Box of Rock through Bogner Shiva

I have a tip or two for your sir - please play the pedal more. By that I mean play less Led Zeppelin. Variety never hurt. Plus, Jimmy never used a JTM45, the amp that the Box of Rock emulates. Hell, he hardly ever used a Marshall in the studios, and didn't even use them all the time live. Try finding famous JTM45 users and trying to cop some of their tones to show how close that pedal can come to sounding like a real JTM45.

Shiva has more of a hot rodded JCM800 type distortion. JTM/Plexi style is not so easy with it, cause it's more compressed sounding. With the BOR this gives a different flavour.

That pedal is boosting his signal so he can attain more gain, and typically a tighter sound. Pretty common for Marshall style amps like the Shiva.

they are on seperate channels the boost ONLY is on the distortion channell

not true, models since 2006 have boost on both channels, the clean boost disables the tone stack and utilises that part of the preamp tubes to boost it. It becomes noticeably louder and fatter with the boost on in Ch1.

your exactly correct jaeger the boost is on both channels the boost on channel one basically bypasses the Bass/Treble pots thereby creating a "boost". Nice tone with the BOR. I love the tone of my shiva both the clean and OD channels are just full of amazing tone

It's funny to think that Page probably got that same tone from some $10 Supro or Sears Robucks amp in the 60's!? Now we have to spend ten gazilion dollars to obtain it now. That is some nice tone however, great playing as well. "Since ...." is one of my favorite Zep songs! ROCK ON!!!!

It's a good point. If you have his guitar and his fingers, you probably don't need as much money. But to be fair, you don't need a Bogner Shiva to make the BoR sound like Zep. Oh and by the way, I think a Les Paul in those days cost like an average annual salary in UK :O)

Dewd, think that box is on sth like both volumes around 10 AM, the Tone and Gain around 3PM ish. Shiva is set rather bright clean.
