  • "the interesting thing about this pedal... is the bright switch..." really? how about how it sounds? xD

  • He obviously ran out of guitars. its the same guitar from all of his pedal gear demo's why not use those prs guitars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that "trick" with the void knob sounded like shit.

  • I think it makes more sense to use the "save" on a dark stage, because the LEDs are going to be more visible as it is because it's dark, whereas you need more light outside to compensate for daylight.

  • @yekshemesh4alig Totally, I was going to say that xD

  • Whats the advantage of a Tube Distortion pedal over a solid state distortion pedal? Do they make a solid state sound better?

  • @andrewvanrhoberts As far as I know, tube distortion sounds a lot more vintage, like when you push a tube amp too far and it starts too distort, whereas solid state sounds more digital.

  • I´m new into tube pedals, Tube King is a really nice pedal, but does anybody knows when its time to change the tube?

  • กากๆ

  • Lol i own that epiphone, except mine is solid black with trapezoids on the neck not the rectangles :P

  • I really don't see the point of a phaser.... I can't imagine a situation where it would be particularly useful. it doesn't even sound that great !!

  • @vaibhavnayel to each his own. I can't imagine a situation where it wouldn't be useful. maybe that's just all the mushrooms though...

  • @vaibhavnayel All you need is an MXR EVH phaser. Eruption and Jake E Lee uses the pretty much the same setting as EVH on eruption for the solo in Bark at the Moon. Other then those two? I don't see why you would want one...

  • @vaibhavnayel

go listen to the opening riff of "Unchained" and see if you still feel that way...

  • why did he play with epiphone ?

  • You should put a boost in front of that Tube King, your sound has hardly any gain, Paul.

  • i dont think paul likes the jemini too much lol

  • the led's go slightly darker to save batteries? why dont they just cut out altogether and save a lot of battery.

  • @MrCwillies Probably so that you can tell between the battery being dead and it being low

  • I do not know about the others but the RED TK999HT burns, the best Dist, period. It always depends on your guitar and amp interaction. They also have a cool white OD box which is the sister of the RED. Killer units. Flangers and such are objective and dependent upon where you run them really, really reactive to different amps and guitars, you have to hunt for the one that works for you. The RED TK999HT burns!! Not just another mimic box but a real high voltage tube!

  • i have this pedal and its so faint and fadish, it sucks badly doesnt sound like this and i tweeked with it forever

  • @hackerwacker4 which one

  • @ottozing the tube king, it doesnt suck but i cant get a bite from it or a fullness and the drive is there but i just dont here the power of the tubes and it just in general

  • @hackerwacker4 you aren't gonna find anything with 100% tube distortion that gives you a lot of 'bite'. The reason tube distortion is so popular is because it's usually much warmer and more dynamic than solid state distortion. That's just the nature of tube tone. If you can't get any good sounds from the tube king, you are either using it wrong, using it with other gear that sucks, or have very unusual taste in tone. Don't knock a good pedal just because you can't and/or don't use it correctly.

  • @peeblesj1131 for one dont ever, ever in ur life tell me what to do and i have great equipment and other pedals and i kno what the fuck im talking about, and u dont, why you ask? why dont you tell slash his tone doesnt have a bite loser. cause i was talking abouthow its not powerful and its faded sounding

  • @hackerwacker4 My apologies sir. I wasn't aware you were THAT teenage bedroom rockstar guitar god with an undeserved sense of accomplishment. I'll make sure to have a good long talk with your buddy Slash so he can make sure I get my head on straight. Tool.

  • @peeblesj1131 better than u'll ever be. it dont take a middle age man to know how to get tone or what he wants or even how to use a damn pedal! no ones thrashing the damn thing. im the one who bought this pedal i can say what i want as an owner who knows because he has experience using it.

  • @hackerwacker4 I'd rather be a so-so guitar player than an asshole. Guess that makes one of us.

  • @peeblesj1131 im not trya be an asshole, sorry

  • He should use a Jem guitar!

