shadow man 2 ref in this episode and a episode later in the let's play: pause at 7:38 its saids i do not normally pursue no demon spore ( asmodeus ) because dispite the game takes place in 1999 couple years pior to shadow man 1 in 1976 thomas deacon and his partner gabe find the codex then his partner gets killed by one of his ( asmodeus ) foot soldiers after the events of shadow man 1 happen mike stays in deadside for 3 years till 2002

Acclaim were the studio that also made all of the Turok games for the N64, which were FPS games which were good in some ways are hilariously flawed in other ways. While I am fairly sure that the setting or the content of this game didn't endear to to people, this is one of the few "Gather lots of X" games for the N64 that managed to differentiate itself from others. Turok and Turok 2 also attempted the same thing with only marginal success.

@benjie414 No it doesn't. Candyman is an antagonist while Mike aka Shadow Man is a protagonist. Plus, candyman is a killer ghost while this voodoo anti-hero is a traveler in the living world and deadside.

The story of this game works hard to make up for the poor controls. At least the N64 version had poor controls.

No shit N64 does have poor controls even though it has a higher score, even the PS1/PSX and Dreamcast has poor controllers. Funny fact is that the PC has the lower score when it has way better controls, good details, frame rate, and decent quality which does make up for it also. Even if PC do have a lower score it is best played on Windows Vista, 2000, XP, and 7 since this game is so damn oldskool it can handle the shit.

@trainhoboVEGAS you can reconfigure the dreamcast controls and make them awesome. I set the weapons to L and R triggers and jump to A etc. much better. N64 one had crappy graphics but i actually liked the control scheme

This gets explained later, but the teddy bear is a spiritual conduit kinda thing that allows him to transport his essence between the world of the living and deadside. The Shadow Gun is his primary weapon.

Good thing about your let's play is that you do use text comments versus just playing the game.

Although it would give your LPs more character with vocal narration. Text just seems to flash on the screen and can be easily missed.

Love the line in the game, "For we are many, amen to that."

This is the PC version... I don't believe there was a PS2 version.  Aside from the graphics, the only difference is what was behind the level 10 door.
