  • @girlfromipanema1966 They´ve done more for mankind with their music than any soldier for any country did. And yes - I´ve served my country

  • I have only one question; did any band member of Pink Floyd serve their country in the military? Yes or No, goddamn it !

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 Yes they were all high ranking generals in the army of great entertainment. Thanks for asking.

  • I wonder if Nick digs Uncrustables.

  • "Listen son," said the man with the gun, "There's room for you inside."

  • Wow was Nick Mason snotty or what? I'd like an apple pie, with NO crust. LOL! Its ok Nick I still love ya.

  • All I want to know is whether any band member of Pink Floyd ever served their country in the military. I will reserve my final judgement of them until I know the answer.

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 Roger Waters father opposed World War II and drove an ambulance to avoid serving. At some point he changed his mind and enlisted. He died when Roger was 5 months old. I don't know about any of the other members, I just learned this because it kind of relates to The Wall.

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 You're a complete dolt! Roger Waters lost his father in war, and it shaped is outlook from there on. War only deprives children of their fathers/parents. Citizenship has never been derived from military service, in any civilization.

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 Your comment makes absolutely no sense.... I don't even know how to respond to it!

  • R.I.P. Rick...

  • david gilmour is the very handsome one not roger waters

  • and not the crust

  • Phenomenal.

  • Make them a Slice of Pie that look exactly like the 'Dark Side of the Moon' Pyramid. d-_-b

  • All I'm saying is that not one of these guys ever served in the military; not one of them had the decency and honor to serve their country.

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 if you've ever listened to absolutely any of their music its very clear that they are all anti-war. why should they fight in something they clearly don't agree with you absolute idiot.

  • The first time I saw this (in a movie theater with a really good sound system), I was utterly stunned at how GOOD this was. This is the kind of cinema verite' we don't see very much of anymore. You are literally viewing the genesis of one of the greatest albums of all time. Rick Wright: parked behind that huge Steinway, noodling, working out the riffs on (IMHO) the best track on the album while Alan Parsons is inside the control room, fiddling with the buttons to get that awesome mix.

    Wow...

  • @BurnTheEnvelope The nose is one of the two parts of the body that never stops to grow during lifetime... No need for surgery!

  • "Listen son," said the man with the gun, "There's room for you inside."

  • "People think of us as a very drug-orientated group. Of course, we're not" (wry smile) :)

  • GD! This is the s**t! I've daydreamed about being there when this was done.

  • Who is that playing the piano?

  • Comment removed

  • @astralislux that's Rick Wright

  • @astralislux Richard Wright

  • Actually it's another Pink Floyd conspiracy. If you convince the masses that the Crust isn't relevant you get more Crust. Join the Crustless masses.

  • Oh Nick, you're exaclty like me.. <3

  • Yeah, the post Sid Barrett Floyd wasn't as in to Acid as people think. Look, they're sober as nuns in this clip.

  • They've only got the round apple pies now, Nick. Want one?

I'm still trying to figure out the apple pie bit. Was he wanting them to just cut a square shape out of the whole pie, thereby bypassing the crust? But I'm thinking they were just messing around. I've read that the Floyd had great senses of humor.

  • heey , are you see the red bar ? ooh yeah , I see only the green !!!

  • como me encanta la risa de richard....

  • if you get pie with the crust, just dont funkin eat it!!

  • I love pie crust

  • LOL reminds me of Spinal tap

  • Cómo pueden ser tan queribles estos tipos!!

  • Piece of pie but not a corner piece? Good luck with that waitress.

  • I know you may get alot of mislead guidance with music nowadays.

but let me direct you to my channel. you like floyd? youll like us. love hendrix? youll love us. Give my channel a chance. trust me youve got nothing to loose and a new great psychedelic band to gain. Promise.

  • DO you know where i can get this film?

  • @nothingelsematterz00 download it from thepiratebay. the original cut.

  • 0:10-0:31 everybody seems angry for the pie with crust, ha,ha,ha,ha

  • i have seen an actual music video for "us and them" before but i cannot find it on youtube.

