  • deadly punches man!

  • mate just gotta say thanks for all these, picked up muay thai a couple years ago, playing rugby and american football at uni, nice to get a good boxing workout in there to help out form too. Cheers

  • thats awesom. slo mo is a much better way to explain a punch or set up or combo or what ever rather than saying "the power starts here, you rotate here then you do what ever" (aka the normal way). u got some good info sir. i like to hit lower on the bag because its more solid, is that a good thing?

  • @Frogalooninator haha agreed

  • my first boxing lesson was with a heavy bag, throwing jabs with my off hand the whole time. I got a bad ass jab, and it's because of that. Step in with your off foot(forward foot) and put your weight into that jab. Start slow, always bring your glove back to start position. Increase speed as you go. Don't forget to step, and when you get into throwing those hooks, your back leg is where that power comes from. Concentrate.

  • u push the bag when u punch thats y it moves alot

  • @TheJavi94 thts y

  • you should control the bag, dont let the bag control you!

  • i'm trying to critisise you, but constructlively. just when you jab, to stop the bag swinging, try to make it more of a snap, and impact about an inch and then return back to the basic stance. but other than that awsome technique and style. i subbed

  • i have a 80lbs bag with a heavy bag stand, but it shifts whenever i throw heavy punches. any suggestions?

  • how heavy is that bag

  • keep your back foot planted on the cross mate see if it helps

  • do you still fight?

  • What's the name of this song????????????

  • What's the name of this song????????????

  • when you use the jab or the right cross

    YOU MUST protect your face...

    It's basilary on boxing

  • You gotta be fuck in kidding !!!!

  • are there reasons for me not to subscribe?

  • Dude thanks alot: im a 13 year old who has an interest in boxing. Also the kind of school i go to you have to be able to defend yourself. And i didnt have that until now. Thanks man your a life saver!!!!! -KEEP UP THE MAGNIFICENT WORK!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SinkorSwim1000 why ? u only wanna kick my ass lol My names Antony J Redern.

My granddad. was actualy local champ of sandwell (my area). He was in the betting office other day putting a dog bet on, hes 81 and some young kid (23) pushed passed him to get infrout of him for there bet on a football game and He headbutt this kid out cold on the floor, He spit he's head open but he just laughed xD

  • @SinkorSwim1000 great, all i got ado is lose some weight now and i may actual be good at this sport :) lol (6ft 8) 18 stone 6lb

  • Every time I consider throwing a right shot, I worry about my defensive weakness. I expect that I will receive a gnarly return blow the second after I release my right hand on a fool's errand. Does this make sense? How do I defend against returns when I miss with my strong hand?

  • It's funny I'm naturally right handed but I box as a southpaw and now I have a hard time being in a right hand stance

  • learn ta keep ya right hand still, I see dis all da time n I do capitalize on it, wen I c my opponent has a bad habit as elementary as this, the fight ends quick

  • Great combo, but you have to learn to move to a side instead of straight back. When you move straight back you can't get away for some ones power.(bad Habit)

  • "Spartans! tonight we... jab, jab, Cross!!" nice and simple combo:)

  • hook your bag to the ground so it does not swing around like a bitch, and box smart, remember, heavy bag dont hit back, you gotta move around a lot more.

  • @psydust Great to see your so passionate about sharing. However, don't confuse the lesson. The lesson is jab & Right X not "jab right cross and move" or "bob and Weave". Keep training simple and get the basics right before you go dancing around like Mohammed Ali. Make sure you take your time and understand how the body moves and maintaining balance at all times.

  • good punching, great video

  • i cant do use my left arm to save my life how can i imrove punching?

i am 14 and gettin a punching bag for christmas

  • @magicdude814 Simply try using your left arm more consistently. Just doing simple tasks and activity's using your left will help alot for example (I know it sounds stupid) washing the dish's, drinking a glass of water, smoking (I dont suggest cause ur 14) be creative and just use it more and it will help you become ambidextrous. For strength when i was younger when working out i would always use my left first and even if I could do more with my right i would stop at the limit my left could do.

