  • Brilliant.

  • Pimp

  • 3:46 you are touching bare wires :P

  • @mikerozo its safe 12 volts cant shock you or anything

  • What the hell?!?!?!

  • It's impressive, but it could be a small lead acid, motorcycle battery. OK the density is notably greater, but both types of battery have the ability to deliver a good instant hit of power.

  • @magna59

Never ever compare those to a Lithium Polymer. None of those types of batteries can discharge like a LiPo and be thermally efficient at the same time.

  • be nice to have in the trunk for a emergency

  • Lets see it start my diesel lol

  • I was like no way is that little thing gonna start a car... nicely done

  • Science triumphs again.

  • why are you living like a gypsie

  • You should tighten your belt(s), Thunderf00t.

  • Free inexhaustible energy is real! But the big oil corporations don't want that technology revealed,Get the blueprints for a free energy motor at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Big change is comming soon!

  • @thunderf00t

on the subject of unimportant knowlege, what car have you got?

  • @BlackMetalWarewolf It looks like a Corolla.

  • @idontcare80 i saw his other videos and pieced together a 95 mazda protiege. the corolla doesnt seem to have the right shape for the tail lights.

  • @BlackMetalWarewolf - by the dash air vents with the hazard light switch between them, I'd say Ford Focus.

  • @JBofBrisbane by watching his other videos and looking at the whole side, and rear end of the car, the lack of a ford logo on the steering wheel and a glimpse of the front. I would have to say... 1995 mazda protiege.

  • lol you need a new serpentine belt.

  • Hehehe, love your Leopard Skin thing on the wall @ 1:05 ^w^ RAWR

  • you have got to be kidding lol

  • Geee!! this is fake!!! You can't start a car with that little battery!! The 12 volts are not important, what you need to start a car are amperes!! lots!! Why do you think the car batteries are that size? If that little brick could match the car batteries in performance, well, i think car batteries would be that size now on.

  • @santopotter this is not fake this is a 3 cell battery rated at 35C discharge but u can take it up to 50-60C for few seconds if you do the math then u will find that this little battery can give 125-150AMPS !!! even thou for few seconds but still it should be enough and also the car is not a big car,,,,the reason why you dont see lithium battery in petrol or desil cars is because 1 its expensive 2 it is a damm dangerous little battery but harmless with this kind of test if u dont over do it lol

  • @t0p0l1eve4 i forget to say that it is also 2500mh meaning 2.5amps

  • @t0p0l1eve4 If what you're saying is true, i'm gonna put one of this bricks in the glove box from now on LOL, nice video, it's one of those things that i'm not believing until i see it! nice though!!

  • @santopotter this vid isnt a fake, you can start a small car like this that the battery isnt completely dead on. That little battery he has will constantly discharge @ 75 amps, and is rated to do burst @ 87.5 amps and will actually do more than that for just a few seconds.also if it transfers power @ a rate of 50amps for 15 seconds, that is the same as 500amps for 1.5 seconds(about the amount of time it takes to start a car)

    no arguement,just fyi

    thanks

  • @santopotter you dont have a clue

  • @santopotter The car battery and the toy plane battery use different technologies. Lead acid vs Lithium Ion. That's why they're different sizes. LIon batteries have a much high energy density which is why a battery that can start a car can be smaller. It's also a lot more expensive though, plus LIon batteries self discharge over time, which is why they aren't used to replace car batteries.

  • wtf is beeping

  • Yah but you didnt start the car with that little battery. You used both the car battery and it combined. It would not have started if you had disconnected the car battery first.

  • I heard when you jump-start a car (using another car) you should put the black cable not at the minus part, but on some other piece of metal inside the car. Is it the same here? Cause it looked like you were putting it on the minus.

  • @Mithcoriel That is correct, when you are using jumper cables. You do that so if when the dead car does start it doesnt surge and fry the good cars computer.

  • Nicely done!

  • dude, you were my hero on debunking christian nuts, now knowing you are into big boy's RC as well..... (which i am a big fan of). You are now officially my GOD!

  • what camera did you use to film this? i love how it focused in on the close things when you set it down.

  • Dude, clean your room!

  • When you started the plane I almost shit myself. XD

  • that "toy battery" is quite expensive as your regular 1SM car battery! at least here.

    what an expensive hobby!