  • I laugh at that old hag from Panema... obviously she doesn't know anything about PF or else she would have known that they are more successful in their lives than most others..especially her. She's just bitter and knows she's inferior to even the smallest of microscopic amphibian shit

lol, dont insult or attempt to troll the floyd, bitch. Us fans are rabid like you wouldn't believe.

  • @luxiniv320 Reason is not automatic. Those who deny it cannot be conquered by it. Do not count on them. Leave them alone.

    Ayn Rand

  • Hahaha 3:24.

    We're not exactly...cha-him-a-ho-hum.

  • .................just listen to the music.

  • People who don't like the music of PF do not have any Idea what good music is! And who da hell needs a ************ army?

  • @trapone100

countries with insecurities because nobody likes them are who needs armies

  • "Can you get me a fruit pie and cream" You can also hear what sounds to be Hendrix speaking 0:08 obviously on TV because when this was filmed, he had already passed away.

  • that guy better not leave the crust on

one of the gods will get angry

  • well we're not exactly...juh huh hamm hmm...hahahhahhHAHAHAHAHHAHAGAGAHAHA

  • The Dark Side of the Moon is one of those grand albums. One that will never be replicated. The musicianship on this album is superb. I am waiting patiently for the Immersion set of DSOTM to come out in Sept. It shall be mine! Oh and The DVD this footage was taken off is a great work of art. Pink Floyd live in the 70's man. Someone needs to make a time machine so younger fans can see em live.

  • what's wrong with crusts nick?

  • Certain "drugs" can open/expand your mind/ point of view just saying.

  • 3:58 - WHY DIDN'T THEY PUT IT IN THE SONG???

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 im not sure if you are trolling, or just very stupid. please, please say it is the former and that you are not calling some of the greatest musicians of all time worthless. Everyone has their opinion i guess, if you don't like their music, you don't like it, but artists have contributed just as much to the world we know today as soldiers. Read up on the Renaissance and tell me that those artists would have done better for our civilization by putting on a uniform

  • @mbeckwith146 It's a pity that Pink Floyd band members never served in the military; things might have worked out for them in life.

  • @mbeckwith146 .love it`.

  • @mbeckwith146 It's useless trying to reason with parochial rabble. They only know the way of the gun.

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 normally I would rant against music haters like you, but I just don't even know what the **** you're talking about..

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 ???? I mean, ????

  • @poncandn1 Not one of those band members in Pink Floyd ever served in the military. Not one of them served in the Army!

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 I done forgot what I questioned you about and why youre telling me none (PF) ever served. I must have been responding to the comment you made that has now been removed.

  • @poncandn1 It's a pity that none of the band members in Pink Floyd ever served in the military; things might have worked out for them in life.

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 Troll comment if I ever saw one!

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966

Because people serving in the military are the only ones who ever make it in life.

Pink Floyds musicians are able to get up every day, do something they love doing, enrich the lives of people who can appreciate what they do, and make a better-than-average living doing it.

The military does good things and bad things, but it's fundamentally an instrument of war whichever way you look at it. It's an institution of our capacity for violence and aggression one way or another.

  • @InnuendoXP My friend, I have only one question for you;

did any band members of Pink Floyd serve in the Army? Yes or No!

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966

My friend, I have a question for you:

Did Hitler serve in the military? Yes or no!

  • @InnuendoXP Hey troll...remember Hitler was a failed artist. Imagine if he wasn't

  • @macreds

I have, and in that world he was merely a successful artist who fails. Stalin also lasts an extra decade. Then Japan rapes all of Asia and nobody really cares.

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 Dieing for anothers will and lust for sin, power, violence, and money. serving disgusting crimes on humanity like retaliation, revenge, and cold blooded murder. destroying economys and killing, That is your Fascist war machine. they chose the path of peace and you, Being a hateful sinful creature expressed your stubborn disaproval. i pity you

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 what is your problem with people needing to serve in the army!??! its not for everyone. just chill about it. it doesn't mean that person is shameful and unemployed and has ruined their life! you're an idiot!

  • What problem does Nick have with crust? If I ever meet him I'm going to ask him.

  • not to be a musical smartass by why are the songs higher in tone?

