Of course Rondo deserves a clinic video. Magic Johnson called him one of the best passing PG's in the league. What makes a player great is not how they play individually, its how they fit into a team. What makes Boston such a good team, is that Rondo does the job (excellently) that he has to do. Also the argument that he can't hit a jumpshot is fucking stupid. Even if he scored them, it wouldn't be helping his team, or using his full potential. Also, he can hit shots, he just rarely takes them.

@Edis020 Rondo plays in one of the best defenses in the League. Doesn't mean he's got great defense. All he needs to do is funnel a player left or right into KG or their Center. Celtic's defense works as an entire unit, not based on one person. You can't say Rondo has great defense, he's only a small part of the entire thing. You could put Delonte West and he'll do the same or better.

Dont underestimated Rondo. He is still young and has a lots of potential. You might remember Jason Kidd. He didnt shoot as well as he does now. He improved that part of his game. Rondon will do so, too. And in about three more years, if he doesnt suffer any major injuries, he will probably be a five time allstar and people will not question his status as an elite PG.

i know what he does for the celts. He's a great playmaker, probably the best. He sets Pierce, Allen, & KG up with good looks at the basket. He can take it to the rim at times. But he's no superstar. He doesn't make enough of an impact on offense, he's too shitty of a shooter for a PG and sometimes he's too passive & gives up easy layups and passes back for an assist (sometimes the person he passes to misses). He a good ball thief but he's not that good of a man defender.

No matter how good defensively you are, if you can't make buckets or consistently find a way to hit shots then you can't be called a superstar. Rondo's strength is passing. So yea he's an excellent floor general but he needs capable scorers around him to be effective. He doesn't make enough of an impact on his own to be considered a threat, he makes an impact by running the break and dishing off to teammates.

Can't play close cuz he'll either drive or dish, can't play off because he can light you up. Pick your poison. There are no Defensive oriented players (non centers) that are superstars

But having those stats with the Boston Celtics is not an achievement, it only makes it worse actually since having Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett makes getting assists a whole damn lot easier.

Again though the "superstar" thing is opinion, since I only feel like 5~10 people are superstars.