  • Your house is a dump.

  • CONTINUED: Generally because the starter motors are smaller, more light weight and because of there gear reduction drive having to force around a higher compression engine i would only ever see 60-100 amps in Motor cycles and ride-on lawn mowers, IN General, NEVER Jump a car with a battery smaller than the main battery

  • @bloodreighn Those LiPOs can take 40 amps continuous, but they can also take somewhere from five to ten times than for a couple seconds without harm. LiPOs can explode or catch fire of course if this is a continuous fault because of internal heating, but in an emergency I can't see the problem...

  • @bloodreighn and thats why it worked

  • oh sure it will start it, but because of the Type of the load on that Type of battery, you have a HIGH Risk of blowing up the battery, which aint a good idea if you have seen a Li-PO Battery explode, and.. no it doesnt take 60-100 amps for small cars, who ever told you that needs to go visit a REAL auto electrician, who will tell you that its more likely around 120-200 amps

  • If there is no such thing, you should make an easy to hook up version and patent it. You could end up making a lot of money =)

  • Thunderf00t's car makes me smile :-)

He surely makes the best videos on religion and science matters in Youtube but I wish someone would donate him money for his brilliant work to allow him a car that matches his genuine positive influence on human knowledge :-)

Compare Thunderf00t against all the corrupt lying TV preachers in the USA who live like rich celebrities.

Thunderf00t is so clearly motivated by a genuine sincere interest in spreading the truth and not his personal gains.

  • Work on that more and sell it as an invention lol

    A chargeable emergency jump starter.

  • @Ozzy0sbourne Canadian tire made one that plugs in the lighter plug and does the same thing

  • friggin brilliant a lipo hey u can install a diode in line on one of ur leads wich will alow power to flow out only so when u jump start it it won't allow power back into the lipo batt but i sujest puting the diod on the old jumper box lead side

  • @biggdaddy2001 That might work, but you'd need one huge diode. With 100 amps peak load the diode would get hot and drop at least 1 volt (silicon diodes only.)

  • sounds like you need a new engine belt

  • I have done this many times after being at the field all day you can use a drill batt to

  • Fiat Bravo?

  • Amazing!

  • Can you use it to jump start venomfangx 's brain??

  • @voodoomath

    lmao

  • LOL

  • @voodoomath nah his brain is dead

  • @voodoomath

    lol

  • It's very good that you disconnected the battery almost immediately after starting - a car alternator charges lead acid batteries at 14.4V, which for a 3s lipo pack equates to 4.8V per cell, which would damage them and make them puff up if they were already fully charged since max charging voltage for lipos is 4.25V/cell.! Very good video, thanks for posting!

  • MacGuyver!

  • Cool video, but it lets the mind wonder why only the US stick to gasoline while the rest of the world is trying to convert to full electric with the new Li-ion batteries. Even India is investing full throttle into electric. Li-ion technology doest just save you when you have a dead bat in your old car, it runs the car smoother and with no sound, no tailpipe, and yep aloooot of torque

  • Ok, I will ask a small question, it's just a question no need to flame.

So, if you switch to an electric car, which you would supposedly charge at home. That means that you would have to provide more power to charge the car battery, thus the burning of more fossil fuels at a power plant.

Doesn't the increased load at a power plant negate the effects of switching to an electric car?

  • the plan isn't to just get cars off of fossil fuels it's to get more of our electricity from hydroelectric and wind sources. also you get quite a bit more electricity for your oil than you would just using it in a car. let's say 1 gallon of gas gets you 10 miles in your car. that same gallon of gas converted to electricity can give you enough electricity to travel 30 miles. i don't know the exact conversion rate but you it is more.

  • tehdarkceroez has a great point, it's more effective to use fuels to make electricity and then use that instead of burning it in a vehicle that only uses less then 30% and wastes the rest (as heat mostly). But I would go even further. The cars pollute nothing, and so we pass on the pressure to the power companies, when the cars dont pollute, the next step will be the power plants.

  • You can say removing pollution from cars still leaves the power plants polluting even more (arguable), but we leave a clean platform for the next generation of power plants to come in. And they will, fossil fuels will not last forever, fortunatly. Plus, investigate a bit on companies like a better place (produce only 100% clean electricity)

  • How much time did it take you to think up of this? Are you an electrician or some kind of James Bond? Very creative man.

