  • Ah trop cool !!!! =D

  • thumbs up if you like the movie, but to much bad words

  • @ballstothechin99 what do you mean bad words? :o

  • this movie is epic

  • James Cameron the excellent film and the idea for his realization, the wonderful work is playing actors. is congratulating. Greet U!

  • no matter how many times this movie comes on IVE GOT TO WATCH IT

  • whore hay rebus?

  • HE'S A GENIUS I LOVE THIS MOVIE

  • caesar>navis

  • rise of planet of apes is much better in motion effects

  • I don't think makeup would have done it as cameron said, but not because makeup is bad, but the anatomy of the navi probably would have made doing it with makeup impossible. especially with the eyes and the lankiness. Makeup is always more believable i.e. the orcs in LOTR but there's just some things it can't do.

  • That actress looks alot like Jadda Pinket Smith

  • cool tech but still $500.000.000 is not really worth it !!

  • They actually had horses in there! xD This is pretty cool. Didn't they do the same stuff with Mars Needs Moms?

  • What a jerk Cameron is. Make-up would have looked "stupid" and "boring"? This man worked with the late great Stan Winston, the man who created the Xenomorphs for Aliens, and the make-up for Terminator 1 and 2. Don't dis Make-up, Cameron.

  • @MrJaffa2015 I also like make up a bit more... Hellboy looks amazing!! For me is one of the best and beautifully created characters.

  • @MrJaffa2015 Yeah thing is he just got sloppy so his mind isn't right anymore. Make up would of probably made this movie more intresting and more beleivable like Terminator 1 was.

  • Sam Worthington wore the ridiculous Na'vi Motion Capture suit, yet he objected to Bubo's cameo in Clash of the Titans. Nobody puts Bubo in a corner!!

  • James Cameron give me a job damit, lol

  • I wish the world would release less films, but spend more time and put in more effort into making them. They release so much crap all the time, but if directors spent time perfecting movies like James Cameron did over years, films would be worth the money.

  • amazing special effects, luckluster bland film

  • Wouldn't be the same film if it was done with make-up...

  • Very nice movie.

  • This is the most amazing movie ever made i would love to do this.

  • they definatley got sigorni weavers smile right!

  • how about the part that they made love? xD

  • I havent seen the movei avatar . cause to be honest it didnt interest me..i just felt like it was CGI movie like they have in Video games so i was like .."eh ive seen it before" soo boriiiiinggg...

  • @Lossantoscj210 homestly its not mate, very good film. but i guess its what sort of taste you have in movies. if you dont like that sort of thing, then your not going ot watch it :)

  • @Lossantoscj210 its not about the CGI is about the story as is in cretin video games the story is what is important. CGI is used to make that story at a more reasonable cost. Yes i agree tons of movies over use CGI and turn it into BS.

But for the story of Avatar the CGI was needed. Check out "Beowulf" its a CGI movie but does not look like it. When its done properly CGI is a medium used to tell story's along side live action and animation.

  • @Lossantoscj210 P.S whether you like a cretin story told threw CGI or not its not the CGI thats boring its the story being told.

  • awesome animation, but didn't cross the uncanny valley

  • @lukecurtismusic You sir, are one of THOSE people, aren't you?

  • it was good till the last 3 seconds

  • Comment removed

  • @pratap5233 That has been done allready been done.

  • @pratap5233 or bush, Obama would be cool too though

  • @pratap5233 Try FaceBook. There's an app for that!

  • @lukeskywalker7878

you do know that english may not be his first language so just lay off.

  • @jackcockela me too!!!

  • I love avatar

  • now that i think about it.. being an actor is much more difficult than it seems, cuz you have to fake some emotions and be really enthusiastic. You just can't be shy or have shame at all..

  • Well, they achieved the visuals they had in mind, good job for that. Well of course it doesn't look real - but why even bother? FF7 AC or Ice Age didn't have to look realistic to be awesome. CGI just isn't that amazing and appreciable anymore, ever since LotR back in 2001. Viewers want substance, which Avatar,Transformers and many others lack. Something truly NEW and special. Go watch 'Firefly' or 'Pushing Daisies' or something...

  • the best movie ever made, would watch this movie over and over and over,

  • That was to cool ,and btw Zoe was a perfect pick for the cast

  • besides the technology there's nothing really great about this movie. even the story is just a crappy indians and cowboys routine.

