I think all of you could ID species if the video quality was a bit better, so relax. Those are two nice bucks duking it out, I would've loved to been there.

I saw a program about rutting stags today. The top stag at the time won a fight by pushing it's opponent off a ledge into a lake, and next year beat that same stag by pushing it back, and tripping it over a broken wall. It can't be a coincidence that it won twice by using the terrain.

but they do lock horns from time to time more then people think and one or both end up dieing from the fight... ive read and seen pics of deers racks locked and 1 deer is dead and the liveing deer was trying to kick himself free... its not prity but that is a life or death fight.

in a sense of fighting animals are smarter than people. they usually don't kill the opponent but let the looser walk away. they don't even fight if they can tell just by looking at each other who would most likely win (body size, antler size...)

I saw a program about rutting stags today. The top stag at the time won a fight by pushing it's opponent off a ledge into a lake, and next year beat that same stag by pushing it back, and tripping it over a broken wall. It can't be a coincidence that it won twice by using the terrain.