  • @natiive - great advice man

  • @natiive i had same problem with a weak left arm. but now its overtaken my right arm in speed and power is that bad ? im right handed

  • @natiive smoke weed, jab it up, i swear it makes you better

  • @natiive also tying the right arm to your back and jut hitting the bag with your left improves your jab.. thats how i got tough

  • @natiive Thx man

  • @magicdude814 p.s. if you don't work out, for strength in your punching just practice lots of jabs and left hooks on your new punching bag once christmas rolls around :)

  • @magicdude814 im 19 doing push ups and punching something everyday like anything soft will get your punches going also try to buy some weights and do bench press ones like 20 pounds?? then you biuld from thier you move to 30, 40 i dont recommend passing 100 your to small once your like aroud 16 then pass 100 bench press make your punches punch harder and faster trust me i do 225 and i bend 200 pound bags and trust me a punch like that even if you block it , it will hurt ...

  • @magicdude814 work out i used to have the same thing i just lifted weights with my left and it evened out the strength

  • @magicdude814 - Native hit the nail on the head mate. You need to make sure you use the left more now. You are young enough to make the left your BIG punch. When I was about your age, I broke my right knuckle. My coach at the time Charlie Parvin, tied my right hand onto my chin and spent six weeks with me only jabbing and left hooks. My left hook became my knockout punch...still is :)

  • @Dennythetrainer lol so true...I had surgery on my left arm when I was like 7, so I had been using my right for all my main hits and just the jab on the left. Broke my right arm messing around trying to learn how to skateboard, and ever since that, I used my left a lot more, and learnt it is infact... not phased. (was all in my head) and now I have a killer left.

  • @magicdude814 Do more workouts with your left hand, make sure you're punching properly. A strong jab isn't in the power its in the technique. Do more normal things with your left hand to practice your coordination. Make sure you step with your front foot when you jab as well. You'd be suprised how many people can't throw a jab properly and it kills them in a fight. Hope it helped.

  • @magicdude814 when u hit the bag dont use your right arm at all for like 15 minutes, imagine the bag is your opponent and your right arm is broke, you wanna throw as many punches and combos with your left as you can.. worked for me

  • @magicdude814 It also helps to do a couple rounds just using your left hand.

  • @magicdude814 yea man i hardley ever use my left arm and its sore just from me using it so much now lol

  • im gettin there, not nearly as good as you man

  • how manny "kg" bag ? im from eu ;D

  • @mitraljez No idea man...I can carry to the forest...so not too heavy :) but then again..not too light either :)

  • @Dennythetrainer looks like a 35-er but im just guessing ;)

  • @Dennythetrainer bro u shuldnt let the bag hit you, either punch off or side step and give yourself more angles, and also dont crowd the bag so much, get off on your shots andstep to the side, standing in front of the bag like that, is like standing in front of a opp.. good video tho!

  • this is the coolest location for a heavy bag and u are sexy

  • @ire4evr stretch ur wrist's diffrent positions it may help.

  • hi, would there be any change at all u`ll be teaching flicker jab, i know its not one of the basics but the information anywhere else is very limited , and you are the best teacher i can find on , well, the whole net.

  • nice training area, awesome vid.

but d00d, you must get murdered by mossies right? happens to me whenever i train outside.

  • god damn nice . . . maybe u can help me with getting speed cuz i dont know how to get speed

  • Great vids Denny. I came across them by accident. Very happy that I did. I'm watching all of them.

  • cheers for the tips denny!!

  • @ire4evr use a good set ofwraps and you wont hurt your wrists so much

  • lovely shots there mate you hav a briliant Double jab on yeah

  • damn man you got nice place to train!

  • @ire4evr i could also use some help with that lol

  • nice

  • Hey Denny how heavy is that bag? just out of curiosity, because obviously your a powerful striker, and i bought a 80lb bag ( i am 120lbs) and all the sand seems to settle to the bottom making the bottom super dense and the top and middle really soft, BTW ur video's are awsome

  • Lmao, @the dude that said this wouldn't work on "the street" 90% of the people on the streets can't fight. They just think they're big shit. I'd live to go on the streets that you take so much pride in, and wreck everyone that's as ignorant as you

  • Cool but,too many repeats the move..that why the video is 3 minutes.you can do it 1 minute.. is fine

  • @ArnazAdigunaK Then just stop watching at 1 minute man.

