  • who ever done this to an rx7 must have a small penis

  • might as well call it an X7

  • if only all things in life could be corvette powered :)

  • Does anyone can tell me what kind of transmission I have to use when swapping the engine of Genesis Coupe to Corvette engine?

  • Every time I read a dumb comment on the weight of a v8 and how it will throw off the weight distribution, I know that person knows nothing of the LS1 or LS series of engines. Awesome build

  • @98silver98 I agree. It is all aluminum.

  • @98silver98 true LS1 is fairly light and wont throw off the weight distribution too much in most case, but with this little rotary engine its a lil diff... nice car though, i agree

  • @98silver98

throws off the weight distribution not because of the weight, but because of the position of the weight, rotary engine weight sits a lot farther towards the center of the car. Front mid engine. dumbass

  • contrats on the build man, i dont know why so many haters (jelly that you have a bad ass rx7?) the LS1 w/ T56 is 70lbs more than the stock rx7 and with the battery being relocated to the passenger side storage bin the cars weight ratio is unaffected, and more reliable! plus its way cheaper to buy an FD roller and an LS1/T56 than it is to find a good condition FD with a low mileage well maintained 13B

  • you should be ashamed, you guy should burn that car to fuck down, you gay mother fuckers, faggot, shame on you faggots, rotor all the fucking way,

  • @skeckevo you really need to grow up.......bet you drive a ford pinto.......with a cardboard wing on it and tinfoil on the stock rims to give it more bling.....stfu

  • @ecoli023 yes thats what i drive, when your mama have her legs wide open ,i dont here her complaining,so call me daddy.ok son

  • you are truly a genius

  • I have seen a lot of great Rx-7's in my day. . . However this steaming pile of liquified horse cock being injected into a koalas asshole via enema is NOT one of them. .

    Body= Fucked

    Engine Sound= Fucked

Cutting your own cock off and beating yourself to death with it would be less painful than driving that piece of crap

  • @Antonio001z Go back to your bicycle silly troll.

  • man i bet that thing goes flying

  • Congratulations on the build, it looks like you went through hell but finally made it out. I'm also stoked that you showed videos of you autocrossing it! Usually in these types of videos the end result all you see is lame highway racing. Major props!

  • i own a RX7 series 8 in black and metalica 4 leaf clover is one my favourite songs too. what can i say, you have fucken great taste.

  • Great Story!!

  • OMG! some of you people are dumb as hell. a true racer doesn't care how he wins but as long as he wins. if you must do an engine swap then do it. to be honest it's a very smart idea all the way round. american cars are know for making power. and boy can we make it. but they can't handle worth shit. the rx7 has perfect balance within the chasis. the ls1 is perfect for it. low end power plus if your want get an ls7 and boost it for top end power. best of both worlds

  • Speedometer question....

How did you get it to work or is the sensor off the axle and not sent from the tranny?

or did you have to some how leave the rx7 cpu in there for the speed sensor.

  • i dont get why people build a cars like this, its ugly ass shit. its like putting a badass engine in a honda civic. its gonna go fast but who cares when it look like crap

  • stupid fucking americans

this video should be called my first fd rx7 ruining video. .

lazy prick decide to take the eazy route if you kept true to the rx7 name and worked on the rotor you would have had a much better car but instead you you have this disgrace that I wouldnt even label a rx7 its more like a retareded cross breed mut so how bout you do your self and rotory fans a favor put that piece of shit engine out cover it in petrol sit on it and set yourself on fire fucking loser

  • @Antonio001z Chill out. I've never seen a RX-7 thats still running properly today without serious work. Do all you Australians swear profusely over such simple matters? Jesus.

  • @Antonio001z How would stripping an entire car down replacing almost every part be the easy way out? there are a lot more fabrications needed to place an LS1 in an rx-7 than slapping a turbo in it.

