As they slowly rise from the marshes, wrinkles on their rotting faces, a slow march. They scream in pain, still marching to the horns of death. Thousands upon thousands dead men rise, summoned by Ozimandias. One man stands to face the army of the dead, and Ozimandias himself. One stand, to save his loved ones, one stand to survive, one stand to put an end to Ozimandias' reign.
Blood roots for sure, anyone in Brazil who has a Spanish last name most likely has ancestors who murdered these tribesmen pictured on the album cover by the 100's of thousands and black slavery wasn't abolished in S.America until almost the 20th century and they talk about the mean old U.S.A.Good album as far as the music itself goes.
@EBBadd1 A Portuguese name, you mean? Actualy, most of the people with portuguese names in Brazil have amerindian ancestry, they mixed up really well.
@MrTedus RIGHT!? dude for some reason, fucking metal makes me chill... haha, people don't understand, it makes all your feelings better... for example it makes me relaxed haha!
@63AIONSON Do u know what she told me? i was playing the song in my room and i was so excited and i sang CAN YOU TAKE IT CAN YOU TAKE IT.....she looked at me and said Go fuck yourself! :s but at the end of the song i was singing along AT THE END YOU BETTER SHOW SOME RESPECT I SAID U BETTER SHOW SOME RESPECT.....she ended up slapping my face! fucking awesome!
I didn't listen to this piece since, i think, 3 years. Today I'm listening it and a lot of memories comes to my mind. 1995. I LOVED this disc, my favourite. So fresh and new. So tribal, so ancient and in the same time, new.
metal macumba.formula perfecta.aunque hermetica en el 1991 hablaba de los aborigenes expulsados de sus tierras de america del sur antes que sepultura que recien se aceitaba el tema de los indio en la banda. 39 MAFFIA CUBANA musica agreesiva autista from argentina!
Enfim, vou no Rock in Rio.
faltou pouco À hegemonia, medo ao acréscimo de timbalada / candomblé de fãs e alguns membros.
@DataPiraten@00morpheu already told you the name, so i gonna just complement the informations. the berimbau is used in capoeira games with several percussion instruments, and he leads the rythm of the game. this video shows a lot about the berimbau, from manufacturing to playing, but it is in Portuguese and has no caption... /watch?v=XLfFtHFuKa0
@DataPiraten Its an Berimbau my friend,an instrument from Brazil, that is from Bahia,an state of brazil :D
I was bor on bahia btw,and is really famous there, because of the capoeira,an national martial art that is really famous on bahia(only on bahia D: ) \o
i got to confess , never was a heavy metal fan [ today's ] was more a seventies hard rock guy , but this sepultura band just got me HOOKED ! on . WOW!
I like how Sepultura really paved the way for Metalcore on this album, yet no one ever says anything about them being influences. It's like how rap metal was founded by Anthrax with "I'm the Man" in 1987. This song rocks. This and Lookaway are awesome.
@ChromaticDeathVox nah not really, i think Pantera did, with Vulgar Display of Power. I mean listen to the song "by demons be driven" as an example, there's all thats up with metalcore: screams, breakdowns, hardcore rythms. Pantera invented fuckin modern metal man
@Doika86 I guess that is true, but this album really made it so that no technical ability was really required for modern metal. I will agree that Pantera definitely had a hand in paving the way as well though. I will say this though, modern metal and metalcore really suck, this album rules, but god do I hate breakdown music.
@ChromaticDeathVox yeah all modern metal sucks no matter who it's by or hell, how it even sounds, if it's modern, it's defiantely no worth listening too. jeez man there's been good and bad music all the time, it's just no one remembers the bad stuff after a while casue it fell from significance. i dislike a lot of metalcore like you, but to say ALL modern metal sucks is unfair.
@GSratm OI didn't say ALL modern metal, but I do think about 98% of it does. The thing is though, when I think of the coined term "modern metal" all that comes to mind, for me, is Lamb of God, and I fucking despise them. Breakdowns and shitty minor 3rd scales do not make you a technical or even aggressive metal band, in my opinion, it just sounds like a cheap Slayer imitation (not that Slayer is lame) that can't stand up to the task of playing fast. Either way this song rules.
@GutsandGlory45 Get over myself, man, you don't even know the first thing about me. Also, how does being alert to the world of music and not enjoying it makes me ignorant? Perhaps you should consult a dictionary, for you are using the word ignorant very incorrectly. I may be STUBBORN, but I don't mind it, you seem to be the one who has the problem and is choosing to insult me because I have an opinion on music. At least I can laugh, for your insult just makes you look like the fool.
@ChromaticDeathVox Just because you have a opinion that I will respect doesn't mean I cannot say that you 'opinion' is close minded to say the least. Stubbornness is never good thing, as it leads to ignorance. To say 98% of modern metal sucks as a HUGE over statement. Just because metal has branched out and evolved doesn't mean it is sucky or deserves less respect or attention.
@GutsandGlory45 That would be your opinion, and we all know that opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink. I have given a lot of modern music a chance, I can't help that I think it sucks, you may not, but I do. I am stubborn, but also I am open minded, the way I look at music is; some people like one thing, and some another, and therefore it is my right as a human to dislike what I dislike. You don't have to agree with me, but to insult me is childish.
Yea I love how Supultura is so under rated I sentdpeople these songs and ther like who the fuck is this, my god there so good, lol and i'm like yeah i know hehe.
@FiestaAFX of course, the best album from sepultura , BUT ITS DANGEROUS TO SAY "in the history". fuck it, ITS SOMETHING REALY SPECIAL AND FUCKING GREAT ! love it forever!