  • 02:15 awesome sound dude

  • That tube king seems like it would be a useful recording tool. I want one!!!!

  • OMG is RICKY MARTIN

  • The best Japanesse electronic

  • very very good effects

  • Anybody knows how many (mili)Ampers is the adapter of Ibanez Tube king????? Thanks!

  • i love your videos mand but it would becool when you test the pedals (or the amps) to twaek all knobs from 0 to 10 ...because then i can see how the knobs are working ( what frequencies are controlled by the knob and how ajustable is the gain ... and how it reacts )

  • Here is my "clean sound".

  • buy guitar rig 4 or amplitube 3 if your practical

  • These pedals are so really BIG or Paul Riario is small in fact?

  • Tube King and Tube Screamer always kick ass!

  • He was made for his job! I hope he never quits or retires!

  • Why doesn't he play them on an ibanez instead of an epiphone

  • @carsguitars009 Probably because he likes the Les-Paul shape and it would be quite strange to buy an Ibanez Les Paul pre-Lawsuit for only one review.

In addition to this, using the same guitar also makes it easier to compare different reviews.

  • @pietruk2 it isn't about what paul from guitar world likes... steve vai had the jemini custom made for him and his ibanez jem

  • @carsguitars009 true but if you want a Jemini demo with a Jem then you can watch the official Ibanez demo. If you want to compare it directly to other pedals (via the internet) then it is actually not too bad if the demos are mostly played with the same type of guitar.

  • @carsguitars009

what's the difference? they're not meant to be played on ibanez guitars although it would be a good marketing tool for ibanez.

  • @carsguitars009 Beacouse u know.....EPIPHONE IS AWEEESOOOMEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Way awesomer than ibanez, at least.

  • @1995soadist no and u re a noob v:

  • @antichrist07comrad ,I'm not actually a noob although i do am biased here. But really,am i not right believing thatGbison and epiphone outrun on every aspect Ibanez?

  • @carsguitars009 because ibanez sucks

  • @aldobu1990 You're a fool if you think Epiphone is better. Clearly you've never played a quality Ibanez. Nobody cares for your worthless comments.

  • @aldobu1990 Oh no no no... If you ever have tried a nice ibanez, you just caaaant say that ibanez sucks!! What you say is shit and worthless =/

  • i wish i had his job!

  • by the time guitar world gets done recording this everything they demo sounds the same!

  • I see Paul do a lot of these demos using that same Epi L.P.. I wonder if that is actually his personal guitar.

  • @myway43

i also seem him with the white esp eclipse very often

  • How did you manage to get such a terrible sound out of the Jemini?!

  • ok.... the TK or the Vox Satchurator?

  • @wedge070 I say the tube king, bro. It's versatile so you can use it for anything.

  • @Alphastyx7 thanks..

  • the Tube King really shines once you swap out that piece of crap stock tube.

  • @GoCeltics734 What tube did you replace it with?

  • clean sound huh com'on dude that's about as clean a channel as one of new yorks finest drug enforecment officers

  • Would've sounded ace from 5:10 if he dropped the phase depth down a lot.

  • oh my god- i need one of those tube king pedals...

  • Roaryguit88-Even at the highest gain setting on the tube king, you'll notice a lack of bite when you palm mute and such. I always run it with a route 66 overdrive in front of it. It's a good sounding pedal, but doesn't really feel like a tube amp.

  • why dont you just shut the fuck up?

there isnt a specified style for each pedal, you use a pedal how you want to use a pedal, dont be such a close minded dumbass

  • Comment removed

  • if i wanted to, i could, couldnt i?

all i would need to do is have some distortion on there already, then juice it up with some more from the pedal, now i wouldnt, but the point is i could, dont think different guitars or different equipment need to be used for a certain style, just play how you like with them

  • @EvoPogo youre a fag you stupid prick, you can use a pedal however the fuck you want. you prob cant play for shit anyway you cocky little shrimpdick.