  • @Antonio001z even people on the rx7club.com say that the fd or even rotary in general are a high maintenance car....so for him to take the "ez" way out and insure his car will live a good long time and be reliable ....sounds like a good idea to me

  • @carmodifire rx7 is my dream car but only with 4 rotary motors and not with a V8 motor

  • piston + Rx-7 = ugly, leave rx-7 with rotary engine ;)

  • @T3CHNOTURK ? rx7 is always, and always be, beautiful.

  • Gentlemen, the choice is in the bloke who built this car. That is why we have choice in life. I drive a Holden V8, My partner drives an Opel or a Toyota or a Subaru. Well done for the conversion. I personally want to put an R 4360 Wasp Major into a Toyota Hiace Van. Like the fella in Germany who put the radial aero engine into the Gogo Mobile. aluweld.de.

Choice is all and lets appreciate talent and choice. Yes I am a GM and OMC person but can also appreciate othe manufacturers offerings.

  • The paint job is no diff than the eye crossing fast and fury 4 and 6 banger. you did good. half of these clowns dont know what kind of labor goes into a small engine. the ls1 genIII, IV MAKE 400 440 stock with out restrictions of the pcm. get a set of L92 heads from livernois motorsports and watch how the little dick 4 banger go soft. lol

  • the car is kickass and i enjoyed the video ~ rock on

  • OF all the RX-7 conversion video's , I like this the best ! very well done. Now I would like one please .................

  • two tone fail but overall id atleast have it in my garage id be to embarrased to actualy drive cuz the paint

  • @ohyes247 i love dumb ppl....its the black parts on the red shell...no paint....has to save up for a paint job...pay attn

  • @ecoli023 i did pay attention but like you just said im to dumb to realize it

  • thank you May Chen!

  • LS1 in an FD!!!! WHOLLY SHIT!!!!!!!

Ninja assassin meets Push ROD FURY!

    congrats on the build!

  • whats the song name

  • @mcrenren gay...thats the song name

  • @BOLTONxVALLEYxRIDER wow just wow man i say you have to much time on your hand what ever make you happy chap

  • Didn't even thank Max. What a homo.

  • much respect on the swap.im putting a 2JZ in a RX7

  • ls1 engine swap is like viagra they stick it in anything

  • LS7 fd is very nice BUT 20b turbo fd is the ULTIMATE track & street fd

  • @rufusvonstorm Wrong. A 20b is less reliable, less powerful, makes less torque, gets worse gas mileage, and has lower power potential than an LS. Additionally a 20b requires moving the steering rack which ruins the handling (or moving the shifter back to your elbow). A 20b swapped FD is far inferior to an LS swapped FD in every objective way imaginable.

  • @li7in6

if your just looking for a dragster you could pick better than an fd chassis-

ls1 is going to add weight and move it higher.

people who care about going around corners fast have to think about that stuff.

  • @rufusvonstorm the ls swap adds no more than 40 lbs, just because its a v8 doesnt mean it weigh 100000 lbs

  • @rufusvonstorm... since when does adding a V8 automatically make something heavier and less responsive on a road course? No weight on the nose? understeer. Too much weight on the nose? more understeer. Its a balance game really. I bet the Ls1 improves the balance of the car. Want to go around corners fast? Learn how to drive lol. Suspension and brakes will solve the rest. Scary thought: these internet racers will one day be running the world. I feel sorry for automakers.

  • @mustangified LS1 Improves balance? Ull never get a huge LS1 tucked under were the stock rotor is...There for it wouldnt improve shit...The rotor should stay in there..Lol

  • @FC3SROTA Its still 50/50 weight balance.

  • @FC3SROTA you are a noob to ls1 rx7... stay in your shell

  • Good for you! What was the total co$t if you don't mind me asking? Also, thanks for not using a rap soundtrack.

  • Very well put together video, and the buildup was great as well. I would have liked to see more actual building though instead of just lowering the engine in and then starting it up. All the good little details were missed. Looked like a nice autox course. It's hard to find long courses that favor high HP cats. The car sounds great with open headers, very angry.

