@gatorsrule850 Actually the physics in GT5 can be compared to games like Rfactor or iRacing and also the physics engine in GT5 is getting better by each update.

@gatorsrule850 Like I said Polyphony updates GT5 to make the game and the physics better. Just recently GT5 updated the physics of the Chapparal 2J car for more grip cause of its fan system. GT5 is on ongoing development to be coming perfect.

I try to skid into the AI cars sideways, keeping me from hitting the walls. You can be quite the demolition man without a DQ on the cars if you target the sides. A well, the only license left to obtain gold on.
I finally got this one 1:24.492 first lap 1:21.054 last lap. I smashed first out of the way in the last corner before the finish line and used him to turn XD
amazing game and amazing car! I' ve tried all afternoon to arrive 1st.. but i could just arrive 2nd.. i will keep trying and trying... I want more licenses! gt mode is too easy, instead license (get gold) makes me sweat!
@thicvbr Keep trying! This one is all about brute force and ignorance! The more you play it the more you get to know the track and the patterns of the AI drivers. Gradually you'll get it.
gonna just settle with silver for this as not going for trophies, maybe come back to it when I'm a better driver. The car sucks, thanks to jawehawk for setup advice as it seemed to make the car a lot more stable or at least I believed that it was by turning everything but ABS off. The car seems less like its on an ice rink.
Thanks a lot, just got it after around 50 tries. I never was as fast as you are in the video, but didn't recognized where I was too bad/slow. It was the sharp 40° turn to the right after you are in front of the orange lamborghini. Tips for everybody who is still making this: Brake a little bit more than you would normally do before that turn and then accelerate much earlier then you gain more speed.
Now that they patched the game, a good way to try to get well ahead of the yellow muira (3rd car) at the hairpin is to crash into the white at the start. If you do it right, u shud be able to slow down without braking but also keep ur speed to speed past the green car before going into the straight before the hairpin. This should let you go past the yellow muira, take a wider angle at the hairpin and finish the first lap under 1.24 for a real chance to get gold.
Oh and another thing... i'm from Italy and this fucking noob hateful circuit doesn't exist: 1- Read on WIkipedia that the project to do a circuit was abbandoned in early 2011 (because i could understand that there were problems with Monza) and GT5 was only sold on 24/11/2010
2- The circuit CAN'T pass around the colosseum because there's a square always teeming of tourists there and not a big RACING street
3- the pilots would blaspheme of this fucking dribbler bastard circuit
YEEEEEEEE I FINALLY BECAME THIRD AFTER AT LEAST 40 ATTEMPTS. The secret is to destroy the orange Miuria (the third one), crashing on it... Then the other cars are all noobs so you can easily pass them :)
dont overdo the brakes on the final S curves, you MUST find a suitable line in order to gain speed.
TCS 2, no assists.
you must pass the orange miuria before or during the tight curve, you must pass the 2nd place silver countach in the 1st curve of the second lap. ITS ABOUT LEARNING HOW TO PACE THE TRACK SO KEEP TRYING!!
This is possibly the hardest liscence to do that ive come across so far... took at least an hour.... only managed to do it by perfecting EVERY corner... if your not past the Orange Muira before the long straight next to the river restart... and be aware you will probably only pass the Black lambo on the bit where he did... thats the earliest i got up to him...
took roughly 2 hours plus to do it. Traction Control 2, Active Steering Strong, everything else default. my advice, hop it helps, dont be afraid to take risk, in terms of badging into other cars, thats what I did. also, just drive good, no need to be perfect.
ive tried this loads of times now and im basically flat out through the course... it looks like im driving better that you are yet i can never get gold... i think its the last s bend that is messing up my gold but i cant get close to the 1st car... any ideas.. ive the traction control off aswel and i can handle the car perfectally but dono whats goin wrong... please write back!

After the newest update, it took 2 times! Gotta get to 3rd before the end of the first lap, and be able to pass at the first turn of the 2nd lap. Wasn't too bad
@blackbpm88 Thats why I'm still at update 1.02. I want to get 60 gold before I get the newest update. they made the game that hard for a reason. If your skilled you should be able to get it done. I might however get the new update before i get all gold in the grand tour and that sh*tty top gear lotus race, I can't seem to catch the leader. 2nd all day long never first.