  • I like this song whats the name of it??????

  • first try to do it right by your self, then learn others, denny....

  • This guy looks rugged. I would not want to be opposite him in the ring when he's having a bad day.Mebe I'm wrong but his technique doesn't look flawless though.

I sparred one guy who did this combination perfect. The first jab was slow and got me moving back a bit the second jab I would paw down but it just set up the cross. He landed many times. I never had a problem with dealing with this combination before I sparred him.Timing is so important.

    Nice video. thanks for posting.

  • OX!

  • really appreciate these videos mann thanks! =)

  • People talking shit on this video are stupid, u can tell this guy's got good punches, how about u put up a video of u doing the same thing as this guy and when u do it better, wel talk

  • @jlojlo4166363

Great punches, though not a lot of teaching involved :/ ...

  • Another excellent video Denny. Well done!

  • I like it all...the place, the style,music...just a fun way to learn. Thanx

  • bro id knock ur bitch as out ,lets box

  • wow you got such a wonderful, beautiful place for boxing!!! O_o

  • haha thats why i do a lil strret and a lil boxing look up brown house boxing im the blonde dude

  • Love it! Scotsman kicking bag ass. I saw the skipping tutorial, loved it. Never had u as a scot, love it even more mad man

  • This guy isnt too bad... some head movement with in and out, side to side moves....

  • I like Denny's footwork. All of the tricks never came to me at one time. Never could put footwork together with good defensive form and good punching technique at the same time. I'm not a freak of an athlete either so without having great form and skill a guy like me is doomed. I envy that footwork for sure and that's what I am making my main focus for the rest of my life.

  • thanks for teaching me these ultra violent punches mate, ive been using them on old women and handicapped kiddies. i just run up to them and start smashing fuck out of their faces. thanks again fella!

  • your cross is to noticeable, power up a little.. youd be screwed if someone ducked that and countered

  • I'm 16 years old.. is it to late for me to begin with boxing?

Sorry if my english isn't that good =D

  • I like the music to this, who is it? BTW great vid!

  • hey. I've recently started training. at home. punching a bag. is there actually any benefits in having "real" boxing shoes? I'm just using regular outdoor running shoes atm.

  • you have more stability with boxing shoes

  • well, this is a parody, right?

  • i gotta i fight coming up , what would be the best knock out combo , ps nice vid

  • o yea, insane explosiveness you kept such a short distance in some instances and got so much power out of the little space you had

  • nastiest training spot. and nasty combo and form

  • go back to playing Fight night round 4

  • Why is he standing in the forrest lol :D

  • lmao

  • one word i can describe you denny, beast, the kinetic energy released in the slo motion is some serious stopping power. big ups

  • I was wondering. My trainer says to slide your back foot into the right cross and take small steps forward with the jab. But I am also hearing you should pivot or even do both. What is it? The guy in the video seems to only pivot his back foot slightly.

  • My trainer just tells me to pivot the rear foot. Alot of it is in the stance and the pivoting and rotation fo the hips.

  • nice setup with the right hand. ima try it out

  • what is this song?

  • THIS! IS! SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

  • i just turned 19 and i started boxing when i was 18. i hope it isnt too late for me to maybe start a career in mma. i know i need to work on my ground game and my conditioning.

  • This is a nice video! All of your videos are very instructional and I'm definitely on my way to some good boxer's fitness. Will you have any videos on slip, bob & weave?

What's this song as well? It's really cool.

  • its boss the way youve got your bag hanging from a tree, really good. you wouldnt see that by ours. some scumbag would rob it or just slice it up for a laugh the dirty bastards

  • @choclatesaltyballz cut one leg of a fat cunts trousers and fill it with rags - tie that up instead

  • @woodrat123

rather stick me bag on me bracket

  • after the two jabs he doesnt keep his hand up for the cross

  • I will become fourty years old soon... too late for me to learn how to box?

