This looks really promising. The several month wait for each of these OVAs is really frustrating, but they allways deliver big time!
While i prefer to watch Hellsing subbed, some of my friends love Hellsing Ultimate but only watch anime english dubbed., so for their sake i hope that whatever has been thwarting the license negotiations gets resolved quickly.
Yea, I usually don't like it when they get english dubs, but for Hellsing, the VA are the best. It feels more realistic too, when I hear their proper accents. License negotiation? I thought fundimation took over?
Funimation is only acting as distributor for the first 4 Hellsing Ultimate OVAs, but the US license still resides with the Japanese company that owned Geneon USA.
Meanwhile, Geneon (Japan), that produces the Hellsing Ultimate OVA series as well as other anime titles, has been purchased by another company.
Following the takeover of Geneon (Japan), none of their recent anime properties (which also include Shakugan no Shana season 2, Higurashi no naku koro ni Kai, and Kara no Kyoukai) ..
...have been licensed by any american anime companies, which suggests that the company that now owns Geneon (Japan) hasn't decided yet how it's going to deal with licensing anime to countries outside of Japan.
Until this situation gets resolved we won't see an American DVD release for Hellsing Ultimate OVAs 5 and on.
This sucks, I don't know how long my patience can last. Hopefully they'll get it done soon. Thanks for the info though, I would be in the dark if you hadn't told me. :D I can't wait for #7 to come out, maybe they'll show some more dark Walter.

vamparised walter will come in ova 9(maybe end of ova 8) but first the fight between iscariot (alucard - anderson) will come
