I JUST ADOPTED A NEGLECTED PUG puppy. THey caused her to get BLIND.  I need advise. I will appreciate comments!!!!

I don't skip a day hugging and talking to my pets, even if I am tired. They leave us so soon that I don't waste time.

@hundimzug I had a dog, Ballie, who lived 16 years. She went blind and deaf two years before she died, and she became like...proud, you know, a little bit aloof but proud...she used to walk around to recognize the furniture and things around and wagged her tail when she realized we were close. Finally she had a stroke and lost her balance, and we decided to put her down. She was so brave. I hope to see her again in Heaven.

our pug SOLARA was hit by tricycle 3 days ago and her right eye popped out and i had to push it back in and rush her to the vet...good thing it still got back and she's doing okay now... else she'd be just like Moses but we'd still love her. 2 Thumbs up for you for taking care & loving him.

@PerplexityStudios Yes, it's sad but Moses did pass away. The good thing is that he had an awesome life thanks to his wonderful parents. Moses sailed around the world for months on end. You can see photos of him on my website. I'm friends with his parents. They miss him alot.

Moses was a cool dog. I remember frequently seeing him sitting on his stool at Thom's Market. He loved to greet people and beg for treats.

this dog went through so much and yet he still has a positive outlook wich is heartwarming :) i just love to see a dog that gives love no matter what because some dogs are treated horribly and turn out to be mean because of the way they were treated and good luck on your dog :)

@xXTheDarkLemonXx Oh no! So sorry to hear about your dog. Doctors/Vets are getting really good at this stuff. Dogs can do fine with one eye. In fact, I just photographed a one eyed dog for a rescue calendar today!

@tim3058 I didn't take his eyes out, but his owners did. He had a bad accident, one eye came out and the other got so infected that they had to remove it. So he just had two empty sockets where his eyes were.

@Jayjayweee Thank you for the kinds comments. Moses was totally cool. In fact, he sailed around the world. I have photos on my website of Moses on the sailboat. His owner wanted to do a children's book about him after he lost his eyes. Moses has since passed away, but I'm hoping there still might be a book in the future.

I have a black eyeless pug, Chloe. She came to us with one eye, but eventually the good one ruptured and had to be removed. She 's got the best attitude. She goes up and down steps, out the doggy door, walks on a leash with four other dogs, jumps up and off furniture and even licks the dirty dishes in the dishwasher! She's amazing. Because of her I've adopted two other blind pugs. People don't even know they are blind until I tell them (or they run into a wall- which happens sometimes)

@TheKeronForces I totally agree. Love those wrinkles, though sometimes I feel bad that many of them have breathing issues due to the breed. They are definitely playful dogs though. I have only know two pugs, Moses and Elvis, both very sweet.

@iEaturChildren I thought it was horrifiying at first as well, but then after I got to know the dog I saw that he was okay. He had adjusted to his loss of sight. And since his parents took such great care of him, he felt safe and loved. He begged for treats and acted like other dogs in every other way. He was a very, very sweet boy.

@maksphoto78 His owner told me that he got really good at getting around the house. They helped him alot at first and spent lots of time with him. She said he was terribly depressed when he first got home from the hospital without any sight. It took him a while to come out of his shell and become happy again.

my pug Frank who is a year old only had one eye when i got him 2 months ago because of neglect from previous owner,he got a ulcer in his eye a week after i had him. he has had alot of treatment to help this ulcer as it was removing the layers of his eye and the other day we had no choice but to have his eye removed. so he looks just like moses, I also have a another dog named Barry who is a pug cross yorkshire terrior who is now his eyes.

I too have a pug and they are infamous for having eye problems. We have to be very careful with him because their eyes could get scratched or hurt and they could lose either one or both of them.

thats the one thing about pug is the eye's i hate it when my pug scraches his eye long time to heel and time consuming eye drops one every 8 hours and one once every day . I always tell him watch your eye and move him away from the object that can hurt his eye eventually he will learn to be self aware of his eyes and what can hurt them.