  • It's never too late to learn new things :)

  • no it isn't. ,maybe too late for a career and there is a higher injury risk but you'll do fine.

  • u certainy wont become new ROY JONES but sure u can learn good technique and build up strength!

  • Johnnyjolt.

    trust me

I almost asked myself thats same question and I'm the age of 20!!

    which sounds silly i suppose...

but i was comparing myself to professionals who started as a kid

Its not too late. Boxing in reality is 1 big aerobics work out that has a lot of emotion at times.

never let any one tell you that you're "TOO OLD" to do something

and don't ever tell your self that you're "TOO OLD" as an excuse to cut yourself from a truer potential.

    ps: 40 far from old.

    70 and up

  • johnnyjoliijt why do you say that !! it is never to old to learn to box ,,bernard hopkins is 45 years old and p4p 3 best ,, if you start boxing and take your time to learn and to get your fitness up ,it will keep you younger looking !! there are peolpe who 65+ who run marathons !! boxing is the king of sports coz it is so hard but nothing compares to it to get you into shape as long as you eat well !!

  • Good work its also important not to build pattern as a counter puncher will remember these punch combos and build a counter for them, good to switch stances and mix up the combos with the jab.

  • thank you for videos

  • I especially like the fact that its outside in the elements rather than a gym...

  • wow !! awesome power in JAB -- like the way you double jab.

  • man this ryte is dopee im only 14 im on it thiss boxiin it really cool combos..foot workk

    hustle like crazi

  • your mums a prozzi isnt she

  • niqqah watt the fucc that meann faggott

  • it means she taught you how to hustle your vagina like crazi

  • ahhh negtive shit yu dnt get meh no where..thank yu 4 hateiin ii will make sure ii give ay shout out 2 yu cuzz iim on t v nd yu will be watchiin mehh...byee

  • wow really no way!! i didnt know you made it to the special olympics!!! gratz man, and your right,i dont get you no where maaaan, no wheeerre

  • this guy is an experienced boxer this is good stuff, this week im only gonna practice these basic combos because they are good to know.

  • lmao uhm boxing would work on the street well you would need more then boxing but to knock the other guy out its all about punches or maybe kicks to. so.

  • dude you would wreck anyone on the street with these combos unless they had a weapon or were a lot bigger than you.

  • yeah i know!! knocking out is all about punching grounds important to... so id do boxing judo and wreslting maybe ju jitsu. but its mostly punching sooo boxing.

  • Like every royal marine ive ever met your a solid and charasmatic person. Cant thank you enough for these vids. The way you comunicate is second to none and i want to wish you the best of luck with everything in your life.

  • yeh man, your name says it all...

  • @Dennythetrainer i want to download this video but Embedding disabled. can you help.

  • @Dennythetrainer please, post embed code.

  • 1FuckedUpIndividual are you a idiot????? When one combat art work in the ''street'' than BOXING!!!!

  • The author of the video never said that this was made for street fighting. And even if it was, a bit of boxing knowledge never hurt anyone.

  • @1FuckedUpIndividual I tend to differ. With this method "double left jab, right cross" I floored this dumb street thug. Here's how. I came in with the double left jab quick ,he was focused on my left while slightly backing up, he blocked with both his fists moving his head to the left, he didn't see my right cross that went in for the touchdown. It was all ground n pound after that. Until friends had to pull me off of him.

  • @1FuckedUpIndividual ur an idiot, no technique will get u fucked up n the streets, if ur jus throwin wildly crossin ur feet holdin ur breath in ur gonna get mopd. its all bout technique

  • @1FuckedUpIndividual wtf how do you figure that?

  • Simple and the most common combination !! but it works pperfect

  • beat trainer in the tube by far..and ive pretty much checked them all out

  • The song is tight

  • WHats the song called? Nice punches there mate! I just started boksing myself. Still working with my technique and rythem ;)

  • i have to say your pretty good at teaching this i can only imagine what you can do in person

  • Yo, check my boxing vids and tell me what ya'll think! peace

  • what is that a 40lb bag .. i use a Heavy bag

  • the bag doesn't make the fighter.....

  • that jab goes hard.