  • I would say this movie came second in my collection :)

First place for best looking films for me was District 9

    Second place Avatar

    Third place The Hurt Locker

  • this is one of the all time great movies i can't wait till the second and third ones come out it will be a blast god bless you james cameron for making a relly great movie

  • #1 movie in the world

  • avatar, die hard 4 and step brothers are the best movies ever made :)

  • @AntonR1997 step brothers ftw

  • @AntonR1997 boats n hoes

  • Ahh, ok.

Now i get it, looking at mocaped cgi blue cat giants running around in a rainforest and use their hair to have sex doesnt look stupid!!!! Cameron is such a smug retard. Miss the days he was directing terminator, aliens, true lies and stuff, those where his good days.

But, i gotta give credits to WETA. The CGI really is incredible. The only thing that was good about this POS movie IMO.

  • the best movie <3

  • hey Spielberg take lessons from this guy

  • @d3f4c3d james cameron will never be good enough to be compared with Steven Spielberg... EVER!

  • @lukeskywalker7878 hahahaha Cameron's gross worldwide with $2,782,275,172 in 2 years with this movie - $760 millions only domestic USA... taming all the critics along the way... including hardcore cynic like myself :)

on another note ahem not a single spielberg movie ever reached $500mil mark by the way... based on your username I really hope you don't think spielberg did Star Wars do you... Please say no...

  • @d3f4c3d Lol I know Spielberg didn't make Star Wars. I just believe that it doesn't matter how much money one makes from a film, but how great the quality of the film is. I'm not saying Avatar was terrible, but Cameron tells a story that has already been told before and, based on the movie, he just changed the visual aspect of the story and not the general storyline. I know Spielberg retold stories like War of the Worlds (which was not his greatest), but I think he retold it in a tasteful way :)

  • @lukeskywalker7878 wait, which story was already been told before ?

Be honest to yourself - that's not your words, you repeating Matt Batman's hoax that claims script that was stolen from pocahontas ? Why not stolen from Romeo&Juliet - - also tragic love story with different background families etc...

It's a shame hoax followers have zero of their own opinions this days... apparently you are not exception if you take everything posted on gawker or reddit for truth.

  • @d3f4c3d Um what? those are my words. I honestly have no idea what your talking about your grammar was pretty bad. Are we still talking about Spielberg and Cameron?

  • @lukeskywalker7878 hmm bad grammar? well It seems to me this conversation clearly exceeding your comprehension then. You've successfully derailed conversation, ignored to elaborate on your borrowed idea about "story that has already been told".

To make things worse your original statement read as nothing but simply childish and full of young maximal-ism verbal diarrhea with no solid prove behind it... Perhaps your age is your limit and you not ready for proper factual debate.

  • @d3f4c3d All your errors are as followed:

"Be honest to yourself..." correction: "Be honest WITH yourself"

it's Matt Bateman not "Matt Batman"

"...that claims script that was stolen..." correction: "...WHICH claims THAT THE script was stolen..."

"...own opinions this days..." correction: "...their own opinion's THESE days"

"...you are not exception..." correction: "...you are not AN exception..."

"...conversation clearly exceeding your..." correction: "...conversation clear EXCEEDS your...

  • @d3f4c3d Continued:

"You've successfully derailed conversation,..." correction: "You've successfully derailed THIS conversation..."

"...with no solid prove..." correction: "...with no solid PROOF..."

"...and you not ready for proper factual debate..." correction: "...and you ARE not ready for A proper factual debate..."

When you learn how to speak correctly then I might actually listen to a word your saying. Thank you for wasting my time. This conversation is over.

  • @lukeskywalker7878 in your arrogant attempt you tried using prejudice to change focus on irrelevant grammar only to prove again that you nothing but clueless tool with no self-conscious or personal opinion )) my grammar may be bad but i guarantee you will NEVER in your lifetime be able to study 3 other languages like me ;) Ask the Force to bring you some personality and originality - there are too many of mindless drones like you on youtube repeating other hoaxes.

  • @d3f4c3d I like how stupid you are cause the movie is amazing :)

  • I thought this was a great movie.

  • THE NARRATOR IS KERMIT!!

  • 110%? Must be filmed in Russia...

  • Avatars CGI isn't that great, siigh... another formerly great movie director who's taking the easy way out. Sure, this movie has some depth but c'mon. It's overrated, Avatar or Terminator 2? As if that's even a contest.

