I was enjoying ice clumber a lot back then...maybe becouse there was a very few games in Poland on Pegasus (russian version of NES witch was developing also in Poland)...did I write this corretly?...f*ck that...part 2 is waiting :O...I mean 3...
Hey Pat, I'm wondering if you can help me find an NES game? I collect as well, and the only thing I have going for this one is a very vague recollection from renting it when I was maybe 6 years old. All I remember is it was sort of an overhead game involving nuclear sites and a cold war setting, with pretty ugly colour palette if I recall. It wasn't so much action based as tactical, and a very basic resource management aspect for plutonium etc. Any ideas? Thanks!
Got to love how Nintendo forgot when they released the "programmable" games over here that they were being put on carts with no real save ability as opposed to the Famicom orginals which were on floppy discs and so the new levels were just written to the disc. That or Nintendo of America was just to lazy to remove the save options out of the games code.
In Japan, you could actually keep your custom Excitebike tracks... on an audio cassette. The Design option in the Programmable Series games was designed to work with the Famicom Data Recorder (basically just a cheap tape deck) for data saving (because of course, this was before the Disk System and battery backup). :)
Of course, this required that you also had the Family Basic keyboard, so you can imagine it wasn't a hot seller...
Hey Pat, the Gameboy version of 'Golf' was way better. I don't even like golf but I found it very fun and addictive! I played it for hours and hours when I was younger.
@PatTheNESpunk Plus since most people have always heard and said MAR-IO because some of the commercials started even saying it in the late 80's and the games now even say MAR-IO. Like the review
@famicomdork actually in the orginial mario commercial it pronounced it that way and BTW famicon owns (mario 2 is a HUGE rip off of doki doki party and isnt even a SUPER mario game its a maroi game)

Why do some people call Mario Marrio/Mareo?
Nintendo pronounces is Mar-E-O
famicomdork 3 years ago
I just use an unsophisticated American accent. I'm not a fan of the soft "A" sound.