AAAHHH YEEESSS!!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!! After 2 days trying, I watched you video and 10 tries later I got it!!! Was drinking a beer, don't know if that is relevant....... Some tips, when you get to first, drive safely, I crashed 3 times in first. If you try too many times in a row, you'll get too stressed to pass, I decided to grab a beer and watch some videos and passed in the 10th try. Also, when you get a good configuration for TC and ABS stick to it and get some experience there...
The creators made this game too difficult to the point where it's not fun. If I don't have fun with a game, then it is a bad game. Video games do need a challenge but if the creators overdo it then fuck it. This game really disappointed me. Not only because of the difficulty but because they added to much stuff that doesn't have to be there and did not polish everything.
I'm not buying GT6 after playing this. All the other GT's were perfect but they fucked up their reputation with this one.
@Michaelc817 - Personally I find games these days too easy, so I like that some of the tests or events are tough. Games back in the day were hardcore, use your 3 lives and it's game over, no continues...
@BigBadCrazyDave Don't get me wrong, I love a challenge. But I really don't like when the game takes the difficulty level overboard to the point where nobody has fun playing it. I don't like it when games make whatever you're doing damn near impossible.
Also, the games you're talking about aren't really popular anymore. But, yes, they were hard to beat! But I actually had fun with those games, unlike this one.
@Michaelc817 I do know what you mean, sometimes this game makes me wanna put my controller through the screen. So many times i've been dq'd cos a car hit ME. I reckon they've made some of it harder as there aren't that many events, compared to GT4 anyway.
@Michaelc817 This is why there are gold, silver and bronze trophies. It's nearly impossible to not get bronze but if you wanna get silver and gold, you have to do something or just be good. I tried this one over 100 times, no lie but no I have it because I trained a lot. You could've stop after getting bronze ;-)
just did it. I told myself it was impossible but i just kept trying. Even if you know you wont get first place, still race the last three turns just to get used to them because they are the most important. Just be patient, this took me 3 days.
you were lucky! at the end you ram the Lambo, usually you get disqualified, anyway you fail the brakes that makes the cavalino oversteer, however the first lap was very good
@CTrix301 I know exactly what you mean. Most of my restarts come from this fucking shit. If I can make it through there and wind up behind the corvette after the turn, I know I'm in decent shape..
Tips for the slightly above average racer using a sixaxis like myself: (1) You need at least 3 hours. (2) The car is ridiculous to drive but you'll get used to it. (3) If you're not behind the Yellow Corvette at the end of Turn 1, restart. (4) If you do not pass the Orange Miura before Turn 3, restart. (5) Lap timings are irrelevant but if your 1st lap is above 1:24.2, restart. (6) If you don't pass the Silver Lambo before Turn 3 on the 2nd lap, restart. (7) Don't hit the final car head on.

@L8erBaby Skill in GT5 is a matter of practice and love for the game. The more you play the better you'll get. IC-10 is probably the most frustrating license to get because I think it's uneven and poorly designed. Sometimes you get DQ'd for a tiny scrape and other times you can crash into cars without a penalty. It's highly imperfect. But after 11 months it's the only license I remember. Fondly. You will be back in a couple of days with news of Gold. Just stick with it. :)