  • Comment removed

  • @EvoPogo wow you stupid fuck, who the fuck are you to tell people what to do. yeah you can go play your pussy little fuckin green day in your room alone all you want. you wanna call me a fuckin peasant? you cant play a single not without sounding like an asshole. yeah sure, i fuckin suck when im the fuckin 5 year old girl that sits on youtube all day and tries to make fun of people clearly superior to me. eat shit and die you fuck

  • Comment removed

  • @EvoPogo fuck you bitch, you think this makes you a good guitar player? because you think you can talk shit to people? go wash the cum out of your ears and start learning to play. you're a narcissistic little faggot, and youre not even worth the shit you eat out of your fathers asshole, let alone me wasting my time talking to you. and yeah, im on the computer after a long hard week of work. suck a 4 foot long cock you little shithead. who the fuck are you to say anything about my music? go die.

  • Comment removed

  • @EvoPogo i know nothing about you, but your a fag

  • @ArchieIsted I agree... What a tool.

  • god...some mugs will really pay WAYYY too much on high end pedals...its not gonna make u a better guitarist or songwriter u know??

  • he should demo the overdrive of the jemini over the distortion of the tube king

  • Flying Pan is sick..

  • tube king ^^

  • How good is the jemini really? There are such mixed reviews...

  • i personally think it rocks

  • its just a

ds-1 + tube screamer in one pedal

  • @ic300x No, the green side is only the red side with low gain...

  • haha i love the way he fidgets around trying to press on the stompbox around 2:50

  • I dont think ive ever liked using distortion in conjunction with other effects like phasers and flangers. it just gets to the point where theres just too much noise and echo. its cool to maybe have a little wah and a little sweep for a solo, but anything else ehhhhh

  • I'm sorry but neither Vai nor Paul are cocky in any respect, you are hugely mistaken. Paul Gilberts pedal is a flanger btw and the Jemini is a pretty sweet pedal but it is definitely tailored more for a Legacy. It sounds pretty good on a Bogner Xtc too.

  • did paul say fuck ? ;D 3:37

  • great demo for two of the pedals. But you ruined the jemini since its not meant for classic rock/blues stuff. Like good demo for the other two though

  • The best thing in this video is the 65amps t-shirt!

  • no i beleive its the tube king

  • im sooo geting that tube king

  • @vback77 Be warned... The Tube King will melt ur face! Its awesome. Especially if you like HI-Gain tones..

  • tube king - perfect

    pan thing - ok

Jemini - amazing with a Ibanez Tube Screamer

  • Since I use the Tube King my solid state amp comes amazingly close to a real valve sound. great pedal!

  • omg.the tube king sounded awesomeee..the panning pedal device sucks though....

  • Is anyone else having any problems out of the Jemini? The overdrive section sounds fine, but when I use the right side of the pedal it constantly clips. Ive tried different amp settings, diferent settings on the pedal, less gain etc.

  • This video is terrible. He's not even using the Overdrive as an overdrive... he's just using it as a distortion pedal.

  • Nice playing!

I wish the pan, which is pretty much a tremolo on mono, had a depth control.

    Still, a cool effect, though.

  • I wont be stealing your gate trick, thankyou veryy much

  • wow, I'm getting the Jemini!

  • use a boss metal core

  • I saw a video by Jahnli where he uses the pan phase in stereo and it's amazing!

  • this tube thing sounds SOOOOOOO JUICY :)

    everything should be tubed :)

  • for anyone that sees this and can answer this question i'd greatly appreciate it,

i'm looking for a distortion pedal that can literally take me from the cleanest tone on my amp to like iron maiden to lamb of god distortion tones, i've got a maxon od808 for a screamer but i want a really good distortion to get me from clean to death metal.

please tell me any suggestions you may have

  • hi, i will recommend the ibanez jemini.. its pretty straight forward. overdrive and distortion in one. you dont even have to tweak alot to get a good sound out of it..

  • DigiTech HardWire Metal Distortion. It kicks ass!

