Private license is really only used for sport flying. like if your on vacation and you wanna fly south to stay with your brother, or you just wanna go up to fly for fun one day or if you even want to just build up hours for the commercial licenses.
you can't instruct unless you add that rating to your license (its like 1.3 grand investment to get it, worth it if you paid 50K to get the private license)

@policecrownvictoria not neccesarily, but to get into the bigger airlines, yes you do.
on the bright side, they don't care what college and what degree (although well known colleges and outstanding degrees make you stand out) but yea.
but understand the difference between Commercial, Regional and Airline flying.
If you want to know more, go on my channel and email or drop a comment with your question(s), i can give better info then the internet and these videos.
I am 18 years old and I live in asia. If I do not have the understandings of physics, means that I had never learned physics, instead I only learn sport science, can I be an airline pilot?thnx
You most certainly can. I never studied physics and only studied maths at a high school level but have become a commercial pilot. If you really want it you'll succeed.
Physics is certainly not a requirement. You should know that the more breadth and depth you can acquire in your knowledge base, the better. You will be exposed to physics, math, science, met., etc. While you will not have to be an expert on these, you must have the ability to understand concepts. On top of that, you need good interpersonal skills, and you must be proficient in english (this is an international requirement of pilots).
hey tnpiper20 ,, i'm also interested in being a commercial pilot and i noticed certain things u stated in your reply. If its possible could you plz send me a reply becasueihaveacoupleofquestionsas 'mnot sure about theroute that i need totake.and areyoua pilot?
THANKS well firstly wat school or how are you going about it? because i'm currently trying to decide whether to go to ERAU or to try and do it with a private instructor i've heard from dif people that i could do it that way but i seems a bit shadey to me since i expect that since the standards must have risen since almost every pilot either has a degree or is working on it
DUDE, DON'T GO TO EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY!
DO NOT GO DO NOT GO DO NOT GO, YOU WILL REGRET IT SOOO MUCH.
If you don't beleive me, go on my channel, and contact me, i'll explain every detail as to why you shouldn't go, and if you do plan to go, lemme tell you the best ways to go.
cuz any nut can get in, but not everyone can pay it, and chances are you'll end up like a lot of guys who end up never getting their life goal jobs.

do you have to go to college to be a pilot for a commercial jet?
policecrownvictoria 2 years ago
No but the odds of getting a job are very slim.. Airlines just want to see that you made the effort to go to college.

Why do commercial pilots have to wear uniforms? Why can't they just wear normal clothes and have long hair and tattoos?