I finally got gold on this, my life is now much better for having done so.. i was comming second alot! so i decided to look at my lowest speeds through the corners, and by making sure the speeds didn't drop bellow a certain amount, i finally beat it, The speeds were, 3rd corner where you pass out the Miura don't go bellow 70kph, the chicane at the end of the back straight, try keep your speed to130kph, and as you leave the final corner be at 100kph, to get into 1st at the 3rd corner, 2nd lap
what I especially hate about this shit is when your're doing everything thing fine for at least 3,000,000 tries, then when you do your 3,000,001st attempt thru your 3,000,040th attempt I start making the dumbest fucking mistakes and it pisses me off!!! hahaha. Can't wait til this crap is done!
I just started the IC-10 test and can't get past the 2nd turn or higher than 12th!! I came by to see how the "pros" have mastered this test. It just takes time and practice - a LOT of it!
This fucking level took me 6 and a half fucking hours of fucking frustration, ready to rip my hair off. God knows how many retries at least in the 500 ball park if not more. To top all this off i have a thrustmaster steering wheel which is great but did give me any advantage over a regular controller. Anyways just wanted to brag for finally completing this impossible level.
@LegguhVids lol I usually hate playing racing games in chase view but I've always played the GT series in this view. If it was a racing sim on my PC I'd be in cockpit view with my G25 wheel.
@GamingStylez iwish i had a wheel for this game. i sometimes use that view for rally, seems easier to powerslide sometimes when you can see the whole car, but most of the time i use the standard front bumper view, easiest to keep track of speed/tact, see ahead of you, and get a good feel for 'car on track'/traction

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I drive the 1st Lap exactly as you did, and my driving isn't exactly bad, but I get position 2 no earlier than in the straight or even after... Already wasted 2 hours or something onn this test.
Make sure u overtake the yellow lambo in the sharp corner before the straight, and become 2nd BEFORE that corner in the next lap. Leave the corner after the straight with 120 - 135 km/h and step on the break for a very short time only before the next corner, drive through it fast, then break down. And in the end, when your 1st, WATCH YOUR BACK! That son of a bitch would've overtaken me again :P
nice vid man, this was a great help to get gold after many many attempts. I had TC set to 7 and ABS 2, found i could make it through with these settings.
Manged to pass for 1st just before the last corner, and like lots of others here. had to give him a gentle nudge out of the way :)
Completed it in about 10 tries, but like you I had to block the way for the no. 1 Lambo in order to finish first, although my way was a little bit more subtle :D!
took me about 5 hours- my advice the start is crucial. If you aren't past the yellow corvette by the time you leave the big turn you wont stand a chance.
Practice going through the first hairpin at around 45-50MPH the most important being exit speed.
the first turn after the hairpin should be about 80MPH going out- not a crucial turn though.
avoid breaking as much as possible on the 2nd to last turn and finally on the last turn speed is not important.Stability is.
the way to control this FR car when you are braking in high speed before take a corner is to hit brake and throttle pedal simultaneously or just play with throttle in and out while braking (i used a racing wheel).
without a full throttle, the car will skid while braking.while take a corner, gear at 2 or 3, put a mid to full throttle to avoid the car off track.this method will lead you to #4 after 1st lap.i figured out this method from legendary Aryton Senna footwork when he was driving a NSX.
The awful collision stuff does my tits in on this game, on this level it takes it to a whole new level. Cars crash into me and yet i get D/Q'd. Reallllyyyyy annoying.

I've just completed it. I only used an hour or something like that. My settings was: ASM off, TC on 5, ABS on 2 and manual. After some tries you'll get it. Good luck :)
Well, I finally get 3rd place after 3rd corner, and I realised that my biggest problem is snake-like corners in the end of the lap. Can you give me some advice of passing this corners? I can't understand everything from this video. I have my speed in kilometres by the way.
@shedevr The best advice for the corners at the end of the lap is to try and drive as straight as possible. You need to pick a line through the corners that will make you turn the least amount as possible. Also, take them slow because if you go too fast you'll wreck due to the instability of the car.
i hated this one cuz the countach hit me near the end and i got dq. i had to do all the work all over again.... but the license so far isn't as hard as i thought it would be

This should let you go past the yellow muira, take a wider angle at the hairpin and finish the first lap under 1.24 for a real chance to get gold.