  • what kind of car is that? (first i thought it was a honda civic)

  • Its a Zippy-H !! 3s 2500mAh i guess?

I have flown them with 2 in series in a Su29 pulling 60A continous! Just slightly warm.

But you didn't realy start on the lipo battery itself, you used it a bit to charge the car battery.

You should make a relais that the altenator is disconected if you get over 12.4~6 volts charging at the lipo.

    Say goodbye to lead batteries!

  • Let's see Jesus do that!

  • Science! isn't it amazing.

  • PCS would ask us to send money like the rest of those slime-ball evangelists.

  • haha PCS ... what a tool

  • Battery chargers are cheap. Probably a better bet in the long run.

  • That is so dangerous its not even worth. If that lipo gets to much current from the alternator IT WILL EXPLODE pretty quickly. Do not play around with Lipo batteries.

  • Jeez, you're like MacGyver.

  • Comment removed

  • I suppose you could if you were already at risk for one. So in that instance, the shock would be more of a trigger, rather than the cause of death. Chances are you would've had one the next time you had a troublesome bowel movement a la Elvis.

  • no it can kill you 100amps can kill you just depends on if you take that full hundred or not if ya do you could be fucked not garrunteed but id rather not take the risk but if ur dumb enough to follow up ur words try it i wont cry either way it goes

  • A car battery by itself produces 12 volts DC, and it won't electrocute anyone. You can grab the terminals of the battery with both hands and it won't hurt you. In order to feel it at all, you would need moisture. You see, DC current is not the same as AC. It can only displace to a source equal to it, not overload the source. In other words, under no circumstance can your battery give you 100amps. Another battery? Yes. You? No. Your last comment? Infantile.

  • Well said!

I agree, you can grab the terminals, with no effect what so ever.

(Ive met one person so dumb in the past, they actually believed that when a car's engine is not running, the battery has no charge! hahaha)

  • i saw smoke when he pointed the camera up after connecting it...what was that all about?

  • your room is much cleaner than mine

  • Yeah this is pretty impressive. If you have the knowledge (even relatively simple understanding) you can do some pretty bizarre and interesting things with electrical currents. Gotta be careful though, you can easily kill yourself with the power in a car battery.

  • No you can't.

  • He's right, you can't. Not even enough voltage to penetrate the skin. You may have the crap scared out of you when it shocks you, but that's about it.

  • Get some air in that front tire.

  • Please, clean your room. :-)

  • that was not his room -_-

  • Ion or Polymer? you said it was both (at different points in the video)

  • why dont you ever show your face? its a like a mystery

  • He has a video where he shows his face.

  • really, which one is it?

  • It's called, Have you ever told a lie?.. and other stuff

  • thanx : )

  • Is it just me or did he hook both leads directly onto the battery?

    He should know better!!!

  • lithium polymer, i use the same

  • Anyway, thunderf00t i wish you were a woman so i could marry you....hell why bother with that.

Lets run away and experiment together with biology!

  • dude... serrious!

  • The dood is cool, let leave it at that.

  • Automatic

  • I don't think you can do that with an automatic, can you?

  • Your thinking of a push start, you can jump start anything.

  • I know. I was replying to someone who suggested he should have bumped it. Doesn't seem to have attached to their comment though.

  • Interesting way of getting weight down on a sports car methinks, why havn't someone like Caterham thought of this?

  • They have been used in sports cars before, but they add a ton of cost. That is why we use lead-acids

  • agree with ozzie2005, a very messy room indeed.

Guess you are not living there, must be your hobby room.

  • dude carefull those lithium polimer bateries. That shit can birst into flames if you charge it in a wrong way.

  • that was cool and all but don't airplanes like that cost $200 or so?

  • oh, guys give the man his praise. it was interesting. dangerous but interesting. And the writer that said god did, that maybe true but god gave man the ability to think.

  • Dude I'm one of your biggest fans, but whats up with the shitty car and the messy room? C'mon I thought you'd be driving a beemer at least with that intellect. Shit dude write a book, with as many fans as you have you could be pounding some brew at the beach with some senoritas in no time. Let's do this! Hope all is well from a latin freethinker

  • Brilliant minds have other stuff to think about then houseworks....atleast thats what i tell myself.

