2) Yes I did use Keylight, very heavily in fact. I think the key to making it look good is taking advantage of all the colour correction options within Keylight, such as the foreground color correction and edge color correction. Once I started messing around those settings thats when I found it really went to the next level. Also I used a lot of curves and levels and such on the keyed footage as well.
Man I'm about to finish an Art BA at Ohio State.. it's been pretty boring but they don't offer anything in Video Post production at the graduate level - I guess alot of places don't unless you can shell out big $ - but It's pretty encouraging to know you were self taught to do work like this - You should put your demo out and start getting paid for this seriously!
@joos7 Well I actually recently got hired by a local production company as an editor. It's my first real 'job' in the industry other than freelancing. It's tough.
The things I find hard are the things you probably wouldn't even learn in school, such as how to deal with your boss, co-workers, and clients. The actual 'work' is the easy part!
@joos7 Actually I think that Art BA will do you a lot of good. The fundamentals of art and design apply to every visual medium, and it's the basic stuff like that people most often get wrong I find.