  • @guitarguy951 Because this is no original footage but contrived by Floyd for their pompeii project.

This is the Live at pompeii 1974 version which was released 2 years after the first one. in the 1974 version the Dark Side recording scenes were put in, but at the time of recording the film they've had already finished recording the album and they were about mixing at that time, so they contrived the recording scenes.

Hope that explains things ;) cheers

  • who the fuck said roger was ugly??!?!?!?!??!

  • @Mrjablles69 . .he looks like Richard Gere now .. lol

  • @Mrjablles69 Well, with David and Rick in the same band, the 'beauty' of Roger was not very well appreciated. =/

  • @Mrjablles69 Idk...But whoever says that can EAT MY DICK!

  • ummm...what does this have to do with...live at pompeii?...sorry for being ignorant!

  • @Mrjablles69 it's from the film even though theyre not in pompeii on this song

  • May Wright Rest In Peace.

  • Conceived by the French director Adrian Maben as "an anti-Woodstock film," Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii was shot in October 1971 in a vacant, 2,000-year-old amphitheater--a venue chosen to accentuate the grandeur and spaciousness of the band's Meddle-era music. This disc contains a new, 90-minute director's cut as well as the original 60-minute concert film, whose production and effects feel inescapably dated. Maben's cut goes to great lengths to lend the film a more contemporary feel.

  • Nick, give me the crust plz lol

  • Richard was so beatiful...

  • Gilmour was so hot.

  • I'm 44 now and have had a copy of this album since I was 11, I shall have a copy of it until I die, in fact I have the whole album on my mobile phone right now : )

  • Why doesn't this have a million views?

  • @ToxicTurquoise454 because the greatest music in the world is not for everyone

  • You mean a trillion views?

  • wtf the crust is the best part.

  • @pinhead739 Says you. The moist part is much better.

  • lolz Richard Wright's sweater. He can really rock a sweater though. RIP

  • Pink Floyd is theeee best thing to happen in life!!! I would not be even remotely the same person that i am today if i'd never found out about them

  • Someone offered Nick Mason a join at 2:45 HAHAHAHAAHAH

  • lol 3:10 made me laugh to myself a bit just cus of their image i dunno if they did drugs or not but its possible :p

  • they were skinny in those times

  • The first time I heard "Dark Side of the Moon" was a religious experience.

    I was14 years old.

  • GET THE MAN A GOD DAMN APPLE PIE WITH NO FUCKING CRUST

  • Two comments: Dick Parry sounds awesome on the sax. Mason's horseshoe moustache kicks ass.

  • @bpvogel agree

I love this version of U+T. Also I like the Raw cuts of this album from Pompie video...

Wonder if they release some on special

  • I remember seeing this movie when I was in college during the 80's. Never seen anything else like it. Oh, I also saw "Henry, portrait of a Serial Killer" too. Great movie.

  • Richard Wright you will be missed greatly forever!

  • 3:24 nick mason is fukng wired , lol

  • Us.........

    and them.

  • I was just wondering how Rolling Stone didn't include them in their "100 greatest musicians/bands of all times" I just can't understand this

  • @lucksantistaFC Include them? How were they not #1? thats my question

  • @lucksantistaFC I didnt know that, they should be at least top 20, what a fucking joke

  • @lucksantistaFC Rolling Stone didn't include them in their "100 greatest musicians/bands of all times" because that magazine sold out to a pseudo-intellectual elitist group of society.

  • @CAinfowarrior Rolling Stone sucks horse cock, they think they are so smart. Last time I checked you play with your soul and your balls, check your head at the door.

  • @CAinfowarrior i know who's laughing now... the sound of london lives in this sound

  • One without crust!!! ahahaahah great Mason

  • Just... PERFECT. It´s poetry... magic... god.

  • one without crust....

  • one without crust....

  • Supermoon looming large tonight, and it got me thinking about you Rick. RIP, man. Your music lives forever : )

  • How come so many musicians in rock are high voiced? Even Nick Mason sounds like a tenor.

But fact remains that some rough 60 % or so of all males are baritones.

    It doesn't fit!