  • love the epic buildup

  • I think it has 8 too many cylinders in it.

  • great vid! +++++ for u man! it would be even better if u had put in some bolts ons.. headres blah blah etc... nice build! music perfect too!

  • why would u make it slower and heavier

  • @reefer414 check the weight ratio again, I think you are mistaken.

  • @reefer414 thats a good one.... not dumbass

  • @reefer414

    I agree

  • @IxBlueRavenxI People!!! Its called hotrodding!!!!!

I've endured 60 years of lame ass non car builders ragging on and on...............

Wonder what Garlits and Ol' Shel would have to say about this hating B.S.?

    R E S P E C T . You ain"t done it ,DON"T COME DOWN ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Car Lovers My Ass........P S -----LOVE the soundtrack

  • @reefer414

    you mean faster and lighter

  • Nice car now that the junk rotary is gone!!!!!

  • @Rotaryisgarbage You can order a kit for that. Google is a wonderful tool.

  • what did you do as far as motor mounts?

  • @kraden18 Order a kit online for that. Google it, I'm pretty sure the first to entries to pop up are legit.

  • when u mix good performance with good power it gives u something close to perfection. RX-7 fd3s with corvette engine are one of the best car.

  • the fd looks better than the vette, and the Ls1 is the better engine.

  • the red and black actually pretty cool i know its black parts on a red shell but looks like a cool custom

  • thats kinda gay ofennse

a Rx7 is meant to have a ls1 ebgine that car is a tuner not a american muscle

  • amazing sound!!!!! nothing beats a V8!

  • sick ride bro what did that cost u and why couldnt u title the black shell?

  • why couldnt you title the black shell

  • LMFAO, thats ALOT of work to then realize the shell isnt titleable...

  • Nicely done, and looks like FUN to drive around a SOLO course...

    mmm, throttle induced oversteer... GRIN

  • can anyone tell me what is Rx-7 "LS1" - "LS7"?

  • its a mazda rx-7 with a chevy v8 engine/transmission. ls1 or ls7 refers to the specific engine. the ls1 was used from 1997-2004. its a 5.7L, 346 found in camaros/ trans ams (98-02), corvettes(97-04), gtos(04), and the cadilliac cts-v. the newer ls7 is found in the z06 corvette. I currently own a LS1 rx7 that has 550 hp to the wheels, naturally aspirated without spray.

  • so, your one is type R or spirit R?

  • @MrJiet ls1 is a chevrolet motor put into camaros and corvetes. ls7 is the brand new z06 motor.

  • you should have spent the money on rotary mods dut its still badass

  • why? to simply push more boost and still have no torque? with an ls1 in the rx7 its possible to run 9's on a daily driver.

  • hey i just got a 93 fd,im thinking of doing a LS1 swap can you help me out? THANKS

  • thats beast

  • cos a v8 is way betta then a v8, v8s hav torque an hp rotary has none

  • SICK car i love it

  • Ls1 same weight as old rotary, give or take 15lbs or so. My friend did the swap and weighed the engines and ancillaries.

  • You're off by a bit, it's closer to 80-100 lbs, not 15.

  • @defakto2227 It's 60; well it depends on the LS-series engine. I used to hate the idea of such a swap, but it's not that bad ya know? Tune your car how ever you want!

  • @nonstophero0079 Yeah, I'm in the process of going boing-boing on my '85 with a SOHC 4.6 from a 93 crown vic. We've got the rebuild planned on the engine and parts planned to push, hopefully, around 500-600 at the wheels.

  • @Castilanus

Him being an idiot is your opinion, you have a right to it, but dude, the car is baller.

Fact, a 13brew making similar horsepower would get like 8mpg.

It handles the same as it did before, in fact, I'd wager the 13brew with all the turbo stuff weighs the same as, if not more than an aluminum block LS1.

