  • my mouth shut and open......to say i love this music.....and the Late Artist......

  • someone tell the audience to get up and skank

  • Jools Holland maybe is one of the best musician of Britain and I know music is subjective but he has to stay away from jamaican music 'cause this version is absolutely horrible. So Jools please learn the basics of ska, rocksteady & reggae and then invite these jamaican legends.Good luck!

  • @Skanksteady a lot of musicians think reggae is easy to play when it's not.

Yes this should be much better and there are plenty of reggae musicians in London that would have done a much better job at the time including DD own band at the time with Leroy Green on drums

  • @Skanksteady - this version is a bit "cheapened," huh

  • Why is he dead? WTF man.

  • @mikemc0420 Don't be so snotty. People aren't used to it now, which is a great shame.

  • big orchesta but not a rude sound!...please someone kill the piano player!!! Big up to Sir Desmond

  • The piano player is Jools Holland, it's his TV show

  • desmond rule! so much passion. pure magic.

  • As the rude boys of the late 70s would have said, Godet!!! The Dekker restores my faith in him with a great live performance. You wonder what happened with the lip-synced You Can Get It, when you see how one of the greats could perform.

  • una de las mejores canciones de desmond

  • Desmond Dekker, man

  • Ah Yes, an audience of middle class whites, and ditto for the backing band. Riding on the back of, and making money, from a fantastic black talent. Desmond Dekker died not long after this, at home in a rough, shabby area of South London.

  • Justice in the nex life brother, dema all will see. Peace

  • its a pity your words of wisdom dont live up to your name

  • I met Desmond Dekker in 1990 around the time of those 'Vitalite' adverts, had a spliff with him, sunday dinner and did the soundcheck, then when he did the gig it was awesome right uptil the point where he did 'isrealites' and he went oooooh ooooh pointed the mic at the audience and they all sang 'vitalite' :( I felt gutted for him, but I'm sure he took it in good faith
