@noybrw He's not horrible, he just doesn't have a voice that's powerful enough. And that's just perfect for a band like that, if he was an amazing vocalist, ALL the focus from fans would be on him only. Trust me, I have a band, I know :)
to those who are saying that the vocalist is not good enough, try listening to more soft, indie, prog. & psychedelic rock, this tune perfectly fits that genre ... we should give them credit for not sounding like any other Egyptian rock band or any of the mainstream artists.
watching this w/ my american friends they r taken aback by how much apparently some of us want 2b them! The issue of oudit el khawaga is being discussed at universities accross the nation lets love ourselves our colors our music our dances our ideals and our ethics we have since the reign of the Arab empires mixed it up with the world givin & sharing we should continue such w/o losing site of who we r. Leh ya nas matkhalo homsh homa el yi alidouna ehna? leh homa nifsohoum feena
I totally agree with u saying that we should love our selves and our music and dances... However, that doesn't mean we shouldn't embrace the western music... In fact, I find it amazing if we mix both music, instead of the drums, tabla baladi :D... That was a joke, however, if you find prbs with Egyptians doing western music, listen to the band Redeemers...They have wonderful music... I'm a huge fan of metal music, yet, I enjoy listening to Abdel Halim and Om Kolthoum...It's who we are, global :D
this sounds like they stole a western song and put arabic words to it. I agree the lead isnt strong they ok just ok not any better than a regular band on open mike nite. Also to the individual who said bravo arabs need new ideas. I have no idea what you are talking about majority of ideas that count in civil society today can thank the arab world! second why cant we be like other cultures whom embrace their style modenizing doesnt mean compromising your identity ever.
I saw this song about a year ago on Much Music Arabia and fell in love with it! This is a relatively new genre in Arabic music and it's great, I love it! Keep up the great work!
the song is pretty cool... especially the lyrics...and the comments on the PICs.. they are really funny and genuine... it is the first time for me to listen to this band and it won't be the last :D... and i hope that they continue this new rockin EGYPTIAN style...
helwa kiteer, all Egypt needs is rock n' roll, I mean come on, America started with bubble gum rock and in ten years we had led zeppelin. These guys should be getting USAID since they'll do more to modernize egyptian society than ten libraries.
i agree with salt and pepper the band is weak as well as the song , they are just trying to copy they didn't bring anything new to the table , look up eftekasat and nagham masry and see what they've done , in the end its a matter of tastes i don't care if u like em or not , just say YOU like the song ,don't start going about how GREAT they are,u like it its your opinion just don't give us headaches, and they are bad and overrated a matter of fact,u guys need to search for better underrated bands
the vocal is kinda key in a song! As a group the vocal is so bad, that I didn't take the time to check out what they are saying. They sound like their voices haven't broken yet. They really shouldn't have picked the name Cairokee coz you know they sound Careokee.
The whole Egyptian band scene trying to look as western as possible is so retarded and shows a real lack of imagination. Really shouldn't have got me started on this vid!

this genre of music needs a vocalist like this
God, it's not a 3bdel7alim 7afez song.
btw, the lyrics of the song are not good enough
they have a lot of songs with better lyrics than this

Why not ask? I have read several comment of Non-Egyptians that like the song. I'm not Egyptian and I like the song and I'm trying to get the CD.
That's a silly mentality to ask Non-Egyptian ask about the song.
