hybrids, because they have been on the market for many decades now and are in fact more efficient. But then, you can obtain wild corn seed and use it, free. No law at all restricting that.

  • if you large producer (who produce the bulk of the food sold to the majority of grocery stores which are the primary places I can easily, readily, and cost effectively obtain food), if you are one of the LARGE companies who suply these corporations then your options are limited. IF YOU WANT TO COMPETE on the market you will certainly be forced to use these programs. If you call that free to choose and will of the market and all that, it is no suprise. Your stance is well understood.

  • Both small and large producers use technology-- GM and hybridized seeds included-- to improve profits.

To be competitive and to succeed, you need increasing efficiency. Farmers, like all business, choose to compete or not. Those who compete succesfully become wealthier.

Look at measurable wealth in the world today and compare to to 30 years ago. People everywhere are amazingly better off, across all strata and geographies. Modern agriculture plays no small part in advances in human welfare.

  • I think that answer is so bs and completely dodges the point. The point is certain things like the food suply for instance should not be forced to have to compete on the market if the end result is that what once worked fine now has to be changed in a dangerous way just to please some adam smith fags primitve calculator. ps food suply has remained stable in the last 30 years since the reforms...pps the problem of overpopulation should not be adressed by catoring to the problem.

  • But that is precisely the point: the value of something needs to be measured in the context of its result. Some confused notion of "social justice" that assumes competition is bad fails to notice how effective competition has been in creating human well-being.

Economics is not a zero-sum game. That you gain does not mean I must lose.

  • well have fun being competive and efficient because coupled with science, your two little buddies there have brought us to the brink. The only way man will save the world will be to enslave himself and blow up his brain. this is happening now. if its sounds like the a conspiracy theroy, its just a little esorteric...

  • My brother-in-law has been using Roundup Ready seeds for years. I went through the numbers with him when he first considered it. The seeds cost more, but the chemical prices dropped quite a bit. Basically, almost a wash on profits.

Advantages: convenience, less tilling, less fuel burn. Just spray chemicals and forget it. Oh, and Roundup biodegrades.

Farmers can use the patented seeds or not-- nobody is forced.

  • This video would have us believe technology and capitalism are to blame for poverty. Both have made possible greater food production.

Relatively free markets have reduced poverty dramatically. Witness China and India, which used to have periodic famines, are both net food exporters today.

The key to reducing poverty is greater freedom, not socialism.

  • Mark Whitacre of Archer-Daniels-Midland tells us the maxim "The customer is the enemy, and the competitor is our friend" is something he was told hundreds of times at ADM.

  • These "corporations" feed the world, improve the lives of billions and you do nothing liberals offer only a bizarre conspiracy theory. Grow up you whiners.

  • bumpy111, that "liberal" book the Bible warns us that hybrid seed is of the serpent.

  • search "the future of food" for an excellent full length documentry on this subject.

  • GM foods- will make people sick in the long run.

GM foods- Enslave farmers with self terminating crops

GF food genetic traits- contaminate the ecosystem, then farmers get sued for having contaminated crops.

Stop the nonsense! Get this banned.

  • search "the future of food" for an excellent full length documentry on this subject.

  • Great video just terrific for my Biology presentation .. concerning the harmul effect and ettical issues regarding genetic engineering

  • Very well done, we are in South America and would like to join any intention to help.

    Sayre Tupac

  • A good video that really hits on the point that GM isn't just a health concern; its about control. I like the "Drug & Dealer" analogy.

  • An accurate video with a really snappy style.

  • GMO's alter your organs. Check the GMO french video. Si tu parles francais

  • Check out Freedom to Fascism What do these men have in common? -Jesus Christ -numerous roman emperors -Julius Caesar -Abraham Lincoln -Andrew Jackson -James Garfield -Congressman McFadden -John Francis Kennedy They were all individuals killed or attempted to be killed. Oddly enough, they all worked to instill into the people's government a system that issued its own money interest and debt free. Coincidence I think not...
  • Greenpeace and PETA have nothing to do with those people. They are just annoying protester, and sometimes terrorists. I think its funny when people compare Bush to Hitler, and compare themselves to Jesus.