Oh and another thing... i'm from Italy and this fucking noob hateful circuit doesn't exist: 1- Read on WIkipedia that the project to do a circuit was abbandoned in early 2011 (because i could understand that there were problems with Monza) and GT5 was only sold on 24/11/2010
2- The circuit CAN'T pass around the colosseum because there's a square always teeming of tourists there and not a big RACING street

find a pace for the race
engage in slight late braking
dont overdo the brakes on the final S curves, you MUST find a suitable line in order to gain speed.
TCS 2, no assists.
you must pass the orange miuria before or during the tight curve, you must pass the 2nd place silver countach in the 1st curve of the second lap. ITS ABOUT LEARNING HOW TO PACE THE TRACK SO KEEP TRYING!!

heres some of my (dirty) tips
at first turn you can literally land sliding on the yellow corvette (you wont be disqualified)
at third turn you may ram the miura to "brake".
also keep the sensitivity at 7 or theres no way you will make the turns easily

This is possibly the hardest liscence to do that ive come across so far... took at least an hour.... only managed to do it by perfecting EVERY corner... if your not past the Orange Muira before the long straight next to the river restart... and be aware you will probably only pass the Black lambo on the bit where he did... thats the earliest i got up to him...

took roughly 2 hours plus to do it. Traction Control 2, Active Steering Strong, everything else default. my advice, hop it helps, dont be afraid to take risk, in terms of badging into other cars, thats what I did. also, just drive good, no need to be perfect.
most importantly, be patient and do not quit.

ive tried this loads of times now and im basically flat out through the course... it looks like im driving better that you are yet i can never get gold... i think its the last s bend that is messing up my gold but i cant get close to the 1st car... any ideas.. ive the traction control off aswel and i can handle the car perfectally but dono whats goin wrong... please write back!

I might however get the new update before i get all gold in the grand tour and that sh*tty top gear lotus race, I can't seem to catch the leader. 2nd all day long never first.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! FINALLY YOU PIECE OF SH*T!!!!! I BASHED INTO CARS HERE AND THERE AND LOST ALL GRIP IN TURN TWO AND I DID IT. ITS ALL ABOUT EXIT SPEED!!!! I THOUGHT MY FIRST LAP SUCKED (time would show differently 124.114) MY SECOND LAP WAS PRETTY POOR EXCEPT TURN 2-3. I EVEN HIT THE WALL AND THE LAMBO AROUND THE LAST TURN AND DID IT. I STOPPED MONTHS AGO AND CAME BACK TO IT. IN TOTAL 8-10+ hours!!!!! ;-)

Some tips, when you get to first, drive safely, I crashed 3 times in first. If you try too many times in a row, you'll get too stressed to pass, I decided to grab a beer and watch some videos and passed in the 10th try. Also, when you get a good configuration for TC and ABS stick to it and get some experience there...

The creators made this game too difficult to the point where it's not fun. If I don't have fun with a game, then it is a bad game. Video games do need a challenge but if the creators overdo it then fuck it. This game really disappointed me. Not only because of the difficulty but because they added to much stuff that doesn't have to be there and did not polish everything.
I'm not buying GT6 after playing this. All the other GT's were perfect but they fucked up their reputation with this one.

Also, the games you're talking about aren't really popular anymore. But, yes, they were hard to beat! But I actually had fun with those games, unlike this one.

@Michaelc817 This is why there are gold, silver and bronze trophies. It's nearly impossible to not get bronze but if you wanna get silver and gold, you have to do something or just be good. I tried this one over 100 times, no lie but no I have it because I trained a lot. You could've stop after getting bronze ;-)

just did it. I told myself it was impossible but i just kept trying. Even if you know you wont get first place, still race the last three turns just to get used to them because they are the most important. Just be patient, this took me 3 days.

Tips for the slightly above average racer using a sixaxis like myself: (1) You need at least 3 hours. (2) The car is ridiculous to drive but you'll get used to it. (3) If you're not behind the Yellow Corvette at the end of Turn 1, restart. (4) If you do not pass the Orange Miura before Turn 3, restart. (5) Lap timings are irrelevant but if your 1st lap is above 1:24.2, restart. (6) If you don't pass the Silver Lambo before Turn 3 on the 2nd lap, restart. (7) Don't hit the final car head on.

