@llc88 Yea, because that's what we're supposed to say,as we get older & we all think that the world is gonna fall apart, and so on. I think that might be more because of ..."Adults."
@SirReal1958 For a man who didn't want to be defined by his sexuality (even though it was painfully obvious) so it wouldn't limit his ability to receive 'serious roles' I am sure it made him plenty comfortable, Maybe even happy.
Im really excited because I get to sing this song! I play Mr.Macafee in this show at my theatre! But were changing it to grandma macafee. Im rlly excited!
When we were young, we may have been somewhat good in school, but lots of loud bullies who think learning is for idiots now, trying to ruin it for the rest.
She's putting her head in the oven, now it's 2011 that's not politically correct for a family movie, but back when this movie was made people did kill themselves putting their head in a gas oven.
I am currently playing Randolph, the kid brother in this play, and I try my best not to crack up when I say, "I respect you, pa," and Mr. Macafee says, "I don't want your respect!" It is just so funny!
@headbangerbunny Their parents -- that's what's the mattel with kids today. Mattel created the Barbie and Ken dolls and owned the Ringling Barnum and Bailey Circus.
Great song and clip from this fantastic movie that shows how wonderful Paul Lynde was and how great of an actor he was and singer too. I miss him and feel he was one of the best comedians out there and loved him on Bewitched and Donnie and Marie. Thank god for all the videos of him left for all of us to enjoy still 25 years after his death. Thanks for the post of this.
Ah, the good old days of traditional American values... a hyperbolic and suicidal grandmother, a clearly gay father who hates his children, oh yeah- and endless singing! Wait a minute....

On another note, this song becomes more and more true with each passing year (minus the fact that I don't have children).
