If I had had an Atari 2600 and this game as a kid, watching this would be super-nostalgic, no doubt. But we had a C64 and I can't help but compare this with how the game looked like on C64. The Commodore version looked much better. This looks really basic.

The flicker occurs on the TV too, it is not the monitor. I used to play this hours on end until the neighbor complained about the intro sound and worlock/wizard battles.

Wizard Of Wor is easily one of the best 2600 ports. One of the best games to take advantage of simultaneous 2-player action. All the CBS titles for the 2600 are pretty damn good since they used advanced bankswitching techniques to squeeze the most they could out of the system.

I used to play this when I was really young but I don't remember playing it at all. I told my dad I got the old atari working and he said "do you have that wizard game?" and now I'm gonna have to try this one out again. :D I love these games.

Yeah, I wasn't even a C64 owner but just from looking at YouTube clips -- the C64 port of this game was great. Everything but the voice synthesis.

If I remember right, there was a VERY rare voice synthesis expansion for the C64 that added in voice samples for it and Q*Bert.

I wonder why he didn't just emulate the game. It looks like he tapped the game with a VHS recorder on a Cathode TV, which if he did: that's oldschool AWESOME although I prefer emulation because it looks more clear on the screen. Oh and the game tracks were really cool, especially when the boss appeared.

I saw both this and Tunnel Runner in my local game store's Atari section, and while they both interest me, I could get 10-20 common Atari games for the same price as the pair, so I went with that option. I kind of doubt they'll be in high demand though, so I might pick them up at some point.