@L8erBaby Skill in GT5 is a matter of practice and love for the game. The more you play the better you'll get. IC-10 is probably the most frustrating license to get because I think it's uneven and poorly designed. Sometimes you get DQ'd for a tiny scrape and other times you can crash into cars without a penalty. It's highly imperfect. But after 11 months it's the only license I remember. Fondly. You will be back in a couple of days with news of Gold. Just stick with it. :)

I finally got gold on this, my life is now much better for having done so.. i was comming second alot! so i decided to look at my lowest speeds through the corners, and by making sure the speeds didn't drop bellow a certain amount, i finally beat it, The speeds were, 3rd corner where you pass out the Miura don't go bellow 70kph, the chicane at the end of the back straight, try keep your speed to130kph, and as you leave the final corner be at 100kph, to get into 1st at the 3rd corner, 2nd lap

what I especially hate about this shit is when your're doing everything thing fine for at least 3,000,000 tries, then when you do your 3,000,001st attempt thru your 3,000,040th attempt I start making the dumbest fucking mistakes and it pisses me off!!! hahaha. Can't wait til this crap is done!

This fucking level took me 6 and a half fucking hours of fucking frustration, ready to rip my hair off. God knows how many retries at least in the 500 ball park if not more. To top all this off i have a thrustmaster steering wheel which is great but did give me any advantage over a regular controller. Anyways just wanted to brag for finally completing this impossible level.

@GamingStylez iwish i had a wheel for this game. i sometimes use that view for rally, seems easier to powerslide sometimes when you can see the whole car, but most of the time i use the standard front bumper view, easiest to keep track of speed/tact, see ahead of you, and get a good feel for 'car on track'/traction

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I drive the 1st Lap exactly as you did, and my driving isn't exactly bad, but I get position 2 no earlier than in the straight or even after... Already wasted 2 hours or something onn this test.

Well I finally did it.
ABS 8, TCS 7, ASM off.
First lap 1:23, second 1:19.
Make sure u overtake the yellow lambo in the sharp corner before the straight, and become 2nd BEFORE that corner in the next lap. Leave the corner after the straight with 120 - 135 km/h and step on the break for a very short time only before the next corner, drive through it fast, then break down. And in the end, when your 1st, WATCH YOUR BACK! That son of a bitch would've overtaken me again :P

nice vid man, this was a great help to get gold after many many attempts. I had TC set to 7 and ABS 2, found i could make it through with these settings.
Manged to pass for 1st just before the last corner, and like lots of others here. had to give him a gentle nudge out of the way :)

Completed it in about 10 tries, but like you I had to block the way for the no. 1 Lambo in order to finish first, although my way was a little bit more subtle :D!

took me about 5 hours- my advice the start is crucial. If you aren't past the yellow corvette by the time you leave the big turn you wont stand a chance.
Practice going through the first hairpin at around 45-50MPH the most important being exit speed.
the first turn after the hairpin should be about 80MPH going out- not a crucial turn though.
avoid breaking as much as possible on the 2nd to last turn and finally on the last turn speed is not important.Stability is.

the way to control this FR car when you are braking in high speed before take a corner is to hit brake and throttle pedal simultaneously or just play with throttle in and out while braking (i used a racing wheel).
without a full throttle, the car will skid while braking.while take a corner, gear at 2 or 3, put a mid to full throttle to avoid the car off track.this method will lead you to #4 after 1st lap.i figured out this method from legendary Aryton Senna footwork when he was driving a NSX.

Its quite crucial to be in 3rd after first lap and take the first lambo in the first major corner.
Why do i say this? the yellow lambo is quite faster than you so unless you overtake him near start its almost impossible to overtake him ever again.

The awful collision stuff does my tits in on this game, on this level it takes it to a whole new level. Cars crash into me and yet i get D/Q'd. Reallllyyyyy annoying.

I've just completed it. I only used an hour or something like that. My settings was: ASM off, TC on 5, ABS on 2 and manual. After some tries you'll get it. Good luck :)

@shedevr The best advice for the corners at the end of the lap is to try and drive as straight as possible. You need to pick a line through the corners that will make you turn the least amount as possible. Also, take them slow because if you go too fast you'll wreck due to the instability of the car.