Not to mention the LS1 probably gets like 25mpg, and is nicer to drive in town than a rotary.

Don't get me wrong, I love my FD. Shes making 290RWHP on stock parralel turbo's.

  • Waste of a perfectly good car

  • @driftking1308 Look, he could have imported a Series7 or 8 13B REW from Japan along with other parts so that his car's 13b didn't succumb to the problems SO many USDM Series 6's had to deal with, or gain ONLY 60-lbs for SERIOUS torque and reliability from an engine he actually understands. Seems like the "Drift king" would understand it's about getting sideways, not HOW you do so. You can tune your car HOW EVER you'd like; it's yours! Ya know?

  • @driftking1308 he didnt waste a good car he just realized that the factory rotary sucks and he needed to upgrade to some real american power. I wish all ricers would grow some balls and do this.

  • @TwoStrokePower653 look fag rx7 arent rice 2nd ricers never drive rx7 they drive civic and any other rice bitch so dont be tlkn shit to me bitch

  • @driftking1308 if your trying to scare me by cursing so much its not working. I personally like the RX7 but do not like the rotary engine. They are really annoying sounding and they make NO TORQUE. I know civics are the ultimate ricer but i was never talking shit to you, i was simply stating a point. Why dont you get the stick out of you ass and calm down a little.

  • @Castilanus You mean an all-aluminum v8 that weighs less than 50 lbs more than the stock rotary?? It aint your average 350, dumbass...

  • there's a reason why everyone wants to swap LS1 into these things, one of the best small block V8s ever made

  • I don't hate anything that can be used in a racetrack. I've raced in my friend's LS1 '88 Rx7... I myself own a RX8... sure not enough power if is stock but on the track... I am used to driving the car at higher rev and shorter gear ratios and pull through corners... the excessive torque usually give me problems since I have to limit my pedaling to a smaller amount...

All a taste.. for daily drive, if I could, I wouldn't choose the rotary... since I hardly use the 9200RPM in the engine on the st.

  • Much better than the junk rotary

  • this would have to be a drift monster... powersliding is just a tap on the pedal thx to the v8!

  • Now I know where I heard this song, The good The Bad and The Ugly :D

  • shit i would drive that. i love high revs but low end is nice too. maybe an ls7 would suffice? 505hp at the crank and not too heavy... but then again there is the legacy of rotory... hmm or... maybe eveyone should shut the fuck up and build there own self satisfying car and stop worrying about what every swinging dick thinks. you guys are ignorant.

  • God fuckin' damn, you're right.

Gotta hate it when ppl fight over something that satisfies the person who made the fucking video.... straight ignorance.

  • @C6racerJDMkiller I had a drill sergeant that said swinging dicks a lot. Other than that well said.

  • @C6racerJDMkiller there we go! its all about personal taste and what you want to do. see this is a good post

  • id much rather have a 20b, "The LS1 is like a retard on Viagra, Theyll stick it into anything", it would just keep the rx7 a rx7, not a chevy

  • The 20B is another rotor of failure and has that much more of a chance of blowing v.s. the 13B. Plus the 20B is a pig and heavier than this engine so the 20B is junk.

  • figures you would comment on this, grow up already

  • Get a clue first rotard.

  • lol this isnt blues clues kid, i think they already aired that sorry....anything and everything you say is opinion, cause i know people who has had much better storys than you, and still driveing ther rotory after 150,000miles....fact is your a fan boy

  • Well 99% of people who engine swaps want to go faster. I would take a retard on viagra that goes faster more reliably than the 20B

  • nah, any car can be reliable, thats why you build the 20b instead of just takeing one a putting it in...and learn how to drive it unlike aji8

  • awe man your back :( who cares we want it you dont we get it leave us alone and mind your own business...