  • @Apmongoman you haven't seen it in theaters imax 3d, have you? :P

  • @Apmongoman

Do you think Beowulf did the CGI better or Transformers?

  • The best animation i see ever!!!

  • I cant Wait to see the Avatar Theme Park there building in Magic Kingdom

  • owen

  • nice

  • I loved how they jumped right across the Uncanny Valley =D

  • An astounding amount of research went into creating Avatar ,Emotions are what make us human , its one thing to make a documentery telling about a problem be it enviromental, or human rights issue, the usual result "We all heard this before why should I care" Avatar does not try and "teach" what we allready know , It shows by example and evokes an emotional responce .The story "under" the fantasy shell is based in connections to many very real world issues we all see on the news everyday.

  • For the haters, I don't get it! Was the best film of its kind. Period! Why nit pick? Think you could do better? I wait oh so patiently for the second and third, which will most likely be just as awesome! God bless you Cameron! Keep us coming back for more!

  • @mistawow1 "Think you could do better?"...Bro we don't have millions to spend and hundreds of people working on it

  • PLEASE READ THE MESSAGE IN MY PROFILE...

  • 100% unreal, too computerized. in real life the skin is not so bright

  • @ramoncotadjfull

    :notsure:

Not sure if trolling.. Or really stupid.

  • @halofanteam none of the 2, you should leave your pc a bit, and note that in reality things are more opaque. not if you're impressionable, or cameron will pay to defend them.

  • @ramoncotadjfull I dont really want to join the "stupid troll" argument here but, in all movies people tend to look beautiful/shiny even though they are not outside the movie.

I get what you're saying but look at other movies aswell.

  • @ramoncotadjfull fucking stupid troll

  • 100 % irreal, demasiado computarizado. en la vida real la piel no brilla tanto

  • I can't really see why people hate this movie, yes the story has been done before but hell, what story hasn't? It's like I've been told by my ETec teacher "Nothing is completely original". I thought the story was cool, the actors were great, the CG was breathe taking, and for what it's worth this movie managed to move me emotionally.

  • @AshXXMayftw

So what if borrowed from A Man Called Horse, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in The Sky, Heavy Metal, Last of the Mohicans, Dune, Lawrence of Arabia, Willow, Fantastic Planet, Gandahar (aka Lightyears) and Princess Mononoke at times, it worked.

  • @Johnlindsey289 It's as my ETEC teacher said, everything has been done. They have no choice but to recycle ideas.

  • @AshXXMayftw

Cameron even borrowed from Star Wars as much as Lucas borrowed from sources like Dune by Frank Herbert, Flash Gordon serials, 2001, 50's Sci-fi comics and Akira Kurasowa films

  • @Johnlindsey289 Exactly and I bet most people didn't even know one of the famous scifi movie series borrowed so much

  • @AshXXMayftw Inception is a movie that was never done before haha

  • @InsanityOnABunFilms Oh but you are wrong my friend, before Inception there was a little movie called Paprika where agents go inside peoples dreams just like in Inception.

  • @AshXXMayftw I also would rather see THIS story redone then the "Get Revenge" one that's been done to death...and badly..

  • @AshXXMayftw honestly. . .. It was just to long compared to actual information shown-. Most of the time spend during the movie was to showcase the cgi- So you would get long scenes with trees and weird creatures- 1;30h was acting and storytelling and 1 hour was pure cgi showcase. That for me is a weak movie.- But all opinions-

  • @AshXXMayftw Agree with almost everything, except that the actors were great. The cast could have been much better, except for Zoe Saldana.

  • @AshXXMayftw people hate this movie because it is nothing but a rollercoaster. Then they hate it even more because it's a rollercoaster with awesome sets and decorations. They'd love to have something actually valuable with such rad visuals, but no, it is just an entertaining video clip (long). Remember - shiny things get dimmer over time. So we will wait and see if someone will ever recall a movie named Avatar in the future. (I'm sure they'll recall Terminator/Alien/Thing though)

  • Man, there is so much more to making a good film such as this than what I knew before. The effort was well worth it.

  • CAMERON RULES SHOULD BE LISTENED TO MORE

  • great fucking movie

  • This is definitely the only best film ever released. I have so much respect fir this movie. This is what you call a movie.

  • @nafeezis1 Avatar is a great movie *but it is based on the fight between the yankees and the indians, we all know how it ended then.* (You realise that humanity could just drop nukes on Pandora out of pure vengeance, don't you? Because yes, politicians and the military can go that far.)

