These are brilliant, I bought one at a local show recently. Simple and easy to clean unlike conventional garlic presses. It produces a puree rather than tiny, compressed chunks. I suppose you could blend garlic and ginger, and it does do ginger beautifully unlike any of the other things I've tried. Christmas presents sorted!