  • for being 30+ you sure dont act like it, kids dont even annoy ppl as much as you, and rotorys are all opinion whether its reliable or not as i have proof they are and others do to, grow up. seriously just grow the hell up

  • Hey...keep insulting man. I know you are upset that you can't prove me wrong. Also for immaturity you better look in the mirror as you are replying to my posts moron.

  • That's what i'm saying bro. Retard or not, it's a V8 in an FD. lol

  • hey man let me know some details on the swap i have a old style carb sbc and am interested in a swap like this but my motor is putting out 526 on the dyno so i think this would be a hella fun car let me and thanks

  • fucking shut up music.

i want to hear the car! :/

  • GOD DAMN

  • Nah this is a good swap. An LS1 in such a light car is perfect.

  • rotas are weak

  • Does any1 know if a 5.2L Piston can hit 700-930hp N/A on Race Gas? If so please send me the link to the video I want to see it. No Boost, No Nitro, Stock internals. Pure American Muscle power with no funny stuff.

  • Well I enjoyed that battle. velocity211 cracked me up. Red necks and their tractor v8s!!!

  • Id like to see you take on a real rx7 with its 13b turbo! What a waste of time! Loser!

  • LOL....the 13B would lose in a heartbeat. Rotary is a junk engine..Rotard.

  • Well... I dunno if JUNK is the word :P They certainly have alot of potential, but they aren't nearly as reliable or economical as an LS1. Chevy has been making V8's for a little less than 100 years, so they've had PLENTY of time to get it right.. Rotary engines are a relatively new concept, and they function in a way that seems far more natural.. It'll just take a while for Mazda to get it right if they hang onto it for that long.

  • Keep dreaming.

  • shut the fuck up

  • Make me, rotard.

  • the name for your car should be burnt MEATBALL

  • Outstanding conversion!! I just love reading the comments from the 'purists'; just goes to show their ignorance. Performing a conversion such as this takes a lot more than bolting on a cat-back exhaust or plugging a chip in. I'll take a bet on a V8 conversion over a ricer any day of the week. This is Great job! Kudos from one who is taking on a 944/LS1 conversion

  • what a total fuck head you are now haha

get a life dude, what have you ever done to a car besides put an air in your tires and gas in your take dude?

  • Nice song! L'estasi del'oro!

  • it's not a rx7 anymore, it's a homomobile

shoulda went with a 4 rotor

  • this asshole can barely wipe his own ass, let alone tune a rotary.... cant blame him for wanting a 7 so badly, even if it meant dropping that oversized american pos into it.

"dur hurr me wantie go fast.. me need bigger piston and bigger hole for piston to be in ..me wantie bigger and bigger guh huh"

  • i own an fc... and putting an ls1 into an fd makes it no better than a lame ass vette

  • Dude...what he did with that car took alot more work than tuning a rotary. And yeah..it's a commonly known fact that a bigger engine has more potential for power than a smaller engine. Horsepower is a factor of mean effective pressure, the length of the stroke, the area of the piston, the number of power strokes per minute (a factor of RPM), and the number of cylinders. It's simply a fact that bigger engines have more potential to make more power. Sorry if that upsets you.

  • And don't say "well you can turbo or twin turbo a smaller engine and it can make equal power"...cuz it's not true. You can ALSO turbo the bigger engine and...it makes even MORE power. The phrase "there's no replacement for displacement" while not an end all statement...is based on fact. After all..you don't see any REALLY fast drag cars with less than 5 liters. And I mean like 6 second quarters and less. There's a reason ;)

  • subscribing to your logic, what makes 5L, 7L or even 14L enough? If you're gonna go big, why not go all out? What's stopping people from using locomotive 16 cylinder GM-EMD 2 stroke diesels? Why should that be enough?? Ship engines are even bigger.......

  • Because there's a point where it gets to be too big and heavy and ridiculous to use on street driven vehicles. And smaller engines are also more fuel efficient. Subscribing to YOUR logic...why don't you see a 2.2 liter engine on a ship cargo ship :P?....the answer is obvious. They can't make enough power. Also...It's not MY logic. It's just logic. What I said makes perfect sense.