  • See when you jab do you jab with your hips ? or just jab ?

  • Moving your hips allows you to draw more power, try bending you back leg a lil then pushing upwards while you do it, it's create greater force.- ;)

    Peace

  • do ypu conciously raise the right hand when you jab? I wondered if you were using it as a faint. This is not to say that your hand isn't already in the ready position, may I add.

  • If you raise your right hand, then you'll be sure that you're always not off-gurard.- ;)

    Peace

  • if you like what I am teaching here...jump over to my channel and see what I am doing today!

I have written a couple of cool books, put a DVD and Audio workouts together. I am giving FREE stuff away on my website for a couple of weeks.

  • Hi denny, your videos are great, but your homepage doesn't work.

  • make sure you typ in the last part of the address...

    au

  • Turn your hand palm down when you punch.

Use the forearms to push back the bag

I like the intensity but even top pros have to check and go over their techniques

    I do as well.

  • Why wear boxingshoes out in the woods?

  • That's my sexual preference mate! :)

  • Lol

  • very impressive. fast hands fo sho.

  • It looks good, you're a pro or an amateur ?

  • Been both mate

  • good video!!

  • hey denny thanks for the videos.

just wonderin what kind of gloves are u using when you work the heavy bag? regular gloves what weight and or heavy bag gloves? thanks.

  • 12 oz gloves are my chosen gloves for pad and bag work. The offer good protection and that weight is a little bit heavier than what you will be using when you fight...so its good to get used to it.

  • do you always go in with your stronger hand first?

or you weak one as a dummy?

  • You lead with your weak hand. So say for example you was a southpaw you would jab 1st with your right hand as it is your weaker hand & vice versa.

  • Thanks boxingchamp09!

You keep the stronger hand to the rear so when you do throw it, you have more force coming through the punch due to the change in your body weight. Make sure you subscribe to my channel and get the new videos that are due out and also get on the email list for the new book!

  • Very nice

  • Out of curiosity, what is your weight class? Also is there any difference in how you should train based on your weight class?

I am about 180 pounds, 81.64 KG. According to a web site, I am a cruiser weight , and amateur Olympics I am consider a heavy weight.

  • I boxed at welterweight, light middle and middleweight. Cruiser weight, light heavy weight are all the same. If you are serious about boxing and in my gym, you would be losing more weight and be sitting, fighting fit at middle weight. When you are boxing in fights you should be carrying no body fat unless you are heavy weight.

  • good stuff mate

  • how do i make my hip loose and thnxs im goign try what you told me but like i was wondering what is side bends and how do i make my jabs faster there fast but not fast fast

  • did you use rope or twine to tie the bag to the tree? just wondering if twine would be strong enough.

  • I used a car roof rack tie. I would say if you were to use twine you would need to double or triple the twine to get enough strength mate. I reckon it would work, if it was thick enough though.

  • alright thanks! just picking up boxing. sadly there are no random trees that id be able to hang up a heavy bag here in Singapore though.

  • hey im doing boxing right but like i find it hard for mi to move my head from side to side you think you can help mi out like im a aggreser i like to b the one controlling the fight but caosue of my defense i sometimes get controlled

  • Your head moves because your body moves. If you are having trouble moving your head I would say it is because you are tight in the hips. Practice bobbing and weaving in the mirror. Watch your form and get your head moving in a figure of 8 movement. Bend your knees, twist your torso from left to right. You also might want to do some side bends with some light weights in each hand. Loosen the hips and you may find it easier.

  • You're the man Denny,

just reading your replies on the comments sections of ya videos are teaching me heaps....

    question:

I know what you mean by figure 8, but what does that look like exactly? I don't want to practise in the mirror trying to make an 8 shape with my head and be doing it all wrong... haha

is it a horizontal 8 or vertical? lol

do you have a video of how the head should move specifically?

  • Hey mate,

brother, I explain it clearly in my book which is due for release next week. I will have a video also available with the book. it is clear there. I will post a video soon...busy these days with new gym I am opening and training. keep your eyes open and make sure your subscription to my channel is working so you get the new series of videos that are due out in the coming weeks.