  • @Jouwl I think maybe there is a possibility that the bands who have the best chance of becoming successful and famous have singers with high voices because that is what most people want to hear in rock music. Or maybe it's because the record labels know that's what sells. History kind of shows it. Go figure. Blues however....

  • @1ptpicker

You don't explain why Nick Mason is a tenor that way, though.

  • @Jouwl yeah. I can't understand how Gilmour and Rick hit these high notes that they do in many of the songs

  • 3:25 = LSD flashback

  • I love crust from a pie, but I guess not everyone likes crust.

  • whats with Mason trying to get pie without the crust? He must be high as hell : o

  • @annmarra

Apparently they had square pies. A center piece would not have much crust. He didn't want any round pie when offered some. He wanted a piece of square apple pie. How could a guy who wants square pie be high?

  • I get the fuckin chills when I listen to this song!!!!!! Aaaaahhh wat would I do without Pink Floyd?!?

  • '...and after all we're only ordinary men'......with an extraordinary talent!!!

  • lol roger is that a funny fag?

  • 1:10 CHARLIE SHEEN!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • This was "extra" footage that was shot to lengthen the Live From Pompeii film. It was shot quite some time after the pompeii shoot. It is a wonderful accident it just happens to catch them recording one of the most famous albums ever. You can hear Rick getting towards the final performance from the album cut as well as the slightly different sax piece from Dick Parry. So incredible that this exists.

  • @weemalky nice history, ty

  • I'd give up the rest of my life just to be able to go back to this time period and hear/see/talk to these guys.

  • "Could you get me a fruit pie and cream" Can't get much more British than that can you?

  • that doesnt look like Pompeii?

  • 4 people who pressed dislike are not drug-oriented -- you can trust them.

  • They should eliminate all dislike buttons

  • Don't worry, Gilmour... We trust in you!

  • Very Very good thanx thanx this music is a unic paradise anti stress zen attitude

  • Sure David I trust you.

Now stop bogarting the joint! This track is HOT!

  • I trust you, David... ;)

  • I want a pie with ALL CRUST.

  • Nick Mason @ 2:48 "I'd rather none than a round one, or one with crust". Funny as.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not a cornerpiece.

  • when music was treated as art and man the bands back then at there prime zepplin queen the who need i say more

    love it!

  • whahh!! it's without the echo on the vocals!!

  • i cried when i saw richard wright :( it wasent his time to go...

  • A brilliant song from a brilliant band especially in those days. So talented.

  • How does one get pie without crust?

  • @faceofpo baked fruit?

  • Comment removed

  • @faceofpo When you're a GOD, you get whatever you want...

  • @danielgoats who would want to get whatever you wanted? that's no fun at all.

  • Great song!!!

  • A unique magic moment captured in time, that we never saw again.

This were the recording sessions of one of the musics of "The Dark Side Of The Moon" very few time after 3 days of "isolation" and inspiration on Pompeii...

The most magic moment on the entire history of music.

  • Pie! It's a snak best served crustless!

  • nick was kinda being a dive there

  • 3:25 = Acid Flashback

  • Very cool.............

  • Hey! Not even Pink Floyd themselves gets to interrupt a Pink Floyd song like that. Disrespecting their own work.

  • what's the song he play on piano at the start?

  • @fmanti85 us and them

  • @fmanti85 I'd say it's The Violent Sequence, the demo for Us and Them.

  • "tea....tea?.....tea"

  • Rick's piano is so beautiful, this is without a doubt my favorite Pink Flyd song in the world. These guys together make the most beautiful, touchingly true music.

    R.I.P. Richard Wright

    and

    LONG LIVE ROCK!

  • @TheBeatlefloyd The Beatles and Pink Floyd, greatest bands of all time followed by The Beach Boys :)

  • @MindstormRecs haha thanks, The Beatles and Pink Floyd are my favorite bands for sure :)

  • Somebody get the man some pie! And hold the crust! ;-)

I adore this whole video-- it is amazing to see the band constructing this album and stepping out from Syd's shadow, to create something which will be one of THE great albums.

  • the only band that i dont mind being a bunch of spoilt little posh kids