  • well, you can't just slap a big turbo on an ls1 or a big n/a engine like you can with a skyline or supra etc. the compression ratio is too high to use much boost without blowing it up, and the internals aren't strong enough to handle boost. the engines designed for boost can. but youre right when honda ppl talk about how their 1.8 NA engine can keep up with a lsx with a turbo.

  • Well yeah that's true in stock form. Some of those smaller engines that you just mentioned are built with a strong bottom end for just that purpose. But you CAN build a big v8 with a strong bottom end too. In stock form you're right. My only point was that the POTENTIAL is higher on a bigger engine. You can always just buy stronger bottom end parts for your big engine and boost away. I don't want anybody to misunderstand. Small engines are awesome. I'm just saying big engines have more potential

  • Ls1's are more than capable of handling a turbo. the engine block will hold up to 1000 HP easy

  • no, it has a 10:1 compression ratio. the block will hold 1000hp, but the rods, the crank, won't handle it. you can never get the a/f ratio right with that high of a compression ratio, etc

  • Hate to break it to you but they also make turbo kits for LS1s As well as superchargers that are completely bolt on kits. An LS6 is literally nothing more than a built up LS1, same block came design.

  • hate to break it to you, but those kits run 10 psi or less, hardly the same as a turbo in a supra running 30 psi. i know an ls6 is the same block, different intake, etc. it's not ready to run any real turbos either without being rebuilt.

  • Actually you can, with proper intercooling and some spark plug retardation you can stave off detonation. There are many bolt on kits for superchargers and at least one turbo kit I know of.

  • there is no 30-40 psi superchargers or turbos for a stock ls1, the compression ratio is far too high

  • rotarys are okay, but nothing beats the sound of a v-8 dude. cmon chicks wanna hear and get in a car that gets em wet with that deep grumble, not a car that sounds like someone plucking a rubber band thats fully streched out.

  • fuk off dik!! nice brut brut of tha rotary make a gurl soooo much wetter than pathetic v8head in a car MADE WITH a rotory!!!!

  • Okay there Susan what ever you say.

  • Who the fuck is susan? Watever she did to to you in high school has shit to do with me fuck head! dry as a bone huh? get a rotary and it woulda been different!!

  • lol ok there susan, just cant let it go, did i hurt your little feelings, hey everybody heres a guy who wishes he'd have bought a v8, probably sour because some rustang beat down on him.

  • My buddy did one of these builds. He had a single fart can on the back. Sounded like a V8 while idling, but on the highway is sounded like some fucking rice burner. But it WASN'T

  • no way hes running a v8 with single exhaust...

I had to run open heads till i got "3 duel exhaust on a 6.0L v8.

  • You can run a v8 on a single exhaust, it won't be good however. The back pressure will rob you of power but it will work all the same.

  • zeroyon223 dont be mad cause ur swap didnt work

this is atruly kick ass ride

  • nice swap ..i read your 3 page website(yeah all of it!) but why swap all the parts from the black car to the red shell.....

why not just the vin in the dash and firewall to the black car(seems easier)

  • no way could he figure that one out

  • Hi. Why do people put SBC's in to RX7's? Sure a rotary has its short comings with ecomomy, reliability etc, but wouldnt transplanting a heavier engine that carries its weight higher up upset the handling of these cars, which was really its strong point in my opinion?

  • once you remove and replace the motor, install kit etc. the gain is minimal. my brother has a ls1 fd and while there is a slight difference in how fast it can change direction the weight was still 50 front 50 back with a 1/2 a tank or so. they are a beast from hell. im seriously considering selling my supra and doing one of these builds.

  • Oh true, alloy block aye? Something different, i like it.

  • the car is fantastic for drifting. its effortless to break traction and get it sideways.