  • AMT pedals try the DT-2

  • digitech's highwire metal distortion

  • myabe a... distortion factory by digitech?

  • try the ibanez jemini, also you can boost it with your tubescreamer.

  • your amp doesnt have a distortion setting? i personally prefer the distortion of a good amp to a pedal. but to answer your question, the boss metalcore nickyrazz mentioned to pretty descent, though its realy harsh. they also make one called the ds-1 i believe (could be wrong about the name) that sounds more natural and not so tin foily

  • @LeonardCohenRocks and it felt so gud wen you joined in!

  • If this is GUITAR WORLD, then why isn't he running that Flying Pan in stereo and letting us hear the effect for real?!

Not really a review of the pedal at all.

  • tube king is way more versatile than the jemini

  • Great Review as always the tubeking kicks my face

  • the tubking burrys the jemini!

  • Holy shit the Tube King sounds bloody awesome.

  • I love guitarworld reviews and Paul's guitars.

  • pauls has been listenin to zeppelin lol

  • i like how paul reviews products with an epiphone les paul these days...it really shows how good the products are even with medium-budget guitars unlike other reviewers who normally use gibson les pauls or fender strats which are like $2000-3000

  • Epiphone sounds like complete shit tho, I'm sorry.

  • thats a Gibson isnt it? Shit if its an Epiphone never mind.

  • Nope, it's an Epiphone, the headstock is different than a Gibson.

  • oh.

  • They've obviously been paid off by epiphone to play that guitar during the reviews of the other stuff as advertising... also because the main demographic of these reviews are the epiphone price range

  • Fenders are generally more reasonable than Gibsons, but I get your point.

It's very encouraging to us folks who can't afford the big names to see someone choosing an epiphone.

  • exactly if i could i would buy the jim root tele

i wish he would do what john 5 did and make a signature fender and a lower end signature squier

  • epiphone also makes very good quality guitars which is a very big plus for all of us who dont wanna spend 3 grand on a gibson

  • Does the headstock says "Epiphone" or "Ibanez"?

  • Epiphone

  • Epiphone.

  • Comment removed

  • I wouldn't

  • You would kill for an Epiphone? Wow, people these days.

  • nevermind...

  • can you do both overdirve and distortion at the same time on the jemini?

  • He said you can only do one at a time.

  • no..thats the only flaw about the pedal..

  • the tube king is amazing

  • It sounds fuckin awesome.

  • Tube-King <3 : D

  • Can they make them any bigger?

Good luck with your pedalboard folks.

  • That's what she said.

  • When you're changing the setting the camera should pan-in on the pedal. Otherwise I liked the Tube King and thought the Steve Vai pedal sounded like crap.

  • flying pan is nice so is the tube

  • Tube King was pretty cool.

  • The Jemini is amazing! And so is the tube!

  • thanks paul

  • clever you..........

  • WOW!

  • IBANEZ tube king TK999HT is a good stuff, i want it.

The price i think is us$250 more less.

The IBANEZ Jemini double pedal is some strange.

    What are you think?

  • I would definately go for that tube king its while good, theres a part in which he sets it so it sounds like old school metallica "kill em all" and diamond head stuff...pretty sweet, i think the flying pan and the jemini sucks balls

  • is he useing a epiphone.

  • yes

  • i wonder how the tube king would sound with a different guitar, ill have to try it

  • I'm torn between a Satchurator or a Jemini, lol...

  • That Tube King is really nice though, wow.

  • i'll start saving money...

well i actually had already started like 1 month ago when i first saw the jemini on vai's profile, but now i'll save MORE for the tube king, sound great, but the pan thingie is not worth it, i don't use that kind of effects oftenly, just when i am messing up with effects whith my friends

  • 150 dollars at guitar center for the Tube King

    must buy

  • that first pedal sounded like it was for someone who wants to hide their lack of skills

not to say that paul doesnt have skills, but just sayin

  • tube king!

  • All the way Tube King, great job. Start saving the pennies. Cheers for the demo GW, very helpful.