  • the model plane battery didn't start your car, God did. once again you atheists can't see god's work

  • Lol

  • thats not very clever. it could of been very dangerous :-o

  • pppfthh. any kind of battery can produce any kind of current.. (well no, but for sake of argument most can).. just cover your eyes dude.. wtf. "scre up" your batteris is a pretty nice way of saying "explode"... Still fun though XD

  • OMG TF's hands! Now we can reconstruct his entire body! He's a 7 foot tall black man!

Sigh, I wish he hadn't made that video revealing his face...

  • sweet, thunderf00t drives a honda =D

  • :O Amazing!

  • FYI you should always connect and disconnect the negitive first.

  • what a mess lol

  • lol someone needs to clean their room.

  • Better then VenomFangX's idea. (Jesus)

  • "Jesus make my care go!"

-and his prayers were never answers-

  • Brilliant!

  • tires look pretty flat too

  • All hail the mighty Thunderf00t!!!

  • how are you so freaking smart/crafty? :P

  • Nice win there.

  • Win.

  • Looks like you just missed the snow coming in!

  • sounds like u got a loose cam belt

  • If he had a loose cambelt his engine would have seized , you mean it sounds like his belt to his alternator is loose and needs adjusting to help charge his already knackered battery.

  • Excellent work! Your videos never fail to impress!

  • I would take that battery in asap, or u will have to use that plane battery everywhere and everytime u car dies.

  • Also dropping a Li-Po's voltage too low, even momentarily, can destroy the battery too so that was a lucky result given the load of a car.

BTW, my Traxxas Rustler (brushless motor) car will go over 70 mph making it faster than the gas powered off the shelf models. You can YouTube the model if you like.

i also have an electric "3D" helicopter, an Align TRex. Although less powerful than the car it has impressive lift and will fly for about 15 minutes on a charge. 2.6 Amp-Hr

    Cheers

  • I'm a big fan of Thunderf00t and I didn't know he was into electric models. I am too.

I have a 3 cell Li-Po battery on my Traxxas electric car that is rated to deliver 250 amps in a burst or 125 amps continously! 5 amp-Hrs

This experiment was dangerous on a couple of counts though:

    1. Li-Pos can self destruct in flames by being overcharged and 12.7 is close to that limit. A car will charge to around 14.2 volts so it could have exploded from that.

  • Coool

  • BTW, think the front wheel needs some air. 4:29

  • deans connectors, good man :D have them for my rc cars.

  • could make a charger that hooks into the cigarette lighter, thats usaly hooked right up to the battery other then the fuse. and keep one in your console for emergency, can also unplug it quickly to keep it from being back charged

  • if your car has a standard transmission, couldnt you have just push-started it? thats what i used to do with my 1966 ford mustang when the battery died. good job though.

  • I want to start a "buy Thunderf00t a new car" fund

  • Nice Job

  • He left the car door open for a couple of days? its awonder it wasn't trashed or stolen by the following morning .

  • WOWY!!!!!!!!

  • You don't realize how good I feel knowing a stud like thunderf00t drives a POS like me. :D

  • oh my that was amazing, jumping a car battery with a battery from a toy plane wow wow

  • I jumped when I heard the plane start. Freaked me out. lol

    Great job starting the car

  • is that a camera on that plane?

  • omg its a BOMB haha jks

  • SCIENCE BE PRAISED!

  • Wow.. A miracle..

    Praise the Lord

  • I fail to see how that is ironic. And his lack of belief in any deities has little to do the tidiness of his house. Your comment is bad and you should feel bad.

  • I lol'd

  • looks like his driver front tire need some air to

  • Thunderf00t has a messy house, a sign of a true genius.

  • Yes, I agree

  • why has this video appeared on my NEW subscriptions section 3 times?

  • last night my subscription list started showing me videos from 2 weeks ago. I think Youtube is sick.

point is your not the only one to have this problem.

  • Yes, all kinds of videos are reappearing in my subscriptions box. It's very annoying.

  • Good on ya' Tf00t.

  • Haha, clever! I need to carry one of those around with me from now on.

  • LOL XD