I also very much liked the Godfather, but it's too complex of a movie to explain why In a short comment.

  • Bro asked me to watch it last night, I'm glad he did. Very good movie imo. :)

  • I.NEED.AVATAR.LAND.NOW!

  • Their making a second and third one everyone!

  • @heyureadmycomment i already thought that because how 1st one end when he was transported into the avatar

  • @heyureadmycomment But when will it be ouuuut?

  • @heyureadmycomment IT'S TRUE

  • @heyureadmycomment they're making a second and third one :)

  • @heyureadmycomment

and how do you even know this if they are

  • @heyureadmycomment how do you now that?

  • @reviews2k11 because it was MTV news. One of the actors talked about it. James Cameron(badass) is going to make it under water or something

  • @reviews2k11

    cause they said so...duh

  • Kinect should get this facial mocap tech and use it so all of us can do our own CG movies using nothing but an Xbox Kinct system, Maya and game engines like Cryengine. I cannot be the only one thinking this....

  • will it be avatar 2? someone knows?

  • @HalBDeU Yes it will. James Cameron announced that he will make a trilogy and began to work on the script. He plans to film both Avatar sequels concurrently. He presumes that Avatar 2 will be released in 2014 and Avatar 3 for 2015. For more info search on IMDB

  • @MrRomiq thanks for the information man!! now wait to 2014 ^^

  • @HalBDeU you welcome man ;)

  • makes me wonder how they did the loves scene ;)

  • huh. no way. People are just.. pftt... I mean this is amazing! Why can't they appreciate this? :|

  • It still looks cgi I've seen better looking graphics

  • @miloesalazar Where? give me link bro

  • Wow...I have been enchanted by the film ever since I saw it for the first time in the theatre and I must say that it is just mind blowing how real the Na'vi appear. It blew me away! Thank you James Cameron for making the movie experience more than just a movie..it was an experience.

  • Final Fantasy 13 had those graphics lol

  • Zoe is the bomb, i saw her face on a magazine and i begged my mom to get it

  • zoe saldana is so beautiful

  • the most beautifully innovative thing i have ever seen. i can't wait to see this method of motion capture applied to video games. imagine if a user were able to see himself in real-time as a virtual reality generated character. amazing work james cameron

  • @codeninja100

If rumors are right, similar methods were used in production of Far Cry 3 and probably Battlefield 3.

  • amazing!!!!

    Computer Science 10 - Lecture 2: 3D Graphics

  • Oh Mr. Cameron, how do you plan to make avatar a trilogy??

  • someday in the future we may not even need real actors at all. just sayin

  • @aldernagon3 I don't think films would be all that intriguing without real human actors..

  • @acjub

    maybe, maybe not

  • @aldernagon3 - how do you figure? you'd still need someone acting into a camera to get that realism that their talking about. XD - I don't care how good computers get, they'll never be able to replace human emotion, and if we reach a point where they can, it won't matter anyways, cause we'll be living the terminator series, and we saw how well that turned out...

  • @777fallenangel77

exactly, machines will eventually take over everything we do, there will be a time where humans may be regarded as obsolete. scary thought but potentially true

  • @aldernagon3 Is that really a bad thing though? Some people love their pets as if they were their children--it doesn't matter that they aren't human. If something is more advanced than us in *every* way we shouldn't be sad that they become the dominant species--unless you believe humans have a soul or something else that's immaterial.

  • @bp56789

well a pet is a living thing. I'm talking about machines

  • how i'm a student on autodesk and ive done this stuff but not like that i dont now how they find how to this stuff im going to try and put a video response or sumthing i might even make a movie im getting so good

  • this tech seems to be similar to the one used in LA Noire.

  • i dont like avatar. its just wierd

  • The perfect emotionally directed movie

  • god that movie sucked

  • Best movie? Wonderful work? This movie was meant to be a thing that you never saw before. But, if it hadn't been for the amazing special effects and the name "James Cameron", this would be just a mediocre love story embedded in a mediocre plot, which has been seen already. I don't understand the hype about this film...

  • WONDERFUL work, favourite movie!!!!!!

  • Man is it me or is the na vi chick hot as hell,

  • Hmm, a movie about anti-technology, made using the best technology available on Earth...

  • @somethinglacking1 That's so true.

  • @sandy57040 Jurassic Park and King Kong looked real. There are some things that do look real and that is some of the shots they used in JP 3 that they couldn't do with animatronics.