  • bush is just like hitler

  • exactly

  • Greenpeace, like all NGOs, is Rockefeller.

  • the food has less nutrition as a whole these days, people have become more dormant, spending more time on the internet, requiring less healthy food for basic survival and energy requirements, but eating more crap which the company that makes the less nutritional apple turns into an even less nutritional food product (pop-tart) you can buy a box of pop-tarts for less then you can buy a bag of salad.

  • GM crops sound awesome at first blush. Triple the yeild from the same soil? Who wouldn't sign up?

The problem is that you end up with food that has almost zero nutrative value.

Most GM apples nowadays have to have dye to make them red, and sweetners added to make them palatable...

and the amount of useful vitimins in them is diluted to a fraction of what it should be.

  • There is no such thing as a GM apple let alone dying an apple. Shows what you know.

  • Apples were one of the first candidates for the GM label. You should know this if you had half a wit. In fact, in the UK, they made a special GM apple to fight tooth decay.

As for dying apples, you should know it is common practice in MOST fruit, not just apples, to inject or bathe them in dyes to "create a uniform and palatable color" - the quote taken from the USDA.

  • I wish this could be broadcast all over the world so people could be informed and do something about this!

  • Well, I have to be honest I understand the point of the video however what is the motivation? It seems you might be worried about something. We will all die, we will all get sick, we will all have a bad day and I must say we will be ok. relax man.

  • It's not true, Mad Cow, Ecoli poising, and Suicide seeds have all taken many lives. And we don't know the long term effects either. This is serious.

  • yawn....

  • On youtube you can't get many people to watch a long video explaining science, but you can explain the basics and then it's up to them to research if they want to. Having researched it myself I must say there is much to worry about - creating a mono-culture of seeds is very dangerous. It is also very bad for farmers - in India the suicide rate among farms has shot up like 100% in past few years, because of the seed licenses. We also clearly do not know the long term effects of GMO's.

  • Not true. Farmer suicides are down in India since the country allowed GMO cotton, and the suicides are among farmers who DON't plant GMO crops.

  • The words "genetic engineering" and "genetically modified" are terms that many people associate with science fiction.

I noticed this video doesn't really contain information about the science of genetic modification. What it does is create a fear. Teach people the science behind GMO. If you help them understand it, they will realize that there's not much to worry about.

  • There are many plants that are being engineered with infertile seeds. This is a frightening prospect, because these infertile plants can pass on their infertile trait to other plants... in the course of a few generations, plants with fertile seeds could become a recessive trait, causing worldwide famine!

  • (a) In a few generations, infertility dies out. Your fear is ridiculous.

    (b) These infertile seeds are only a patent. None have been sold. Doubt me? Call an agriculktural supply company and try to buy some?

  • A friend at a local university can get me seeds for a number of traits, through a catalog, mostly corn hybrids, that have traits varying from ability to produce insulin to AIDS virus proteins.

Pardon me if I venture to the cautious where these are concerned.

  • no problem websuspect, it seems like so few people know about the danger that lurks in our food.

  • a good explanation of an important topic. This is about personal health more than anything else.

  • Personal health? The anti-GMO propagandists don't care about health. They promoted starvation in Zambia two years ago by forcing the country to decline relief supplies during a famine. They have delayed the development of rice with vitamin A, causing about 50,000 cases of blindness per month. And what about pesticide poisoning, down 80% in China since GMO cotton was adopted?

  • Thanks for all the hard work you do and this little video on Franken Foods. What is it I remember like 1991 or so they made a tomato made from Dogs and camels through Trangesnics. ANother Big company is ADM. %90 of the Genetically engineered food in America is coming from one company and its mentioned here. Monsanto. Alex Would say Pesticides are nutricious.
